Kapenke hotel is very well located, waling distance to many restaurants and stores downtown. The touristic locations are a bit far, which means you should book transportation/transfer with the tour you booked or rent a car/taxi. Staff was super friendly, we were able to leave our luggage in the front desk before check in and after check out. They also offer a bathroom while we don't have access to the room. Wifi worked pretty well, we were able to watch movies on streamings and book all the tours we went on. We packed snacks for the trails and, even though the rooms didn't have fridges, the staff offered us to leave our food in the bar fridge. They tagged everything so it didn't get mixed up with other peoples stuff, and were available 24/7 do we could pick stuff up at the front desk.

Breakfast was pretty simple, I missed other protein options besides eggs. The hotel is a bit old, and needs some maintenance, but the price was totally worth it. Also, the bathroom in the rooms is a bit small, and without ventilation/window. Their offered a way around not having a fridge in the room, but it would be more comfortable if it did. Even though it was pretty simple, it was worth the price we paid!

Last person we saw at checkout was very unpleasant. Manager should talk to her, after spending 3 nights and very pleasant experience, she dropped the ball at the last minute, ruining all the hard work the rest of the team had done. She wears glasses and a nose ring, didn’t catch her name. She was very unpolite to the guests checking in before us and kept the same poor demeanor with our checkout. Felt bad for the rest of the staff and management, didn’t give a bad review to the hotel because that wouldn’t be fair.

The BEST location, a block from the main street and walking distance from everything you may need. Restaurants, bars, supermarkets, coffee shops, tour companies, etc. The rooms are good in general, the bathrooms are a bit small but do the work.

Breakfast. Not a lot of variety and the quality was OK compared to other hotels with the same level. Also, areas to share with friends staying in the same hotel are not available/comfortable at night.

Centrally located and you can find many restaurants and bars around. Please don’t expect something 5 star, it’s an old building like most other places in El Calafate, but I do like that they supplement it with good quality linens and towels. Also love the hospitality of the staff.

The room was just so hot because of the controlled heating, there is no way to turn it down, which is a shame. Also we chose to pay in peso, and I cannot really understand the conversion, ends up having to pay more than the day’s conversion which is a bit frustrating. I asked and the staff said it’s a price without tax..?? Still doesn’t make sense.

Perfect location next to the city center, and walkable distance to the Nimez natural park on the coast of the lake. The hotel a bit old, but very comfortable, and the stuff very friendly. The breakfast is typical for Argentina, lots of sweet staff, cheese and ham, not my favorite, but I guess that is the standard. The fruit salad great. There is a hairdryer, but no electric kettle to boil some water.

The location was very central, the room/ bed was super comfortable and the staff were very friendly! They were willing to go out of their way to help. The included breakfast was good, fruit salad, juice, coffee, pastries etc. Stayed here for the good discount price and we were very happy - highly recommend.

Price of the room are very high based on the quality of the facilities provided. Maybe a bit richer breakfast with more options. Wifi wasn't working properly sometimes.

The hotel was a very good value. Our room was small but had everything we needed. The staff was helpful in finding taxi service for us and storing our luggage. Breakfast was quite good. And the location cannot be beat. I strongly recommend the pizza place that is to the right as you exit the hotel.

There is nothing to complain about.

The best part is the location, is near of all the night action, restaturants, bars, brewery, shops. The internet was really decent The staff was great.

The room wasn't warm enough, although, it was ok and I was there on the coolest day of the year, so I think it wont be a problem on warmer dates. The breakfast was ok, however, the breads were not good and there was no egg nor entire fruits. That can be improved.
