The staff were very friendly and helpful, they didn’t hesitate when I said my child was sick and we needed to extend our check out time. They also helped a lot with refilling our water bottles from their filtered tap, heated up our meals, gave information about tram etc.

The room is slightly old style and the drainage of the sink was almost blocked ( I think the cleaner should be aware of this as they clean it everyday, so they should fix it before the customers come). The breakfast charged $28 pp but with very limited choices, good thing is the coffee was made by the staff freshly. The tv is not a smart tv which can’t connect to YouTube.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The BEST pillow ever (30% goose down). I tried to buy one but sadly, they said they had none for sale. The room service menu, although very limited (who doesn't have at least one soup on the menu?), was fresh and tasty with generous serves. The big breakfast included 3 poached eggs!

It was a big push to get Mum from the accessibility parking underneath up the steep drive. The carpet leading to the bathroom had a hump in it. The furniture (black) was showing signs of age. Maybe some touch up paint could make it feel less run down. Unfortunately, there was a function downstairs the night we were there, which was very noisy. Next morning , I had occasion to use the public bathroom around the corner from reception and needed to alert them to the fact that two of the three basins were covered in vomit. Reception immediately informed the cleaner. It might be wise practice to always check the restrooms near the function rooms. It wasn't super early either... after 7.30am.

Canberra Rex Hotel is located just a couple tram stops away from central Canberra where the city's main shopping mall and nightlife are located. The rooms are fine but the Wi-Fi, at least on the third floor where I stayed, was terrible. I notified the front desk, and they did give me the password for a different network, but this didn't help and so I was forced to use data on my phone to access the internet. In 2024, bad Wi-Fi at a business-style hotel just doesn't make any sense. Otherwise, everything was good and the hotel is perfectly adequate for a short stay.

It was very quiet and comfortable. Car park was easy to access outside. Staff were friendly

Buffet breakfast was very poor. We went down at 8.00am and there was no bacon or scrambled eggs. One pastry left half bowl yogurt with almost no fresh fruit left. One cereal bowl was empty. We waited for ages and nobody topped up the cold section. My husband had hot breakfast and it was not very hot and had to wait for bacon and when it did come out it was not enough for everyone. I had just cold and no fruit and no pastries. Very disappointing. I complained to reception when leaving but they still charged us for our breakfasts. We would not pay extra for a buffet breakfast again.

Stay at the Rex quite often. It’s decent value for money, nice facilities, howling moon is great (just book ahead as it’s always booked out) nice views yummy room service (although very short time frame 5-10pm outside of that you can’t get much to eat or drink and it’s a fair way from the city so only ubereats) Staff were fantastic and accommodating. Safe area lots of parking. Gym and pool. Security on the door all night, Good place for events or a stopover

A lot of things need upgrading, lift buttons hardly work, power points old and sole not working, lots of stains and burns in carpet etc. it’s not luxury. a minibar would be nice, priority to guests to go to howling moon instead of booking it out with events every night would be good. Wifi dropped out a fair bit, beds comfy but you can always feel the lump in the middle where the two meet.

The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. There were events taking place at the hotel but the noise didn’t bother us. The room was completely sound proof.

Limited parking available. Guest are unable to secure parking in advance. This was a concern as we were traveling from Sydney to attend an engagement party held at the Rex Hotel. However, once checked in the Concierge found us a car parking space during our stay.

On arrival Taha was excellent. She answered my questions in a friendly, professional manner and directed me to a parking spot closer to the entrance. It was good to be able to watch free to air TV without having to navigate through pay TV options. Good to find dining options within walking distance.

As I planned to have breakfast in my room with cereal that I brought with me it was disappointing to find no bowls nor plates and the only cutlery was teaspoons. The lack of under cover parking was disappointing but a friend told me that the government expects everyone to use the light rail or buses. Next time I am on a road trip through Canberra I will look for a motel with parking in front of the units.

It was a really good stay. There’s a gym and a very clean pool. I had a single room with a king size bed. It was very clean. I had the buffet breakfast on 2 days of my stay, one of those days was my birthday and they provided a complimentary buffet breakfast for me which was lovely. There were functions on each night on the rooftop venue however I didn’t hear any noise in my room which was great. There was free onsite parking but no dedicated parking.

The only thing that would have made it better was if there was dedicated free parking. If there is a function going on, the car park fills up but having said that, there is still parking around the back of the hotel on the street if needed. Not really a big deal.

I liked the friendly staff at the desk, cleaning, the help that was sent to us when we have TV difficulty and breakfast staff also was very lovely and friendly. Very helpful and most importantly genuine. I like the fact that there is a stream room in our suite, which was one of the reasons we want to book that particular room. Love the huge shower and quality if the shower heads.

Our of the 2 TV in our room, one of the TV's cable slots wasn't working and also have dry paint on the USB cable from the TV, so my wife and I had to share the TV with our little one. The stream room I had in mind was the usual wooden strips look, rather than a stream hole in the shower. The bench in the shower can also be replace with something sturdier will be nice. Breakfast room was a "WOW" when we walked in, but the lack of food choice was a bit disappointing for the price.

The Suite with Sauna was spacious, had the comfiest and firmest bed, two TVs and the sauna was working perfectly. We waited for a while (maybe 30-40 minutes to be completely hot) and it was an amazing experience. It's perfect for a couple who wants a sauna all to themselves. Gym and swimming pool were good facilities (nice that there weren't many people there). Car park spaces were ample.

It would be more convenient if the gym and swimming pool were connected to the hotel facilities - we had to walk outside, then through the accessibility car park and through the main entrance.
