Nicely renovated apartment for the age of the complex. Furnishings adequate for a family and beds comfortable. Plenty of cooking utensils. Location was reason for booking as it was about 6 mins drive to our daughter in Campbell. Close to shops, cafes and restaurants. A 10min drive to ADFA. Communal BBQ area was well received by our whole party. The gardens and landscaping were a pleasant outlook. The room was clean upon arrival and very well presented. Small milks n fridge were a bonus upon arrival. Full size fridge!! Complex felt safe in the apartment blocks. Full security screens on all windows.Parking was a mix of undercover and open. Easy Access.

Suggest that fans in toilet and bathroom need servicing. The bathroom is beautifully renovated, however there is need for a shower screen or curtain. The shower head is lovely but it sprays water everywhere, no matter what position it is set to. A fine spray is dispersed around the room, making it slippery and dangerous. There is a lot of condensation around the entire room, after even a short shower. Also suggest a shelf or bench, to put belongings on whilst in bathroom. With a family of four, all towel rails were utilised and there was nowhere to put clothing. Also suggest a broom and mop, we had to use the dustpan brush and towels to maintain cleanliness.

Location is Everything. Forrest Hotel & Apartments is steeped in Family History going back to the 19th Century. Ideal for a casual stay to a destination as on-site amenities include everything from outdoor kitchen with BBQs, Tennis Courts next door @ a reduced rate, on site dinning including room service or enjoy a walk around local Churches in amongst the Maple Trees. Manuka Dining & Shopping precinct is within walking distance and public transport incl Neuron Elec Scooters are avail close by to Zip around a very Green City. Better still bring your bikes. The Complex has everything from a Queen Standard Ensuite to every configuration you may need or upgrade your family to a apartment including European Appliances incl Washer/Dryer, Dishwasher incl Full Kitchen up to 3 Rooms including sofa bed in your lounge should you need it. Disability Parking is scattered throughout the complex incl On site Laundry to accommodate your needs. I had a wonderful stay over Xmas, The Staff go above & Beyond and I found it to be it's own community within itself. Do yourself a favour, book your next stay direct not online as every booking the Complex lose around 15%. I highly recomend Forrest Hotel & apartments. I wish the team the very best going forward. The location was perfect. The facilities inside the room was all good. Very clean. Easy access. Parking was plenty. The check-in and check out process was very easy. The staff at reception were very helpful

While the A/C was working fine in the front room. There was NO provision in the bedrooms. During our stay , on most nights it was hot and there was no AC or fans in the bedrooms, and the windows could only open a few centimetres. So we kept our bedroom doors open during the night with the AC on full blast, however, it still didn't cool the bedroom temperatures.

A good place in a great location.

We booked for 8 nights. Given that there is minimal crockery and cutlery provided, we needed to run the dishwasher at least daily. This required us to keep going back to reception to get extra dishwasher tablets as only 1-2 would be provided at a time despite requests for enough to last our stay. It was a similar situation with obtaining extra toilet paper. It is suggested that the preparation of the apartment should have regard to the period of occupancy and stock it accordingly. In addition, the apartment was only serviced at 7 day intervals. It should have been done every 3-4 days as is the case in most other places we have stayed.

The one bedroom apartment is quite spacious and recently refurbished, much better than a standard motel room . It's ideal for a longer stay, quiet, well equipped, well maintained, clean and comfortable. The walk in shower is lovely, with excellent water pressure and shower head. The location is very quiet but only a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants of Manuka. No shared walls with the apartments, and upstairs is especially quiet. The wifi worked well.

The selection of tv channels is limited to free to air. Kitchen equipment is a bit unpredictable. The lounge would benefit from some cushions.

We chose this because it was cheap and we didn't need fanciness, and it delivered on both. It was a basic, functional motel room. The bed was comfortable. Quiet location. We got a good sleep. The fridge was good. We could make our breakfast nicely in the morning. Nothing unusual or outstanding. Nothing terrible (except for the shower).

The shower was truly terrible. Spraying everywhere and no-where useful. But we still got clean somehow. Also it's a large complex, with unassigned carparks. We had to park a long way from our room because that's where the only available spot was. Not the end of the world, but annoying.

The room was about what I expected, based on age of the hotel. I'm pretty sure I stayed in the hotel in the 1970s, as a child. However, the bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and the TV was the right size for the room. The fridge in my room was bigger than a "bar" fridge, so I was able to keep some drinks and food cold for the next day. Perfect for an overnight stay and very well located. I'll probably stay again when I'm next in Canberra for a quick visit.

More of a warning to people who like modern accommodation with some glamour. It's probably not the hotel for you. The room's size reflects what a 1970s Australian couple would have been happy with.

Perfect for our needs, room for family of 4 (3 stayed), plus the self contained space to comfortably have a conversation while others watch TV. Also great outdoor spaces which is a reason we are repeat stayers when we are in town.

The only surprising disappointment (we are repeat stayers) as the place is great was the cockroach that had to be escorted from the building. First time ever happened. Place is normally very clean. Wouldn't put off staying again. We also stayed in smaller 2 bed room this time around and the bathroom is cramped, but clean and functional.

The hotel is in a great spot near the Manuka precinct and the neighbourhood was residential so felt very safe. As I had heavy cases, the staff kindly moved me to a ground floor room. It was quite chilly in Canberra so the electric blanket was a blissful discovery. Bed even more comfortable as a result. I walked to just about everywhere in Canberra as the bus service was sketchy and you needed a special card, so I saw Lake Burley Griffin, Anzac Parade, up Mount Ainslie, to the Parliament Building and back. Everywhere fairly flat (except for the Mount of course). Manuka precinct had lots of cafes, restaurants, shops and a big supermarket (Coles) which had a great bakery department!

All fine really, nothing major.
