Stayed at Hoop Pine. Had the view of the lake from the living and the room. The cabin is loft style. Complete with kitchen facilities and utensils, full size fridge, cook top, coffee, tea. We were also provided milk. Bed is suspended which we did not mind. It moves though when one person gets up or climbs up. Hot water is adequate and the water pressure is high. We were given continental breakfast upon arrival and fresh croissants each morning around 8am. The cabin does need a number of maintenance work, the retreat itself has a lot of potential. The owners just acquired the property early this year though. We walked around the lake with the retreat. Only narrow road going in and within the property so be mindful of other vehicles going in and out. There is a make shift honey store a properties away. $12 per large jar which we think is a steal considering how much they sell in the cities / other places. The property is about 8 minutes drive from the closest grocery i.e. IGA, shops and cafes in Montville. Secrets on the Lake, Baroon Dam and the walks (Narrows Lookout, Obi Obi Creek, Baroon Lookout) are about 5 minutes drive from the Property.

Beautiful location, very private cabin overlooking the lake with daily visits from the Kookaburras and sounds of the whip birds. Despite torrential rain for 3 days, we loved sitting on the deck reading, relaxing, playing guitar and enjoying our evening meals 🥗🫖 The continental breakfast hamper, welcome cheese board, daily hot croissants and treats were a lovely touch. The hanging bed was unique and so comfortable. Great for afternoon reading with lovely views. Closeby to Kondalilla Falls and Montville for rainforest walks and lunch afterwards at the Montville Bar and Grill. Good collection of DVDs to watch in the evening. Kitchen equipped for those who enjoy cooking and eating on the deck. A great relaxing weekend getaway 🌳🦜🦆🫖✨️🌲

Just a few minor things that were addressed promptly by the owners and no big deal.

From the second we arrived, Michael and Karen were amazing, making us feel very welcome. The cottage we had was breathtaking our own little piece of paradise. Unless we walked out the front door, we didn't even know there was anyone else around. This is a must do if you are looking for a romantic weekend away. We ordered the rib eye package for dinner more than enough food for the two of us. The hardest part was guarding the meat from the cheeky family of kookaburras waiting for their opportunity Don't pass monteville country cabins up if you are looking

We liked the quietness and the facilities available. We could just do our thing as it was well equipped. The property was beautiful and even though it’s a little bit older, but there was an amazing (and massive) spa bath overlooking the gardens, a large comfortable bed, and bbq on the deck. The cheese platter and continental breaky hamper with daily delivered croissants was great! We met Karen on our check in and she was absolutely lovely. We’d definitely go back :)

The cheeky kookaburras! They’ve obviously been fed in the past and have no issue getting right up to your person - and even steal snags off the bbq! The cabins themselves could use some slight modernising/ updating but there’s ultimately nothing wrong with them.

The Breakfast was lovely ,the cheese platter was divine. Fruit in the bowl . Flowers everywhere. Firewood for the fire. Lovely. Michael and Karen are great hosts. Beautiful people. Great location. Me n my lady will be back. Thankyou.

I only thing we can say is that if we had the time ,would off been to stay longer . Great romantic weekend away. The fire keep us nice n warm. Kookaburras, Friendly Magpie ,came to say hallo. The location was at the end of a long street which is directly south of the main street of Montville with all the quaint shops. So nice and close to access this main area each day. Maleny a short drive in one direction and Mapleton, Flaxton a short drive in the opposite direction. There was a huge and varied selection in the included breakfast, with the fluffiest pancake mix as one of the additions. The view from our cabin was beautiful and peaceful from both the deck and out the large bedroom window. Several kookaburras visited the deck regularly, we suspect looking for a feed. We didn't feed them but admired them and their antics. As it was off season we unfortunately couldn't use the fire place. We did take advantage of the spa bath. The main bed was huge and comfortable, and the lounge and dining facilities were more than adequate as well.

I hadn't realised on booking that my two teenage boys would be using small trundle type beds. They were comfortable enough, but might be something to consider for anyone booking depending on number and age of guests. Some of the areas around the lake were in desperate need of maintenance, such as the cute little bridge.

From the very start, Michael greeted us with the most amazing, welcome very, friendly, and advice on cooking bacon on the BBQ entering the cabin it was presented very clean and was beautiful with all the extra touches well maintained and beautifully presented not to mention the spa with the beautiful window view of the lake and and trees it felt like you were the only people there the perfect place to relax and unwind. Thank you, micheal & Karen for an amazing weekend

We stayed in Seclusion, a beautiful country cottage. The location was great, very close to restaurants, winery, and Konadilla falls. The little touches (breakfast hamper, chocolates, robes) were well thought out and lovely. The fireplace and spa were so relaxing and made for a great stay.

As we booked through booking.com, I expected that their rate would be the amount shown. The property charged my credit card a 50% deposit, and charged an additional credit card surcharge, which was not quoted. When I queried it prior to arrival, I was advised that they don't think that booking.com should tell them how to run their business and will charge such fees, despite Booking.com's policies. The owner was also rude at check in. We avoided any interaction after that and unfortunately won't be back. Such a shame as it's a beautiful place.

This place was lovely, From the breakfast hamper and fresh bread and crossaints of a morning. Also, the lovely chocolates and port that were supplied. To the beautiful birds that greeted us on the verandah. The fireplace that kept us warm had a wonderful stay. Was very private also which was awesome. We will definitely be back.

That the hotwater didn't work in the bathroom sink . But that's my only dislike.

Loved that it was so private. Beautiful rustic cottage, gorgeous spa bath, great views. In particular I loved the complimentary delicacies from local vendors. Cheeseboard, yoghurt, jams.

No phone signal - SOS only - but that can be common for the area, nothing against the property itself. Just need to mindful of it if you’re planning to stay there.
