The Vagabond house is very, very quiet and in the off peak season you might have it all to yourself. In my case, I wasn't the only guest, but as each person has their own room it was very convenient. The shared bathroom/laundry is really large and very suitable for the situation. There's no kitchen but the large hallway has the facilities for heating food or making a cup of tea or coffee. Its an informal cottage style that allows people on a budget, a comfortable and peaceful place to stay and its such a short walk to the famous jetty that its almost on the doorstep. Port Germein is an exceptionally peaceful, tranquil village with not much in the way of amenities but if you get there early enough you might be lucky to catch the cafe open or the gallery. Its worth staying in town a few days to relax into the very slow rhythm that matches the slow dodge tides along this coast.

There's a sign asking guests to keep the screen door closed and unfortunately one of the other house guests interpreted this as to keep the screen door locked! Meaning I was locked out as there's no key supplied. Don't worry, it was very quickly solved but I'm noting this here as a caution to guests, not to lock other guests out (and to the hosts, to improve the signage to clarify that closed doesn't mean locked). Everything else was fab for a budget stay in the quietest town on the eastern coast of Spencer Gulf.

The location and price. The host was informative. The room large and clean.

The room is one of three rooms that are part of the hosts residence. There were notes around telling you what you could or couldn’t do/use. For example there was a washing machine in the shared bathroom, but that was not for guest’s use.

A short walk to the beach, very quiet other than a train passing in the distance, friendly host, fuss-free and relaxed.

Not a complaint, a suggestion to enclose the shower and toilet so those areas are separate and available while the alternate amenity is being used.

I just needed a place to shower and sleep and this was perfect, I was stressed when I arrived because it was around 10pm and incredibly dark however I was able to find it fine and the bathroom was so beautiful and same with the bedroom, I loved the historic look and vibes about it! Will definitely return in the future

Very Friendly hosts, cosy room and we were served a very delicious dinner. Quiet location had a fantastic night's sleep.

Fantastic size room with heater, tv and even room for a couch. Loved the high ceilings and the renovated shared bathroom. The heater in my room was on when I arrived to I would be comfortable and I was greeted and shown the main features as I arrived.

Netflix worked with no issues. Bed was comfortable. Awesome cooked breakfast. Short walk to the jetty and other sights.

Electric blanket on the left side of the bed didn’t work.

Didn't order breakfast. The house was lovely and beautifully decorated, the room huge and airy and the hosts caring and hospitable. The town is a lovely holiday destination.

Perhaps a small fridge and a reading light by the bed would be nice, but these are small things.

Room was large & furnished with a fridge. Microwave & kettle & utensils available in a shared space.

Advertised as a BnB which normally suggests that breakfast is supplied..Breakfast could be bought. Just some bread & spreads provided for toasting would be useful, given the BnB status
