Port Albert in April is very quiet and exceptionally beautiful without the summer tourists, and the Port Albert Motel is on the site of the historic hotel, opposite the jetty. I can recommend a detour to this charming historic port, for the beauty of the lake and the wildlife. IThe motel rooms are simple, but perfectly good for a stay of a day or two. There are no staff at the motel, but you can reach Denise by phone, and she will open the door for you. The room was spotless, with everything you might want - tea, coffee, wine and other drinks from the mini-bar. The beds were large and comfortable, designed for a family. Only the shower room was a bit old, but perfectly functional. The Fish and Chips restaurant on the jetty is not to be missed, though it is only open until ~3pm during the off-season. We would certainly stay again when we have the opportunity.

This was an easy stay. You book you pay and details are sent to you or ring the nice lady on the number provided. We will be back no hesitations. Rooms are clean and comfortable heater worked well when it got a bit nippy one night. Not many rooms as i heard some burnt when the pub burnt. Also a mini bar is provided if required. There is also a BBQ area for use. I didnt give top marks for everything as there is always room for improvement. Walking distance to everything in Port Albert.. Give it a go i dont think you will be disappointed.

The remote check-in worked at treat. Room was clean, well appointed, had everything I needed & more. Shower was hot and good pressure, parking right at the door & bed super comfy. Heater worked great, utensils etc were more than adequate and a very nice little mini bar was well stocked and priced. Location is fantastic, always a pleasure to visit Port Albert. Fabulous sunrises, great food places and friendly people.

Nothing really. Not a criticism but is roughly a 1980s motel originally, so shower was older style but very clean and functional. As I said, not a criticism.

There is bbq facilities and fish n chips available very close. Great for a quick getaway for a weekend 😃 or a week. Down the road is Yarram which has a supermarket and plenty of op shops and cafes, With paintings in the town. Port Albert has a maratime museum which unfortunately this time around we didn't get to go to. There is some great walks in town to check out the great little fishing town it'self. Probably some great fishing too off the little piers(has five). Motel itself is small and adequate for how many people come through. Great wifi and DVD TVs and DVDs available if you just want to chill in the rooms. Not so sure about local taxi/s as I didn't use but heard a few stories. Can catch vline bus from Melbourne to Alberton and then either walk to port Albert for about 2 hours or find a local taxi service (no uber available). Great coffee at post office service station.

Maybe some extra shampoo and conditioner for the family rooms and sheets for bunks just incase a bunk bed is needed.

Beds were very comfortable Shower head and water pressure was also awesome!

We got in late and only 1 food joint open for dinner. And nothing open early for breakfast. Room had tea coffee etc , toaster sandwich press, also some jams, vegemites but would of been nice if their was a loaf of bread to go with it, for being in a remote location and lack of stores. Shower floor needs to be re-tiled as it looked old and dirty and worn.

the location was perfect and the beds were sooo comfy and loads of extra pillows and blankets were great! the heater worked well and all in all the room was nice and clean. the cupboards with the dvds and toys were great idea and the kids loved having a movie night on the beds.

overall the room was great, just maybe think about updating the storage cupboards as well as adding a few more bowls and plates to suit the number of guests etc. it was great and had everything we need but only found 2 bowls and spoons, for a room of 5 guests. the coffee pods supplied were half used too, we managed to have enough but that might be something to check too. :)

Don't forget to buy groceries in the nearby town - Woolworths Yarram. Wine for a reasonable price can be found in the minibar. Surprisingly good inexpensive restaurant next to the hotel - VerSicilia Ristorante, I recommend. And look into the local museum - Port Albert Maritime Museum. The hotel is very cozy, P.S. + king size mattress!

motel was situated right near the water, the jetty was across the road, nice quiet little village. bed was very comfortable and room was a great price , clean with easy check in. had everything we needed to survive 2 nights.

room was a little small for a family. esp older children but was fair priced for what it was.

The location is sensational. The price was very reasonable and the king-sized bed in the king suite was very comfortable. The room is very well equipped for a motel room - microwave, toaster, coffee machine, dining table and seating area. Our hostess, Denise, was very friendly and helpful.

The only negative is that the ensuite bathroom is a bit basic and old fashioned with a bit of rising damp in the walls but very clean and well stocked.

The room was light and spacious and very comfortable. There were only a few rooms at the motel and it was lovely and peaceful

Not a negative but something to think about as Port Albert is small you may need to drive for somewhere to eat. We arrived on a Monday and had a 10min drive to Alberton. On Tuesday we had fish and chips at the cafe/take away which is open lunchtimes.
