The location could not have been better with an easy walk down the street to nearby eateries and shops. The room was very spacious with a comfy sofa and the decor was very nice. The bathroom was very spacious and clean and provided all the amenities we needed.

Unfortunately, as a disabled person and senior person I found the bed too high to get into and the mattress quite hard and uncomfortable for me. However, I did enjoy the serenity of the place and there were no steps to climb as we could park in front of our unit and I was able to use my scooter to explore the town from there which was truly a bonus and made my husband and my stay all the more enjoyable.

Great location within walking distance of dining options, the river and shops. Plenty of parking and good-sized rooms.

The admin lady at check-in was a little intense but friendly after repeatedly informing us she did indeed send the access code. It didn't't matter if she had sent the code the issue was that I didn't have it and all three phone numbers for the hotel (booking.com, and on the physical building) were disconnected. If we hadn't headed into the antique shop as it was closing I am unsure how we would've got in contact. Great place, stay there but message to the owners - please update your contact numbers!!

A repeat visit to the York Pace. We stayed again in one of terrace rooms at the rear of the hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. It’s a king bed and the bathroom is also very large. Staff were friendly and helpful and we appreciated the easy contactless check in with friendly text updates from the manager, Nola.

Lighting was a little dim for reading and playing cards but otherwise fine.

Our lamps were quite dusty. Also our patio door was unlocked when we arrived and i only thought to check it as last year when we stayed in the same room it was also unlocked which is a little concerning as it is ground level so people could just walk in.

The owners were wonderful to interact with. The room was spacious, well-appointed, and very comfortable. The veranda was a perfect spot at the end of the day. The hotel had tremendous character and was a treat to stay at.

The staff were lovely, friendly and informative. Richard had turned on our heating prior to arrival and gave us some ideas on where to eat. The furniture fitted the style of the property and in great condition

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable.

It would be improved by the simple addition of tissues and some bottled water.

It is beautiful old hotel with so history attached to a historic town.

It would have e been lovely if the eatery was open - but it is a hangover of covid and small towns.

Perfectly located. Quiet but central to everything in York.

I prefer a softer mattress but that's a personal choice and i understand that every person's personal choice can not be taken into account.
