The new young gentleman who takes cares of the guests cars and suitcases represents perfectly your 5*. All the ladies at the reception are just perfect. The bar tender is the best of the world and the young waiter with short blond hair makes you fell high in a minute. Shortly, you are the best of the best, congratulations and see you soon…

My wife disagrees if I sell our house to come live in your hotel

This is a beautiful hotel with warm, welcoming staff. We stayed for our honeymoon and the hotel certainly made us feel special. The breakfast is amazing, the rooms are gorgeous and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. We stayed for 3 nights originally but loved it so much we opted to stay for an additional 2 nights. Perfectly located in the centre of Bruges too.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful historic building that is nicely decorated and has great common drawing rooms to sit in and nice reception area. The christmas trees and decorations were especially outstanding and the christmas feature in the garden looked lovely. Our room was very nice with huge bed and nice shower. Really nice busy hotel bar that was well managed - went there 3 times and though it looked full they always found us a table and service was pretty quick. Overall I thought it lived up to its 5 star status.

Only a few minor comments. Small toiletries in bathroom but ok - e.g. small tube of shower gel though new one received each day. Tea and coffee in room was fine but only had creamer. I prefer milk to creamer even if has to be uht. No iron or ironing board in room though we didn't particularly need one its just something that is maybe expected in a five star? None of these things detracted on our stay - we had a great time.

Wonderful historical building, well kept, near the centre of Bruges. Very large room with huge bed. Cozy common space near the reception and a private garden (not used because of the weather). Helpful staff. An incredibly reach breakfast (it is the first time I see champagne available at breakfast, even if it was Spanish cava)

Difficult to reach by taxi (our driver was not of Bruges and got lost in spite of the navigator). No possibility to regulate the tenperature in the room. When we arrived, it was very cold and they offered us an electric heater. From the following day it was evenn too warm, and we had to open windows.

How often do you get the chance to live in a palace? This was the palace where Charles the Bold and his daughter Mary of Burgundy lived (and indeed where she passed). The hotel is beautiful and is nicely located in Bruges, close to everything but not in the middle of it all. That is to say, you get the best of both worlds. Our room had a city view with big windows, allowing you to see the entire Bruges skyline, listen to the bells, and see one of the golden statues of the Duke’s Palace that adorn the roofline. The bathroom was spacious and had a separate bathtub and shower cabin. There was a window from the bathroom into the main room, which was nice. Breakfast had many options, including a station where you could carve your own Belgium chocolate (dark, milk, and white) with a two-handled knife! There were lots of fresh fruit options, waffles, and even sparkling wine. Many standard breakfast foods were available in the buffet, but omelets and lactose-free coffee options are available when you ask. The back room of the dining area is a little dark and not as nice as the front part, which has a wall of windows which allows you to see the palace while you eat. A coffeemaker is in the room, and we asked for a tea kettle and bottle opener from the front desk. There is a nice souvenir store just around the corner that stays open later than the other stores and sells a good variety of Belgium beers (and other things). We enjoyed staying in the Palace and it added to the experience of being in historic Bruges.

Excellent location, all the best sites are within walking distance. The garden terrace is beautiful and quiet, with attentive staff who will bring drinks and snacks. The breakfast rooms are a delight, with staff to supply tea and coffee as you help yourself to the varied buffet (including bubbly!), including fruit, cheeses and yoghurt. Sadly, the menu doesn't stretch to mushrooms (as a vegetarian, I have no need of bacon or sausages). The lounges are comfortable and quiet, the hotel staff are all friendly and helpful.

The room, although immaculate and comfortable, lacked mirrors of female height. The step-in shower caused some flooding and the shower head wouldn't stay at the correct height.

Our room was very comfortable with an excellent shower. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were all welcoming and went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel is in an excellent position close to the main square and the main sights.

The hotel car park is under ground and accessed from the rear of the property. Driving in Bruges with its one way streets and traffic restrictions can be a challenge and it is unfortunate that access to the Hotel from the car park is up a set of narrow and black steps which these older guests found difficult. There is a service lift staff use for luggage, but guests must tackle the stairs or head back into Bruges' mesh of one way streets.

Wow! I believe it must be a converted (modernised) castle. A magnificent building, exquisitely furnished and appointed, overflowing with real character. In contrast with attitudes of some Belgians in years past, every single person we met in this hotel was outstanding in every way. Friendly, Helpful. Keen to give immaculate service. I have never seen better in the finest 5 Star hotels. All aspects of our stay were genuinely 5-Star. Robes and slippers in the room, great towels of all sizes changed daily, a turn down service each evening with Belgian chocolates left on the bedside. Water bottles, tea and coffee replenished every day. A beautiful atmosphere. Pure CLASS! The whole experience was reminiscent of the finest standards of hotels in years gone by, Absolute delight and completely faultless. THIS is how to manage a hotel. As for location, it is right in the middle of the beautiful old town of Brugges, Left the car untouched in the hotel garage and walked for days. Nothing is too far away. The room was gorgeous, spacious and very comfortable, The breakfast offered everything imaginable.

The only thing that could have been better was that I wish we could have stayed longer.

Luxurious and the hotel itself is immaculate, it is kept in pristine condition which is an incredible achievement for those staff that maintain the building and grounds. The room was superb, pure comfort, world class bed and pillows which is imperative for a 5 star hotel. The staff were all a testament to the hotel.

The spa should be free for hotel guests. I've never ever come across a 5 star hotel or any hotel in my 25 years of travel that charges an additional amount to use their spa. When you're paying hundreds, the spa should be included. The breakfast was adequate, not great in comparison with hotels in the same price range.

It’s a beautiful hotel. Our room was very cool as it was just off of a chapel. Our room had 2 floors with. King bed in the first floor and a twin on the second floor. The only negative is that the bathroom is on the second floor of the hotel room. Not a big deal for us but could be a problem for someone with mobility issues.

Nothing really. I like over easy eggs and at breakfast buffet they had scrambled and hard boiled eggs on the second day I asked our waiter if I could order over easy and he said yes. I wish I knew that on day one.
