Location is great! Bed very comfy. Working fan in wardrobe very appreciated. Daily room cleaning by a very friendly team. Easy phone-based access to hotel entrance and room. Responsive reception, even out of hours.

Price is a bit too high for what's on offer - although clean, the room lacked facilities like mini fridge, kettle and airco. But it looks like hotels in Mechelen are quite expensive in general. Bathroom design in our room meant a struggle to get into the shower as the toilet blocked the shower door which could only be opened halfway. So happy our fan worked as without it we would have struggled with the heat.

The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast with a view on the cathedral was a very inspiring start of the day.

The check-in was done in a different place, and the lady at the reception there was not attentive - she kept talking over the phone whilst there was a queue at the reception... my reservation was paid in advance, but she still attempted to get hold of my card data, claiming it was not paid yet, so beware of that. And later she claimed, that the breakfast was not paid for - so be sure to keep all the receipts with you. Also the room key was for some reason programmed to end at around 08.30 am, even though the checkout was at 10 am, so that was another problem to solve.

It is located right in the city center and very easy to find, room was very clean, bed and pillows are comfortable. "Electronic key" is a very nice thing. We did not have breakfast as we needed to leave very early, so can't comment on it.

It is not written anywhere that the reception desk closes at 7pm. Actually, in my booking it was written that it works until midnight. Well, it is not a big problem as you can check-in and get your key at their "sister" hotel in 0.5km distance, but still would be nice to mention it in advance.

Great location, smack in the middle of Mechelen, 100m away from the Cathedral and the Central Square. Nice breakfast, in a great room (same as in the official pictures) Cozy rooms, cozy bathrooms: but you get all you need, and all is clean, new, and in perfect working condition

The hotel is all "automated": you enter the main door using an app, and that way you also open your room door. You check out via email... and never meet a human being, other than the cleaning ladies and someone in the breakfast room. It's ok, but it would be better to know that one person is at the reception in case you need help. (to be honest, there's a phone number and someone WILL pick up)

It's a really good location although the photos online look a bit better than the actual room. It's a bit dated, but for the price we paid, it's a really good sleep. One of the cleaning ladies (i think she was from Romania) was actually super attentive when we needed an iron. There was no receptionist there, at least we did not see one, as they provide a digital key instead.

The rooms were smaller and more dated than what the photos show. The bathroom did not have shower gel the first night, but it was filled up the next day.

The location is fantastic and the rooms and public areas are very tasteful. It operates as a sort of annex of Hotel Elisabeth. I arrived early and checked-in at Hotel Elisabeth where the staff were very kind and helpful - I was given access to my room early and someone showed me the way to the hotel. While I was there, there were no staff at all in the building and I think I was the only guest (at least on one evening). It felt very strange being alone in a building of this size.

Access to the room and to the hotel is via an app on your phone. Although this worked well, I was anxious throughout my stay that there may be a problem with the internet connection which would have made access impossible. Although this didn't happen, I would much prefer a traditional key or keycard.

Very basic situation, rent the room, sleep in it. No bells or whistles whatsoever. Excellent location just off the square.

The online key thing is cool but I think impractical for travellers. I had to turn my phone off one of the days to make sure I could open the room when I got back after a day trip away. Place is basically an offshoot of Elizabeth Hotel, and didn't find their staff the friendliest to deal with. This place is only staffed from 2 to 6 and she was lovely.

Trash bags on the terrace of the neighbouring building could be seen from the room (no big deal, though) Internet connection was lacking when I tried to pay by card - the amount had to be deducted from my account with the computer, which was a good solution but took a bit of time (no big deal, though) Breakfast was a bit too expensive for us

Cleanliness and location were excellent.

Neighborhood can get quite noisy. Cathedral bells, party street. There was also some renovations in a nearby building. This conbined with lack of AC meant we had to keep the windows open for any kind of air circulation, which negatively impacted our quality of sleep.

There was no keycard to enter the room, it was via a website which is fine. However, when entering the room a key was needed to start the electricity. Luckily we had plenty of membership card that we could use and which worked but not everyone would know this
