they have a sewer pipe issue. my room was uninhabitable. they moved us but it’s hard to get that smell out of your nose.

Very pleasant staff,interesting historical building,quiet rooms,pretty good bed,balcony overlooked small pool. VERY GOOD VALUE. It's a good 5-10 minute walk to the main "tourist"street,but the walk there is down a few streets with charming historical buildings. This hotel seemed much better than a few others I walked past . It's by no means luxury-but perfectly fine for a short stay. Very nice young guy at front desk is learning English and the owner/manager(?) is a sophisticated woman who speaks English,and explained to me the history of the building. The historical area of Porto Seguro is a fascinating place to spend a day or two.
Air conditioner seemed to operate at one speed only-but not a problem as I slept well with balcony doors open,and air conditioner turned off.
