Babel Siem Reap Guesthouse was a welcome oasis, almost like coming home each night. Walking into the garden/lounge from the heat of the street was always a relief after long days of sight-seeing. The rooms could be a little sparse but comfortable enough. The food from the restaurant was excellent. One of the main attractions when researching accommodation in Siem Reap, and the reason we chose the Babel Guesthouse, was their commitment to sustainable tourism. On one night we ate dinner at another property where the rooms cost twice as much and our meals were either not available or came out overcooked. We were happy to get back to Babel. Would happily recommend Babel Siem Reap Guesthouse and would definitely hope to return one day.

Would have appreciated a fridge although for the price we managed to survive without one.

Our family of teenage daughters loved staying at Babel. It was very clean, very comfortable, had a lovely relaxed vibe and extremely helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast and lunches we ordered were tasty and good value, there was no need to find anywhere else for breakfast. Cold beers and wine were also welcome at the end of the day. The service from the tuktuk drivers was fantastic! Soujit picked us up from the airport and continued to be our tuk tuk driver, with Map with us throughout. They were relaxed, friendly, knowledgeable and had cold water and fresh towels on the hot days we were exploring the temples. Thank you Soujit and Map!! We would definitely recommend Babel to anyone and would stay there again.

Clean and spacious rooms, nice breakfast, nice pool, free water refill (when available), nice temple tours for competitive prices and amazing tuktuk drivers (we strongly recommend Mr Map!)

The water refill station was often empty and when we asked to refill it we had to help the receptionist with carrying the water, while there were more than enough employees that could help which was weird but ok. Also the receptionists were often a bit clueless when asking normal questions ( like pool times or how to let us pay the bill) and their english wasn’t always the best. We also did not like that you have to go around the hotel without shoes but still the floor in the corridor is very dirty, it was a bit disgusting. Also the mattress in the room was hard.

The staff and the tuktuk drivers were super friendly and always happy to help out no matter what question or request we had. The guesthouse is nicely situated, just for walking to the central market it’s a bit far (around 25 minutes) but the street is calm and easy to find. The guesthouse also provides a small selection of dishes and the ones we tried were very tasty!

the room looked a bit more used than on the pictures, it’s not too bad but still not as shown. the bed was quite uncomfortable.

Amazing host and staff helped us organise activities around Siem Reap, the food and drinks were great and we especially appreciated the water cooler where we could top up our water without having to buy more plastic bottles. They are really focused on sustainability which is amazing. The accommodation was good for the price, we did not have time to try the swimming pool because we were too busy exploring temples and Siem Reap. The tuk tuk driver and the guide the guesthouse organised for us were great and we had an amazing time exploring temples and learning about the history.

The lock on bathroom door was broken which meant the door did not close but easily fixable.

Wonderful hotel with a perfect location, super friendly staff and an overall calm and really relaxing vibe. The focus on environmental sustainability and ethical tourism with a well stocked boutique to support the cause must also be highlighted. In addition the hotel provides tours which is reasonably priced and support their local tuk-yuk drivers. My favourite part of staying at Babel was the restaurant which provided me with my new favourite dish: the super savory mushroom tacos. I would not pick another place to stay in Siem Reap. 10/10!

Great relaxing outside areas, shaded garden, great for kids. Staff were attentive, friendly. Tours, trips, bikes easily arranged. Lots of eco products and refills available. Room was comfortable. Really enjoyed our stay.

Not really Babels fault but quite a few mosquitos so take plenty of repellent and, as there are no mosquito nets, spray for the room.

We loved this place, beautiful pool and restaurant area, tasty drinks and food (best vege tacos ever!), lovely big-hearted hosts with great sense for decoration, kind and helpfull staff, lots of amazing sustainable initiatives, including little eco-friendly shop. We also highly recommend village tour with Dara that we booked at Babel - Dara is amazing person, warm, kind, he will tell you all about their living, invite you to their home and his wife will make amazing lunch (omg we didn’t know how tasty a lotus flower can be!!). We have spent overall more than 4 months traveling around Asia and this is definitely one of the best stays! We could easily stay here and explore Siem Reap for more weeks, so make sure you book for long enough:) We hope we get back someday soon!

We loved the convenient location and the relaxed and friendly atmosphere around the whole property. Staff were wonderfully helpful and attentive. The pool area was lovely and the bar and restaurant were a pleasure to spend time in.

The only thing that wasn’t great for us was the air conditioning unit in our room. It just didn’t seem to be powerful enough to cool the room efficiently which made sleeping a little uncomfortable. We were on the top floor and it was noticeably hotter there so maybe that’s why the air con unit struggled.

I enjoyed the vibe, I appreciate how the staff are valued. It was a bit chaotic with a tour group of teenagers there, but they were also fun to be around. There was a guidebook made by the hotel in our room that discussed different things to do in the area in good detail.

I really wanted to be able to use this hotel as a location for an small upcoming yoga retreat I am planning in Siem Reap, but alas there was no suitable space (meeting room or outdoor space) of large enough size for something like that to happen.
