The cabin is nicely decorated and it offered a very cozy, relaxed atmosphere which we needed for our vacation. The owners have also done a great job to provide experiences for all seasons and they have a restaurant on site for the guests' convenience, though we didn't use it as we had a good kitchen space inside our cabin. We loved the fire pit by the water for our evening stargazing, and the location was awesome! We took day trips to a couple of provincial parks and nearby towns.

My only recommendation would be to replace the mattresses.

Loved everything about this place, right on the lake, immersed in nature with Bancroft just a quick drive away. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and extremely clean, the beds comfortable. Mike is a great host, friendly and ready with tips for hikes and activities. The fire by the lake in the evenings was a very nice touch. On our last morning we also had breakfast in the resort's restaurant, cooked by Mike, and it was delicious. Plenty of parking space. Only regret, not being able to spend more time at the resort, chilling and enjoying the scenery.

We had a lovely time at the resort, it's small, quiet and run very well. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had a King Room with Lake View and even the balcony appeared to have ben swept so it was a pleasure to sit outside without spider webs! Sitting on the peaceful dock was a pleasure and canoes/kayaks were available. They have the fire pit going in the evening.

Unfortunately they didn't have enough staff yet to open the restaurant but they could bring food to your room. Also Netflix wasn't working but they have lots of cable channels.

We were very delighted with out stay at Somerset lakeside resort. We stayed here for 10 days and still wished we had more time. The owner really helped us with where to go to explore the amazing scenery in the area. The room was nice and clean and the service was excellent! We’ve enjoyed multiple cozy campfires near the lake, Overall, a great place to enjoy the amazing nature in a calm environment!

Amazing lake view from room. Modern room with balcony and modern bathroom. Free parking. Fridge in room. Tablet in room with suggestions on what to do and where to eat. Camp fires every evening

Too small trash can. Room was quite noisy, woke up every morning from the breakfast room being set up or other guests talking in the corridor. Bed was uncomfortable and it sounded like we were lying on plastic

We stayed for one night on the way to take one of our kids to camp in the area. Somerset was a treat. It is close to the main road which was a concern when we arrived however it didn’t impact at all as noise was barley noticeable - if this is putting you off don’t worry. The room was exceptionally clean and well set out and nicer than the photos show which often doesn’t happen! The floating dock, canoes and other things were a treat and the water was super clear clean and warm. We swam morning and night. We ate at the restaurant and enjoyed the food. The lady serving was just a super star and so lovely however she is doing the serving and cooking so be aware of this as, even with her working at pace, if everyone arrives at the same time it can be a little slow. But if you are on cottage time then this is not an issue. This is no criticism of the person working there as they did a wonderful job - just could see that when the restaurant is full some support may have helped. As said above, food was lovely and I really enjoyed it. What I would say is that if you would like to have a drink on the dock or outside - they don’t really have drinks other than cans of beer/gin that you can leave the restaurant with. I would have just preferred a glass of wine but this is being really picky on a small point. All in all - I was very impressed with the rooms, service and staff. We are already talking about going back when we pick the kids up from camp.

Nothing else that needs noting.

The location was beautiful, the staff friendly, and because it was off-season we had the place virtually to ourselves. A lovely, relaxing spot.

WiFi was poor (non-existent in our room) except in the lounge, but that was understandable because of the rather remote location. A handrail along paths to the dining room and waterfront would have been helpful, as would a shallower step at the entrance to our unit.

When I booked the resort I thought I would be travelling alone; however, my daughter decided to accompany me on the way to pick up our new puppy. The resort was perfect for me, an able minded person, but my daughter has mobility issues and uses a walker/canes so the facility wasn’t ideal for her needs. Nevertheless, staff was quite pleasant and helpful in ensuring her comfort- parking in front of room, suggestions regarding best way to enter restaurant and selecting best table for us to enjoy a delicious dinner and breakfast.Hats off to the restaurant chefs! We both loved the room and restaurant decor!

In a perfect world the resort would have one accessible room with wedge slope entry and accessible shower and easy access to restaurant and water.

I liked all the activities you could do at the property You could rent a kayak or canoe at no extra cost. There was a fire by the lakeside in the evening. There were board games inside and games outside. Also there's bbqs to use. Or you could just relax by the lake and enjoy the view. The rooms were spacious and beautiful.

Lots of mosquitos and bugs. It would be great if the hotel had some spray available for customers.

Very nice lakeside property with very comfortable and nicely renovated rooms. Spacious and elegant! The dock is nice with water-sport equipment. We enjoyed the community fire at 7.30pm. Caitlin was very nice and accommodating!

They really rushed us out at 11am even though it was a Monday. Also the dock was super windy so couldn’t enjoy it during the two days stay.
