Hotel was very comfortable and had a very friendly atmosphere. The rooms were spacious enough for our one night stay, and very clean. We were new to the area but the hotel is located in a very quiet area which was very nice. We would definitely go back again if the opportunity arises. Great value for the money.

Just a couple of small details in the actual hotel rooms we had. There was no chair to sit on. Even a straightback chair would have been nice. There is no closet so to have a couple of hooks in the actual room to hang clothes would have helped. The only hook was in the bathroom. One last thing was the a/c. I appreciate it is expensive, but even to have a fan in the rooms without a/c would be nice in the summer to keep the air circulating.

By far the best location in Berry Bay for hotel accommodations. Parking was ample and staff were friendly. Uniquely, this was the TV experience of my hotel life! It’s often overlooked, but hotel TVs are huge contributing factor to comfort. Too often they’re confusing and inconvenient. After a long trip my partner and I really appreciated the ease in navigating.

It’s not exactly anyone’s ‘fault’ but there were spiders in every corner of the ceiling. One of which was huge! Not a big deal really, just slightly uncomfortable as they had to be ‘disposed’ of.

Conveniently located in town. Friendly proprietor, very helpful as we were traveling with a one year old who was ill and crying. She came to the door with a stack of kids' books which were very helpful.

Unfortunately, the restaurant and bar are closed, although the owner is looking for someone to operate it. I recall it was a good spot to eat and have a beer.

I think a wall mirror in the rooms would be useful. The one mirror in the washroom was just not enough when more than one person is getting ready for the day! I would have liked it if the dining room was open a little longer and open for breakfast. Since if was not open for breakfast we were scrambling to find a breakfast place. It would be nice if the Balmoral provided menus/locations of good breakfast places in the rooms.

Stayed one night for work . It's older style hotel with character. Nice location in center of town . Unfortunately the restaurant was closed due to slow season but will make up for it some other time . Rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. Very pleasant owner . Hotel is highly recommended.

I love that the building and the area has a unique history. I love that the hotel continues to be used as a hotel (with upgraded plumbing and electrical) while keeping it's original charm. The owner is very friendly. Her conversation about the hotel shows her appreciation of the Balmoral's significance in the community and her commitment to maintaining it's usefulness as a commuity meeting place and comfort as a hotel.

There could be more electrical outlets that are strategically located for things like laptops, cellphones, etc.

Everything about the hotel was good. The owner of the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel room was clean. It had a comfortable bed, easy to use shower and it was easy to charge my phone and use wifi. The location was excellent and was close to everything in town.

There was nothing I didn’t like. I would stay here again if I went back to Barry’s Bay.

- Nice looking hotel with plenty of parking for guests. - The staff is friendly. - Location is great, close to grocery, restaurants, gas station. Also close to many lakes with about 15mins drive. - Great value

- Water pressure in the bathroom is affected whenever the next room uses their taps/bathroom - No where to hang our clothes. They should install some hooks on wall

Bed was excellent, room felt very clean, quiet at night though right in town. Building historic and interesting but nicely upgraded. Food at Bistro downstairs was delicious.

Hallway carpeting was really old and dirty ... no doubt will be renovated at some point like the rest ... probably some nice old wood under there! Bathroom door didn't lock/close well. I prefer there to be a separate bar for the fresh towels and towels in use ... with one bar, they end up all getting wet and needing washed even if only a couple are used.

Interesting history of hotel; clean room & comfortable bed; had a restaurant and a bar. (No breakfast though.) Owner was very nice and helpful. Bed was nice - and a king; candies in room, a nice touch!

Room a little small but we were ok with that. Tv was annoying and finally figured it out for the most part, the next morning. A small coffee maker would have been nice. Also, badly needs a few shelves in bathroom to put stuff. (No where to put toiletries.) Maybe other rooms are better for that? Also no closet or hangers. I had a few I brought - my sister did not. The traffic/trucks get a bit noisy early in the a.m; a tad pricey until the rooms are improved upon.
