A totally enjoyable and centrally-located downtown hotel. Modern "industrial" vibe, stylish furnishings, pool table, lounge and work spaces and a caffe/bar. Spacious room with queen-size bed, comfy mattress/duvet/pillows, sitting area, ample lighting, closet with hangers, desk, large TV, coffee-maker, small fridge, large bathroom with nice towels and toiletries. Super-friendly and helpful reception and staff members.

Not a huge issue, but if you are a light sleeper and your room (on a higher floor) faces a rooftop with HVAC system, please note that there is a continuous hum. While not terribly loud, the sound is always in the background. I don't know if lower floors are also affected by this sound.

The hotel was very accomodating to requests (ie. late checkout). The room was nice and I really enjoyed having the Nespresso machine in the room.

We had asked for late checkout but our keys were disabled regardless. The keys were reactivated with no issue which was nice. However, I had to make two trips to bring out our belongings and the keys were disabled a second time even though it was still before the late checkout time. I had to wait in line of people checking out to have the keys reactivated a second time. I found that to be very inconvenient.

Very clean hotel, friendly staff and a very cute, fun atmosphere. (Each floor has their own colour theme). Location is close to the subway station and bus stops. 15 minutes walk from the parliament building which is great.

I’ve seen some reviews about the room size. To be honest it was good enough for me (I was by myself so I think I liked it, it wasn’t that small). But it might be different for two people. Also there wasn’t a garbage bag for the garbage in the washroom, I felt bad throwing garbage in it without a bag but I didn’t have one either so that was a bit odd. Other than that I think everything was very nice! Didn’t get a chance to check out the lil bar downstairs, but it looks very nice. I’m sure I’ll be back soon!

Everything!! Adored this hotel in Ottawa. From the musical ambience at the entrance to the comfort of our room. In summary: - Excellent location in the heart of downtown. - Public transport access (metro & bus) around the corner from the hotel. - The hotel offers a restaurant (food for purchase), a bar and a café on site. Street restaurants, cafés, grocery shops, and pharmacy at walking distance from the hotel. - Smiley and helpful staff. - Room (Queen room): Mattress, bed linen, and pillows were incredibly comfortable and delicious. Nespresso machine with complementary pods replenished daily. Tea, sugar, and coffee mate pods too. Bella Pella high quality products (hand liquid soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hydrating body milk!) are a smart and great touch to the room. Hair dryer, flat screen smart TV, alarm clock. - Ensuite bathroom: clean and comfortable shower, WC, and sink. Efficient water system providing hot water in 2 seconds - another super plus! Alt Hotel Ottawa has a small and well equipped gym, ice machines (levels 7 & 12), complementary computers with Internet access, and beautiful lounge area in the lobby.

Room and premises were spotless clean, modern equipment/bathroom. Love the fact that it's also an sustainability-certified hotel. There are no extraneous wrappers for soap, or those little sample size plastic bottles. You scan a QR code for the hotel guide. Location is in the business district, 5 min walk from Parliament Hill and 10 min walk to Byward Market and Rideau Centre. Very quiet at night, I felt I was alone on the floor!

The view from the room was disappointing. Although on the 10th floor, maybe I was just unlucky and got a view to a dismal, closed-off narrow alley with no sunlight. However natural light was OK during the day. The cafe downstairs is very basic, but good if you don't want to go out. There is also a bar but it closes at 11 pm (although it says 2 am in the room...), so maybe not the best place for a last call on the weekend.

Clean. Sophisticated/modern look which I liked. I liked that you couldn't operate the elevator without your room card, so that provided extra security. Staff were super helpful.

No microwave or fridge in the rooms. I asked for fridge which I graciously got; however they didn't have a microwave to offer so i had to eat my leftovers lukewarm. I think microwave and fridge should be part of basic amenities offered in every hotel room.

The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the smart design of the rooms. Every aspect of the room was thoughtfully laid out, maximizing comfort and functionality in an aesthetically pleasing way. It was evident that great care was taken in the design to ensure a seamless and enjoyable stay for guests. The staff at the hotel is great. From the moment we arrived, they were welcoming and friendly. They went above and beyond by allowing us to check in earlier than the stated time, which was a great convenience. They were attentive and helpful throughout our stay, promptly assisting us with various requests.

The air conditioning unit in our room was noticeably loud, which was a bit disruptive, especially during the night. Additionally, the bathroom door was designed like a saloon door, which meant it couldn't be locked and lacked sound isolation. This design choice, while unique, didn't offer much in terms of privacy and noise control.

Bright large room with comfortable bed. Central location in walking distance to most attractions.

Bathroom floor quite dusty on arrival and there was a. Piece of fluff in the sink. Towels being changed daily when specifically left hung up and on last day bath mat and hand towels where removed but not replaced even when requested at reception on my way out in the evening. Goat cafe didn’t always have items on their breakfast menu available. A damage deposit of $50/night taken on checkin that takes up to 5 days to be refunded after checkout. Only discovered this when I realised the amount was higher than my confirmation notification and queried the amount taken the next morning.

The hotel allowed us to check in 2.5 hours early with no issues. The check-in/check-out staff were very friendly. There is no parking at the hotel specifically but there is a public parking garage across the street. Just be aware that you have to enter and exit the parking garage from one street over from the hotel. The hotel and room were pristinely clean. We had A/C on overnight and it worked well. The bed was also comfortable. There is a smart TV that you can cast your phone to if you’re connected to wifi so we could watch our Netflix shows. Love that! You also have to use your room key to make the lights work to make things more energy efficient. Very cool.

The only issue we found was with the shower. The shower has a very long spout at the bottom by your feet. We hit the back of our heels on a few times while showering. This happens because the rainhead isn’t far enough out from the wall so you have to stand very close to the spout. It hurts when you hit that.
