The best was the staff and the atmosphere. Going into the hotel after negotiating the urban jungle in Shenzhen was a heavenly moment. Everyone did their absolute best to accommodate us, and we gladly upgraded to the Horizon club. It was a bit crowded a couple of times, but this is not something the staff can do anything about. I would certainly recommend it, this hotel would be my choice for next time too. And yes, the swimming pool outside (and the Jacuzzi inside) were top.

Things get busy sometimes at the weekend, and I saw the staff struggling (and a number of customers literally raiding the buffet) to please everyone. It was not a big problem, but it is not what you expect when you upgrade for services.

The hotel is situated just next to Shenzhen Railway station and metro station. Very convenient to travel around. Although the rooms look abit dated but it is very clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet has a good mix of both local and international spread. The staffs are very courteous and helpful especially Mr. Bill, Mr. Rock and Alan. They

EXCEPTIONAL BREAKFAST. Great Location. WiFi that provides access to google and meta services(!!!), THIS IS RARE FIND! TAXI is ALWAYS nearby. Music and Smells in the main hall were top-notch. Again - Food & TEAs were outstanding.

Shower hose - LEAKING, OLD, adjustment was tight. Water was not going out from bath-tube. It was stuffed. It's "no-go" for 5STAR hotel. Finding HAIR DRYER was another challenge. In general - doors/ furniture all wooden elements, carpets in room and halls were old and scratched, leaving some disappointment. Also, they charge for PRINTING at lobby.

The concierge and the door staff are very attentive and friendly. When we walked into the lobby, we are greeted with the fragrant lingering in the lobby that was very refreshing and welcoming. The concierge staff took our luggages and show us where to check-in. Winter was the staff checking us in and he was very helpful and making us feel like VIP. The check in process in smooth and easy. Our luggages were arrived up to our room the next instant when we are in our room. We stayed at Shangri-La for 3 nights. These 3 nights are amazing. The house keepers are very attentive and the hygiene is kept to a high standard as usual and we felt at home. On the day of check out, the Guest Service Manager, Rock Liu is so helpful as he make sure that we get can a taxi to drive us up to the Luo Wu-Hong Kong custom immigration even it was a very short distance from the hotel. He make sure that we are well taken care of as some taxi drivers may not be happy to do that for a very short distance and told the taxi driver that my wife had a sore back and will be hard to handle her luggage up to the custom check on. Well done to Rock and all the staff in Shangri-La!! We will be back again.

The only thing is the location. It has nothing to do with the hotel itself. However we did discover another metro line station not far from the hotel. However the closest is Shenzhen metro station line 1 exit c. However, there is no escalator hence having luggages is really hard to walk up the stairs.

I recently stayed at this hotel and my experience was nothing short of excellent. The facilities were great and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel had a pleasant aroma, which added to the overall positive experience. The location of the hotel was perfect as it was close to both the metro station and train station, which made it easy for me to get around the city. The internet was fast, and I had no trouble accessing any social media sites or other websites. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. They were knowledgeable about the local area and gave great recommendations for places to visit and eat. Although I didn't have the chance to try the breakfast, I heard from other guests that it was delicious and had a wide variety of options. Overall, I found this hotel to be of great value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in the area.

Hotel is old and looks a bit dated now but very clean,I stayed there 23 years ago and everything is exactly the same. Breakfast was very good and so much to choose from. Pool was very clean and good changing facilities. Hotel is very quiet and well below capacity right now . Room rates are good right now as its still very quiet in Shenzhen right now.

Looking a bit old and some of the rooms have been smoked in even though they say it's non smoking. Had to change a room because it smelt of smoke! They were good and came straight away to change room.

Hotel is beautiful and rooms are nice and clean. Front desk clerk Kyle was very helpful and curious when we checked in. He explained all the details and locations of the hotel amenities made our trip very pleasant and easy to explore what the hotel offers. Definitely is our top choice of hotel when we visit again :D

Everything was good no complaints

Although this is an older Shangri-La, they have maintained what makes Shangri-la one of the best hotels in the world. The service was excellent and the staff so helpful, accommodating and friendly. The location was so convenient coming from Lowu and even getting around SZ. My children loved the buffet and swim/play area the most!

Brilliant Facilities catering for any age group, great location next to transport hubs of all kinds, smiling staff with genuine welcome & doing the best gesture, particularly Bill Chen… yet all those at such a cost, to me, it’s very good value for money (could be: “not peak season price” haha)

Good location, 5 min walk from Lo wu border. Facilities look a bit old but overall well maintained.

Bad smell from drain, and the shower room drainage pipe is clogged. Staff cannot speak English, need some extra time to communicate even just to order a cup of coffee, but I understand they did their best for me, thanks.
