The location is ok, it's a residential area in the Shenzhen OCT neighbourhood. The place is very clean, the staff helpful, and it caters to budget oriented international guests, as you can expect from an hostel. You can walk around the neighbourhood and observe the life of people there, there is a good supermarket right next to the hostel where you can buy stuff, even some low cost souvenirs to bring back home. If you want to enjoy some night life, the hostel has a bar that gets pretty busy on weekends. If you just want something more peaceful, there is a nearby park where you can relax an walk.

It's a bit hard to find the place, and a bit of a walk to get to the nearest metro station (there are 3 at about the same distance (Qiaocheng North on line 2, and OCT and Qiaocheng East on line 1). I mostly used Qiaocheng North, it's the easiest to navigate on foot from the hostel. After a while I optimized my route and realised it's not that far after all , just turn right after the OCT Hospital and... Well you'll figure it out too :) Another negative point is that I stayed on the top floor (5th) and there is no lift. Free exercise I guess.

Despite the significant drawback of not having an elevator in the 5-story building, LOFT Youth Hostel Shenzhen provided the most peaceful and nature-friendly environment among the hostels I have stayed in personally. The front desk volunteers (if I’m not mistaken?) were always ready to assist foreign backpackers and were consistently friendly. Additionally, the hostel used a shared WeChat messenger ID to handle any issues or questions from guests promptly and effectively, whether they were in the hostel or not. Thanks to this, I was able to get accurate information about BAOAN International Airport Terminal and bookstores in Shenzhen. It was a bit disappointing that as a foreign tourist I couldn’t order food delivery, but it was very convenient to bring food and drinks and enjoy them freely in the lobby on the first floor. The dog and cat in the lobby who greeted visitors quietly also served as great mascots for the hostel. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay and plan to book again if I have the chance in the future.

However, the lobby only had air conditioning at certain times, which made the whole first floor quite hot at times, and there were occasional mosquitoes that bit and left marks on my legs, which was somewhat unpleasant. I think using mosquito repellents or fans could effectively address the heat and mosquito issues.

The location is excellent.

No small common kitchen to make simple meal

Location was great as it was about 10 minutes walk to either Qiaocheng North or Qiaocheng East metro stations where you can take line 2 or line 1 and these lines get you to almost all the major attractions in Shenzhen (e.g. Sea World, Dameisha Beach, Window of the World, Splendid China Folk Village). Just opposite the hostel is the OCT East Market building which has a supermarket and a few restaurants. There are also other good restaurants and cafes nearby (< 5 minutes walk).

There was no handwash in the toilet.

Very friendly staff, helped in every way possible to help us find our way around the area. Easy to find and walk from Metro. Good instructions emailed in advance (before I lost data) and everyone could direct us to this place even without my maps / phone working at all (and without speaking a word of Chinese). Clean rooms. Shower gel, mosquito repellent plug in, a few hangers, black out curtains, good A/C, fly screens, sheets and towels all provided. Stunning bar/restaurant next door and super eateries all around the area. Lots of choice for Asian and western palates. Generally a lovely atmosphere and vibe. Thankyou. You guys are doing a fantastic job. We will come again!

The bed was a little squeaky. For some the bed may be a little hard but it was softer than most Chinese beds I’ve experienced. I was perfectly happy.

Excellent location with good, clean facilities. Staff were friendly and helpful, but most especially, they were quick, and I didn't feel like I was waiting around at the front desk. The terrace outside was a lovely place to sit in the evening, and I'm sure would be even better were it not the height of summer and therefore absolutely boiling.

Rooms lacked storage, however, extra lockers were provided in the hallway, and belongings could be stored in the baggage room behind the front desk if needs be.

Really nice feel to the place. Many convenient shops around and in a good location for the city. Staff spoke English well enough to help. Has a nice shared space downstairs as well.

Each floor holds 12 people, sharing a single toilet and a single shower. Could probably do with a couple more, and the rooms felt a bit bare. Perhaps a lockable cupboard, or hooks on both sides of the room for both people to hang things up.

Location is great! Room is clean and beautiful. The hostel itself has a very much Instagram look, Marshall's speaker on the first floor etc. Enjoyed it a lot. Will definitely choose it next time I am here.

The only thing that might be a lack of coffee/tea in the room (thhere is teapot even though). Also it was hard to find way from subway to the hostel. On Google maps it showed us the wrong path so I would recommend to add more details about it in description.

For reference, I am a Texan who enjoys traveling. I am also younger than most of the people one might find backpacking around the world. I was impressed by the quality of the hostel. The lobby is clean and spacious, and it has a reading room and water dispenser. The staff were very helpful, not only in checking me in and accommodating me, but also in rectifying an error that had been made with the booking. The rooms are very nice, and they reminded me of a place in London I like to stay. These were better, though. Shenzhen is a city where things are happening--if you're in the area, you should visit.

Excellent hostel with clean beds and bathrooms. The bed ranks as one of the most comfortable ones that I've seen in a hostel. In terms of location, it is about 10 minute's walk from the subway station and is conveniently located close to various convenience stores, restaurants and cafes. The staff members are also very attentive, as they messaged me after my booking to confirm my check-in time and other details. Highly recommended to anyone who is visiting Shenzhen.

The hostel could organise some activities to encourage interaction between guests. For example, some of the other hostels that I visited had movie nights and card games. As well, it would be nice if the heat mode of the air-conditioner in my dormitory had worked, as it got quite cold in the evening. Apart from that, this hostel is excellent in every other area!
