Nice hotel in a convenient location with nice swimming pool and billiard room. English speaking staff. Good buffet selection for breakfast.

Even though the room was non smoking, the whole floor had a strong cigarette smell. There is a kids playroom but this is really suitable for toddlers and there is nothing for older kids (my sons are 9 and 11 and they thought it was too babyish and the gym room can't be used for below 16 yo). The hotel restaurants are quite pricey for Xiamen standard - however there are good options in the street nearby.

The beds are comfortable, the AC is cold, the bathrooms are spacious and there's a desk for working while on the road. We used the gym and the yoga room most mornings and the staff there remembered our room number and names each time. The best feature of the hotel is the big breakfast on the 2nd floor, or if you upgrade to Club Level you get more private breakfast experience on the 8th floor. We splurged for the Club level because it also includes afternoon tea and happy hour. The location is directly across from a walking path around the lake, and the mountain trails are only a 5 minute walk north. Great Location!

The food is challenging for a vegetarian. Most dishes that are vegetable based also include pork, which is frustrating. However we alerted the staff and they made a solid effort to include at least 1 vegetarian option each day.

Nice lake view overlooking the hotel's swimming pool. Queen room is spacious, Twin room a little smaller than expected. Quiet location. Nice variety for breakfast, although some items are fresher than others.

Some information to join local tours can help. We had to search for a travel agent on arrival when we are not familiar with the city. Ended up finding a 'front desk' in another hotel which was unattended, but with the information on the flyer, was able to connect with wechat and communicated (in chinese) with the agent.

Ended up staying at business/exec suite, but worked out great. Currency exchange on spot, concierge helped called the taxi to the front door. Afternoon tea and cocktail snacks were quite excellent, the bakery is extraordinary and I was told by my local friends the bakery is top notch in town. Koi in the pond are huge, and there are many of those rare color koi, quite enjoyable

The initial booking was canceled when arrived first day in the morning due to peak traveling season and typical check-in policy is 3 pm-12am, the message left might not have been checked. If booking could allow entering message in Chinese, could help. But reported to deputy director of sales, he promised this won’t happen again. Provided business card and asked to email him directly. The room was booked while flying west coast, the leg flying China did not get Wi-Fi working.

The surrounding environment and the ambience of the lobby area. The software is amazing from the service of the housekeeper, Ms Mary Lee, and the Director Ms Karen You who walks the talk and ensure every guests is well taken care of. Ms You went the extra mile to check on me when I had a fall in my bedroom. Though there are various interns who are new to their job, with her exemplary customer service, many exceeded the expectations - thanks to Ms Dorra and Ms Susan.

The gym and the smell of the carpet. The staff did an excellent job in removing the smell when I raised my concern on the musky odour.Thanks to all, for the awesome job.

We tot great welcome and upgrade. Great location, also very close to subway and plenty Nice restaurants in same street. Personele was very friemelt, very helpfull with answering questions. Breakfest was oké, a little bot to much “Chinese” style oriëntatie, but you are in China, so ….

Perhaps breakfest, somewhat more “Western” style would be appreciated by toerist from outside Chine. I must thing very hard to find other complaints as stay in hotel was fulltime to oud satisfaction

(1) the staff was phenomenal & superstars! From front desk to bellman to concierge, everyone was super friendly, readily available to help and very accommodating (2) the room was super clean and comfortable - thank you housekeeping team! (3) we had a few hiccups with our initial room but we were quickly assisted in switching rooms and the whole process was seamless and smooth. Thank you for the accommodations! We truly appreciate it very much! (4) the dining room for breakfast was small and quiet. The options were a bit limited but nonetheless, it was enough and very comfortable and relaxing (5) the lobby was super neat, cozy and open. Very relaxing and welcoming when waiting in lobby (6) the location was perfect (about 10 mins walk from nearest metro station), plenty of mobile bikes around and near the lake to walk around both during day and night time

N/A - we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying here again if we ever visit Xiamen in the future

Their front desk service staff were very professional and helpful. They go extra mile to ensure we were comfortable during our stay. A special thanks to Manager Mr Siaw. He went the extra mile in arranging our day trip to tulou. The breakfast buffet spread were generous. The ambience and setting of the restaurant were very conducive.

Pool side room was perfect, loved it. Some of the staff were excellent and helped us ordering taxis and exchanging currency. The downstairs lounge was lovely and light and airy .

Staff were mixed some very good some not so good. It wasn't explained to us that we had to use the Executive lounge for afternoon tea, we were just told it was complementary with the upgrade and were charged £50 for 2 coffees and 2 cakes which seemed excessive! My colleagues room was dirty when she arrived as the person staying on the room before her had had a ate check out.

One of the highlights for me at the Hotel was the lounge on the 8th floor it was excellent, the food the beverage and the actual lounge itself was fantastic.The staff made you so welcome, I would like to mention Lisa and Rose who were both excellent with myself and my friends in the lounge, for sure I will visit Marco Polo Xaimen again. Everything was excellent from check in to departure the rooms were just like home. Also the guys working in the Lobby bar excellent service. Again a special mention for Lisa and Rose in the Lounge two employees with good communication and hospitality skills.

I liked everything. No Faults.............
