Unmatched views of unspoiled coastline including the Ostional beach where we saw turtles hatching. Restaurant setting was very soothing with excellent red snapper. Staff was very attentive and fast (albeit in very low season). The cocktails at sunset were unmatched. You could spend long hours in the infinity pools relaxing with the views. Enjoyed the choice of pool temperatures as well as the nice outdoor shower in our bedroom.

Having a buffet for breakfast could have been a good choice. The road up to the hotel is certainly quite an adventure especially after a heavy downpour but they offer excellent shuttle service. As they post on the parking lot "bad roads bring good people".

Everything! The front desk staff, especially Ernesto, was very patient and welcoming. The views from the room, the pools, the restaurant were all incredible. Such a luxurious and relaxed vibe. The room was huge. The breakfast was delicious and satisfying. We did not want to ever leave! We also really enjoyed the tours with Santos, especially the E-boat.

We like separate beds and it would have been nice to have 2 beds in the main bedroom rather than a king-sized bed.

Waiters in restaurant need to be more attentive to customers, more so during the dinner service. Complimentary fresh bread once you place your order was not given timely. Both nights we ate there we had to ask for it more than 2 times. We were rarely checked on during our dinner service to see if we needed more water/another drink. When we were ready to leave, we would just sit waiting for someone to finally look at us (some were on their phones) and have to raise our hands to get them to come to the table to ask for ticket. Normally I would not say anything but this happened on both nights and I noticed other tables having similar experiences. However, the meal and the view was great!!

This place is amazing. Everything is perfect: The location with the view, the friendly staff, the rooms, the food, the pools, the nature, it’s clean, just wonderful. We‘ve seen a lot around the world but Lagarta Lodge is an unbeatable and beautiful hotel. A short drive to the beaches including Guiones (the hotel offers a shuttle service if you do not have a car).

We were lucky enought to stay in a beautiful room with Ocean View and what a view! The Ocean, the pelicans flying over the river, the monkeys playing in the trees. It was amazing. The pools are incredible, and the sunsets unforgettable. The restaurant is really good and the staff very friendly. Great place to unwind!

The hotel is not directly on the beach but they have shuttles to get there and it's an easy walk.

Stunning location overlooking the Pacific ocean and the mountains. Beautifully kept grounds, spacious rooms with balcony, and a hammock. Mosquito screens and air con if needed. Lush food, friendly staff and comfy beds...what's not to like? Pura Vida vibes from start to finish.

Staying at this hotel was an absolute delight! The pools on different levels with breathtaking views were truly a dream come true. We even had the pleasure of spotting monkeys, raccoons, and a iguana right within the hotel grounds. The experience was nothing short of magical.

Massive rooms with a huge balcony overlooking the most gorgeous view! The pool(s) are perfect, with a sloped entrance that was perfect for our young son. Amazing wildlife, with the a reserve on your doorstep. Big and tasty breakfast and delicious pool-side drinks. Great.

The views are fabulous... the room is spacious and the balcony works as a separate room if you like. Food was good, very knowledgeable and professional staff with good English. Beautiful swimming pools with great view and one shallow for kids.

That there are no ensuite rooms as our toddler goes to bed early we couldn't simply close the door and go to the other room. The internet connection strength not great at all. No map of the place as there is spa, yoga room, place to work out, other swimming pool - no info of where they are.

A beautiful boutique hotel perched on the hillside, overlooking an estuary and Playa Nosara! We fell in love the minute we arrived, with the stunning views and lush surroundings. The infinity pool is particularly beautiful, as well as the restaurant, which both have gorgeous views. The sunsets are breathtaking from this vantage point. We stayed 3 nights in a large room with a large balcony that also offered beautiful views of both the jungle and the beach. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was fabulous - fresh fruit, coffee, and one of many entrees to choose from. We also had dinner each night at the hotel because it was more convenient than driving into town, and these were excellent too. Also the staff were very friendly throughout our entire stay. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon!
