Anabelle and Mark, owners/founders built this place, settled on the top of a ‘mountain’ with superb views, to host students and professors studying the Pacuare nature reserve. Later on they decided to open up for tourists. It’s a very relaxed place with great hosts. We quickly felt at home and enjoyed the peaceful place. The longer you stay, the higher the appreciation. The combination of the environment, Mark y Anabelle (thanks for the great conversations) , the fantastic food in the evening, organizing a great rafting trip, visiting waterfalls & Turyalba, refreshing swimming pool and nature fulfilled all our needs and beyond! Therefore we gave it a 10.

The Bella Vista Ranch was our first stop on our round trip tour through Costa Rica. We were warmly welcomed by Mark and Anabelle and were accommodated in a small pretty bungalow with a view of nature and the smoking volcano. Everything was very clean and without uninvited visitors. : ) On request, Mark organized a great rafting tour with Ticos River Adventure on the Pacuare River for us. Highly recommended if you like pure nature and adventure. The food was also very tasty and typical of the country. A place to feel good. Pura Vida! Thanks to Mark and Anabelle.

We really enjoyed our stay with Mark and Annabelle who were so friendly and welcoming. The view from the ranch is absolutely sensational, and there are plenty of feathered visitors to watch while you enjoy your delicious breakfasts and homecooked dinners. Our cabin was comfy and we slept well.

We struggled to find vegetarian options for dinner in the local town of Turrialba, however Mark and Annabelle cooked us some fantastic meals so you needn't worry about eating well!

We had the best stay in Costa Rica staying with Mark & Annabelle. They were the best hosts, arranging for us to go on a rafting tour and on a chocolate tour at a nearby chocolate farm. The breakfast was delicious (best bread we've had in Costa Rica) and they also offer other meals for a small price, which was delicious. The service is sublime, including the possibility to get laundry done. The dogs are friendly, the views are fantastic and the birds are plentiful. Bella Vista Ranch is an amazing place to spend time while in Costa Rica.

The hosts were wonderful! It felt like staying at your cool Uncle & Aunt's :D They completely organized our rafting trip (Rio Pacuare), cooked dinner, prepared breakfast and were overall super welcoming and helpful. I can definitely recommend them and the beautiful place they call home. PS: Mark, you were right about the monkeys ;)

The view of the volcano was wonderful, the meals were authentic, but most importantly, the staff (aka owners) were the most hospitable people a guest could hope for. They assisted in arranging transportation and our recreational activities, neither of which disappointed. The location is very secluded, intimate, and relaxed. Exactly what we were hoping for!

There is little to complain about, but we are easy people. I could see people being upset about no in-room wi-fi, but that is part of the appeal. You can truly disconnect. Note: There is wi-fi available at the lodge.

Mark and Anabelle are amazing hosts, they made us feel like family, and we did enjoy not only the beautiful place they have, but their company as well. The rancho is a hidden gem, a piece of heaven on earth, and they both are authentic people who love what they do. Thanks very much for an unforgettable experience! Big hug to both!

Two of the friendliest people we’ve met during our travels - very welcoming and always smiling. The property has the most wonderful view from the cabins and the communal breakfast area. We saw a ton of birds and fireflies. They also cooked us a lovely evening meal. The cabin was spotlessly clean.

Mark and Annabelle are the excellent Host. They had a good knowledge of the area and also the country. being vegetarian and my husband being allergic to Garlic, they went out of their way to look after us. many thanks.

Mark and Anabelle are great hosts and helped me organize awesome activities and arranged transfer for me as I was travelling without a car :) they cooked good food and on request it was totally possible to also make it vegan which is great! The view of the ranch is stunning!!!

The location is quite remote (which is amazing!) but which also makes it difficult to get to some locations if you don't come with an own car.
