The location was great with ocean view and beautiful apartment with everything you might need. The security guard was very nice and helpful letting us into the apt after hours and giving us directions, suggestions etc. Place was located within walking distance of a beautiful park with a great cove for swimming without waves and lovely fish to view. The location made driving between North and South shore easy. It was close to shoppinng "Coconut Marketplace" as well as grocery store and less expensive places to eat.

The hotwater value in the shower wouldn't turn so you could only have lukewarm water. The couch had not been vacummed so you got sand on your legs when you sat down. As you had to clean your dishes and take out the trash, thought the $265 cleaning deposit was excessive. when I notified the facilities for a late check in they diidn't put keys in lockbox. Luckily I saw the security guard as I didn't have cell service in the parking lot and couldn't call the number they gave to call.

Excellent location. We can walk to a safe swimming beach (Lydgate) and if we walked south, behind the gold course, we had a long stretch of beach to walk also. The sunrise every morning was beautiful! It is also conveniently located to the airport and many activities and shopping. The grounds were impeccably and beautifully kept too.

The sound transmitted very easily from the floor above us (we were on the second floor). Footsteps, furniture moving, sliding door to the patio opening and closing were all audible. Sometimes it seemed incessant so if you are a light sleeper, make sure you get a unit on the top floor. Also the mattress was.worn out. I weigh 140 lb and I woke up with the top half of my body in a depression every morning (you can still see the crater after I got out of bed).

My family's not into the big, plush resorts, so this property suited us well. The grounds and pool are beautifully maintained. Our third floor ocean front unit gave us a great view. The kitchen was well equipped with the essentials, and there were a few "bonus" extras such as beach chairs and snorkel equipment. There's a great walking/biking path right out front paralleling the beach, and it's just a short walk to Lydgate Beach Park.

Just remember, the property is nearly 50 years old and each condo owner maintains and appoints their unit differently. (I would hope, but don't know, that there are at least some minimum standards each unit has to meet.) Anyway, our family had two different units, one of which was pretty contemporary while the other could have used a little fresh paint and new window coverings. There are some units on the property that don't really have ocean views, so make sure you ask. Know you'll hear the roosters before the sun comes up.

Location was great! Ocean view. The pool is open til 10pm and is lit up at night. They also turn on the tiki flames around the pool at night...very pretty at night. There is a 6-minute walk along the beach path to Lydgate State Beach where you can find a swimming area with a Lifeguard. A couple feet behind that area is a large hotel and you will find a Tiki Bar outside which is pretty good. I went for the beauty of it all.

They were painting outside where I was located. Toward the end they were trimming the palm trees, but they left the large trucks/equipment behind the pool which was an eyesore because if was a beautiful full moon that night.

There is a beautiful lookout to the garden and pool from the living and dining area and the terrace. The ocean is super-close. The apartment is nice and clean, very well equipped - there are also towels for the beach and some snorkeling equipment, toys for kids and even lots of DVD-s for those who ever can be bored of all the surrounding beauty. The entire facility is very well maintained and gorgeous - full of flowers and trees, lovely chickens and cats wondering everywhere.

For a usual family it would have been almost perfect, but for us (a couple and 2 separate people) it was a bit inconvenient that everyone had to go to the bathroom through the bedroom; and that we couldn’t get separate bedsheets for the separate people who shared the pull-out sofa in the living room. Other than that it was pretty good.

The condo was very nice. Comfortable. The view across the pool, the beautiful grounds and then of course the ocean was absolutely astounding. I don’t think we shut the glass door to the lanai once. The sound of the ocean was the stuff of dreams.

One minor, very very minor complaint was that the glass dining room table had a pretty thick layer of dust on it. Very evident when the sun rose and lit up the dining room and living room. No Windex in unit. Again, minor. But for the price - you do notice and expect the small things to be noticed before arrival as well.

It was very beautiful, nice location, ocean views and had everything we needed. I love how there were chairs, a cooler bag, noodles and boogie boards we definitely needed those. It was very quiet minus those darn roosters.

The roosters all over the place, but I’m sure that’s beyond your control as they seem to own the island. The roosters themselves are not bad. It’s just when they wake you up at 4 to 5 in the morning when you’re on vacation is not ideal.

Location and property landscaping were great. Room 111 is on the lower floor and is tucked away from a full ocean view (though it can be seen) but the beach is a short walk across the property. There was no road noise. Ceiling fans allowed comfort without A/C. There is a trail along the beach which was nice for short walks. Lydgate Beach is a 10 minute walk north and it has reasonable snorkeling with lots of fish in two pools that are protected from the surf. It would be great for families with children. The pool on property was very clean and beautiful. Staff was helpful and competent.

Roosters were noisy. If this bothers you our room would not be satisfactory. They weren't a problem for us. The heater was out in the swimming pool during our stay (ending 1/21/22) but the pool was warm enough for day swimming. It was easy to hear people moving around in the unit above us but it was infrequent enough to not be a problem in our case.

SUCH a great value for Kauai. We usually stay at another property on the West side, but the prices there had gone up so much, we decided to try something new and we were thrilled with what we found at Castle Kaha Lani! Our room was lovely, clean, comfortable and spacious with a stunning ocean view. We spent mornings on the balcony with a cup of coffee and late afternoons with a glass of wine. The kitchen was SO well stocked - everything we could possibly have needed. BONUS was lots of beach equipment in our room - boogie board, flippers, chairs, mats, umbrella. I don't know if every room is equipped with all of that, but it was SO appreciated for our many beach days! The property is lovely as well with lots of tropical plants, plumeria, hibiscus and wildlife (as well as the omnipresent roosters/chickens - bring your earplugs!). The property is right on the beach and we took many walks down to Lydgate to snorkel, swim and hang out. We also enjoyed staying on the East side for this trip. Since it's closer to the center of the main island road, it's easier to get to other parts of the island. And Kapaa and Lihue are both close by with plenty of food and drink options. We were SO happy with our stay and will definitely stay again.

There is not a ton of privacy on the"inside" side of the condos, so you just have to be careful to keep your shades drawn when changing! :) Also, mgmt highly recommended we use the safe in the room, but ours was so old, we almost couldn't get it opened again! Needless to say, we didn't try using it again after that and just took our chances. But those are SUCH little things and did not take away from our enjoyment of Castle Kaha Lani and all it had to offer.

Very spacious, lots of room, has everything you need for a couple of days stay.

The ocean view was not really an ocean view as I would have expected, I hardly saw the ocean from my ground-floor flat. There was no cleaning during the entire stay (5 days), the floor felt really sandy when I checked in, so I had to put on some shoes to walk around even though you were supposed to not wear any inside. The dishwasher did not work, I let the lady know when checking out, she did not really seem interested.
