Loved the property! The grounds were impeccable and the room was beautifully decorated. It was just as pictured. The spa tub was perfect for a soak, but there was also a shower in the bathroom if you're not a tub person. Our hostess was so helpful in trying to help us find a place to have dinner and had great suggestions for visiting various landmarks in the area. Breakfast was superb!

We stayed in the only room in the chateau. The mattress was pretty uncomfortable and the room smelled a little musty, but probably to be expected in a place that's been around since the 13th century.

We stayed in the room in the castle, which was as atmospheric as we expected. The bathroom was surprisingly well appointed (great walk in shower) and the bed was very comfortable, but you never forgot you were in a very, very old building and room. Breakfast was really good too.

The only problem was the mosquitoes. We waged battle in the evening and had a quiet night but if you are at all allergic, make sure you have insect repellent at hand.

Beautiful … a real gem to stay at. Very quiet. The room was enormous and decorated and furnished in a style to match this old chateau. The grounds were nice with an amazing tree lined avenue leading to the front of the house. The owners were really nice. It does not have a restaurant but a 10 minute walk takes you to le table Henry, which was excellent with an interesting menu and nice wines. Like all French restaurants it offers fixed priced choices for a meal, reasonably priced. You need to book prior to your visit to guarantee a table.

Château de Flottemanville is a castle style mansion that dates back to the 13th century. We LOVED the medieval character of the chateau and of our room. We stayed in The Room in the Château, which is the only guest room that is actually located in the main building. The room as well as the bathroom are very large. We felt like nobility for the night! The chateau is located on a very large property in a rural area with no neighbors in site or hearing distance. Quiet, relaxing, peaceful, tranquil. A very nice breakfast was included and served by the host in the main building. The host/owner was very friendly. She is fluent in English, was very informative and took her time to answer all our burning questions about this wonderful chateau. Would definitely stay here again if we would ever be in the area again. Although located in a rural area, there is lots to explore in nearby: 16 minutes to Sainte-Mère-Église, 25 minutes to Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, 28 minutes to Barfleur, 28 minutes to Utah Beach. For dinner, I highly recommend restaurant Auberge du Pont Cochon (La Route Des Pâtes), just a 10 minute walk from the chateau. Steaks are grilled to perfection on the grill in a huge wood burning fire place that is located in the seating area of the restaurant.

I liked the idea of staying in a chateau. The room and bedroom were a good size. All seemed clean.

Not a chateau but maybe the chateau’s barn converted into some guest rooms. Certainly an outbuilding that was converted. Not much for “extras.” One tiny shampoo and soap for 2 people. Instant coffee, tea, and sugar but no creamer. TV but not many channels, and none in English. Two hard kitchen table type chairs and a chaise lounge, but nothing in between. Tiny shower that leaked. Good. Sorry if this sounds like I’m being negative. Overall good.

It was a castle day no more and we stayed in the castle room The history and age of the place blew me away I couldn’t believe we were staying in something like this It was comfortable and a very large space for two Local restaurants are open at 7pm but it is a drive into town No where local to walk to Breakfast was lovely with the most amazing host We learnt a lot from them about the castle and history Very grateful for the experience

We had the spectacular very large bedroom in the chateau building, which was great fun. (There's only the one room in the chateau, the others in ajoining buildings). The highly rated restaurant nearby was closed for refurb. following takeover, so we had booked in Valognes (the nearby town) with help from the chateau owner from our email enquiries, who then drove ahead of us to enable us to find it - very good of her, and much appreciated. A good breakfast was served. The chateau is very photogenic! - and a short drive from Cherbourg for ferry arrivals.

Nothing - very helpful owners, Madame speaks good English. We suggest you check out dining in advance, if the local restaurant is not yet reopen, Valognes has many good places.

Absolutely fantastic reception and a 12th century chateau, Francois was a pure lady and kind with her time to make our stay memorable

Nothing / everything about this Chateau was more than acceptable, we paid more than twice this price for a similar chateau without breakfast, will definitely return soon

From the moment you pull in off the road to enter this property it's stunning. If you're looking for a fairytale night stay here. Lovely owner greeted us shoulders to the room told us a bit about the property. Gorgeous breakfast the next morning in an idyllic period room. I would highly recommend this property.

Friendly staff. The hostess was amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. She helped us upon arrival finding a restaurant and even called herself to make a reservation. Breakfast was fresh and full of local products.

Everything was perfectly charming and the atmosphere was amazing.
