We loved the house and it’s beautiful garden, we had one night at La buffonnerie which was relaxing and peaceful. Breakfast was typically French with fresh bred and homemade marmelade, the room is charming. The owner is very available for help and her staff really nice (the cleaning lady in the morning was really kind to us). The house is really old and you can feel it’s story through its wall while walking around it, we loved that feeling.
The only one thing is the bathroom on the stairs for our room, but really manageable and not so much of a problem.

A short stay turned into a really lovely story. We had a beautiful room in a wonderful house full of history. A very welcoming, generous host that took perfect care of us. Absolute silence during the night in the middle of the French countryside, far away from everything that can stress us out. A nice little breakfast and a stroll through the park - we left more relaxed than after a week at a beach hotel. Merci!
There was absolutely nothing that we didn't like.

Everything was fabulous - it's basically staying in a charming, grand French family house, not modern or over the top (but that doesn't matter and is the whole point of it), vast room, vast bathroom, fab views, lovely old fashioned dining room and comfy drawing room, real French home cooking, gardens where fruit and veg growing that appeared on the table for breakfast, rural area, lovely walks, towns, wine shops and really kind, exceptionally hard working host. Very dog friendly. Good wifi.
Everything was super - if I had to criticise the bathroom could have been a little cleaner - the previous guest's shampoo bottle was still in the shower with lid off, which made me wonder if it had been cleaned! But everything else was great, lovely linen bed sheets; it must have been an anomaly or one off oversight.

Gorgeous gorgeous house and a lovely host who was welcoming and incredible from start to end. we only stayed one night and we wished we had stayed for more. The house is grand and beautifully decorated with exquisite furniture, paintings and books. The gardens are so so lovely and we were sad that we didn’t get to spend much time roaming in them or sitting down with a book on the hammock. The beds were super comfortable with luxurious linens. We stayed in the family suite - which was literally the top floor with a landing and a private bathroom. The bathroom was also so pretty with Morroccan inspired mosaics and old style French fittings. The whole place was roomy and the temperature was perfect at night even without air conditioning. The breakfast was scrumptious- croissants and baguette with butter and jams and marmalades made from the fruits from the garden… and we got to taste fruits from the garden as well - which were delicious! This place is a real gem and Madame went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of and we left happy and delighted but sad to say goodbye. One would definitely need a car to get to here but this place is a gem and we were all in agreement that we would definitely return here and for longer.

A most interesting and intriguingly-restored period property in a small medieval rural village. The owner's artistic talents are reflected in everything from the decor to the design of the garden, especially the outdoor sculptures and kitchen garden which is designed in the form of a working sundial. Breathtaking! Totally pet-friendly and, for us, the perfect place to break a long drive down to the Alps
While we loved the remoteless of the location, some might find it a bit too far off the beaten track. We would have preferred an en-suite WC.

A nice place to stay for a couple of days away from city noise. The charme of the property is that it is really in a very remote place and we could enjoyed the country life to its most.
The distance to a mansion from a highway was way longer than we expected. The shower drainage was not letting water go fast, therefore we were scared to have had water leaked over.

La Buffonnerie is a real gem. We only stayed one night but yearn to go back. The house is a delight, the rooms elegant and very comfortable and it’s all enveloped in the most stunning gardens. We were fortunate to be able to dine in the beautiful garden with a meal prepared by Clothilde who went out of her way to make our short stay so special. A very welcoming and beautiful Chambre d’hôte everything was perfect. Thank you Clothilde.

Amazing house, with a lovely host, feeling really at home and really welcome. It was a calm neighbourhood with not much to do which was what we wanted. Easy parking, beautiful garden to walk around in and sit in. Sweet room with eye for detail, very clean. Breakfast around a big table with the other guests, with a lot of fruit and homemade marmelade (you can ask for some eggs as well!) It really is a special experience, authentic and totally great value for the money.
Maybe if you are not so in to sweet things for breakfast, there was not so much choice. But I am sure you could ask the host in advance. And the toilet not in the room but hallway, eventhough it was still assigned to our room, the other guest got confused and came in while one of us was using it. But beside that it did not bother us really.

Beautiful quiet place with very nice people. Amazing bed and sleep. Spacious room and bathroom, nice shower massage. The garden is large and beautiful, my 2 years old son loved to walk and play there. Top top attitude towards the kids, such a care !

This is a wonderful home. Lots of character making it a very special place to stay. Her home made teas were a wonderful added touch.
Not really a dislike but just a warning. This is a tiny village, beautiful and full of character but there was no sign of a restaurant. I think you can organise something with Clothilde but she will need warning!
