We stayed her as we were looking for a hotel near to the ferry terminal and were very pleased we chose La Mare O Poissons. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful and genuinely made us feel welcome, the room was clean and in spite of it being one the coldest days (and night) of the year it was very comfortable. The breakfast was a buffet with a good choice of hot and cold food and drinks. The Padam Padam restaurant adjoining the hotel is recommended, both for the food on offer and it's value for money. We will certainly stay here again.

We asked for a ground floor room which was provided. The bed was comfortable and the shower good. The small bar and snack area was good. The breakfast was first class with a good assortment of food on offer. I thought the coffee from the machine there was some of the best I had had whilst in France The adjoining restaurant had a good menu and the food was very good and well priced. The hotel is well placed for a short drive to the Ferry terminal, but a bit to far to walk into the town centre

For a hotel that caters for a lot of travellers from the UK the in room tea and coffee facilities were not what you would expect in the UK. Paper cups are ok but not when they leak when filled with boiling water. We asked at reception and we're given china ones and additional milk in a jug. I found the floor of the shower tray to be slippery and flexed when you stood on it. I weigh about 90kg.

Excellent location for the ferry, with a good restaurant attached. The restaurant offers many typical French/Normandy dishes and my husband said he had the best onion soup ever. Good staff in the hotel (thank you for your assistance and conversation, Severine) and the room was extremely clean. Definitely a hotel to revisit when back in the area.

I would have liked to have had some coffee available in the room. There were just two tea bags and some coffee creamer. A Nespresso machine and a few pods would have been a great addition.

This is a greater property for Ouistreham port, particularly if arriving late. There is someone on reception all night (though obviously better to advise of late arrival). Parking is plentiful, in the hotel grounds. Rooms are spacious enough, very good bathrooms and very good beds and linen. Breakfast, by French standards, is fine. There is now an on-site restaurant which sounds good, but I haven’t had the opportunity to try this. Staff are always professional and pleasant. Tea/coffee making in bedrooms.

The location was perfect for an overnight stop on the way home from the ferry port. I’ve stayed in Best Western hotels before and found the quality could be ‘variable’ but this one was very good indeed. More expensive than a hotel even closer to the port that I’ve previously used but well worth the extra cost and I’d definitely stay there again. The staff were friendly and helpful and the range of breakfast options was more than enough for most people.

I arrived after an 11 hour drive and just wanted to relax in a comfortable room. The hotel is 2 mins from the ferry check in. I was welcomed with a very friendly greeting and a big smile. The room was well decorated, modern clean with a very comfortable bed and great shower. I asked for a meal in my room which appeared in 10 minutes and was surprising good. Boeuf Bourginon and a chocolate mouse, both of which were delicious. Breakfast the following morning was a treat to behold. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cold ,meats, cheeses, pancakes and fresh croissants. plus plus. The best 15 euros ever! And a very friendly greeting at 6.30 in the morning! I will certainly stay again and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Arriving late from an afternoon ferry from the UK, it was good to find a very quiet place. Staff were helpful without being intrusive. Great location for getting on to my onward journey. Decent sized rooms, tea and coffee making facilities welcome and not always common in France. Super clean.

It might have been nice to have had a little more in the late night snack department - but truthfully arriving somewhere in France at 10.00 at night is asking for trouble! Make sure you bring a sandwich!

The location was perfect for catching the ferry the next day. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and have all you need for a comfortable stay. The decoration is very stylish and the pool looks gorgeous.

No member of staff at the bar when we went to get a drink in the evening. No one was at reception when we left in the morning after being told it was a 24 hour reception.

Like the newly refurbished bathrooms Staff were welcoming friendly and flexible Location is perfect for getting off the evening or getting on the early morning ferry

Sadly the restaurant is closed so after a long days drive I had to venture in to downtown Ouisterham for dinner. Old restaurant was one of best in area but not a showstopper. Sadly there are now two which can be: You no longer do dogs and once a year we travel with ours but will now have to book elsewhere. You really could do with a couple of overnight chargers for electric cars essential before striking off inland.

The Staff!!- they were very accommodating- chap on reception was delightful!- so helpful. English/French spoken. Breakfast was great too!- the staff on breakfast were lovely, they kept everything topped up. Had reserved us a table and that made it all very easy! Beds were comfortable, clean fresh rooms, nice bedding. Very good clean bathroom with decent shower. Thank you!

Slight niggle was couldn’t use pool, the times of the swimming pool have been shortened. ( Totally understand, sensible rather than just keeping it heated for hours on end!) Just didn’t realise until after booking! We arrived later than first anticipated and we were just staying one night. The pool didn’t reopen until 2pm. Just one of those things! All looked lovely!
