Liked the location; proximity to metro and decent restaurants, and some shops !

A bit run-down— drapes are really in sad shape ; extremely noisy

The hotel is perfectly located, it is a short metro journey from the station when using the Eurostar, on arrival the guy behind reception was super friendly, very lovely. Rooms are clean, cleaners came in during our stay too, which was only 2 nights, rooms are a little tired but it's an old building, but perfectly adequate. Vending machine downstairs is handy for water. The hotel is very convenient for travelling around the city. The nearest metro was Chemin Vert, but we liked a little stroll, so used Bastille, which was great to jump on the metro to anywhere you need to go.

Good location, close to a few transport stops, plus eateries. Friendly staff, always welcoming. Good breakfast service of pastries, yoghurt and coffee. Room was spacious though just a double bed. Shower was okay but pressure was quite light. Would've been great to have had facilities to make tea/coffee. Great to have a lift too. Overall, great stay.

The room was an exceptional value for four people, which is hard to find in Paris at such a reasonable price. The room was as described and pictured: it had air conditioning, the beds were comfortable, the location was very near two subway stations and a bakery, and to make it even better, it is not located on an extremely busy street, which meant the room was quiet! The decor was cute, and the room was clean. It is hard to find a closer location to all the main sites! We could have walked to Notre Dam and the Louvre in 25 minutes or so. They also allowed us to check in a little early. I highly recommend Grand Hotel Amelot and would 100% stay there again!

Very overpriced! basic hotel rooms, dated, worn carpets and curtains just hanging on a few hooks. Booked quadruple room for two of us, and still very small. Would have been very unpleasant and interesting having four people stay in this room.

This was our first international trip as a family of three, so we weren't sure exactly what to expect. Grand Hotel Amelot was a beautiful introduction to Paris. The staff was warm, welcoming, and always helpful. For example, we bought a bottle of wine from a local market to enjoy in the room. We realized we hadn't purchased a corkscrew. The gentleman working the front desk couldn't find theirs, so he was kind enough to go across the street to a restaurant and have them open it instead. Each morning, we were greeted with a fond "bonjour, bon journee!" The hotel's breakfast is a fantastic way to start your day in Paris. The breads are freshly baked and very tasty. It's not an extensive selection of food, but it's easy and exactly what we needed to get our day started. The service is very personal from the staff (who speak English) and we felt very welcome during the entire stay. Are the rooms small? Yes, but why are you going to Paris to sit in your hotel room? The beds and pillows were very comfortable and the shower water was always hot. We had an interior-facing room that was quiet and only noisy if other hotel guests were noisy returning to their room. The air conditioner blows ice cold, which is very refreshing after a hot day in the city.

The only complaint we have was that the water that splashes out from the shower made the floor slippery. We were careful and used a few extra towels to keep from slipping, but it wasn't a huge problem for us. It just requires you to slow down and take things carefully.

The hotel is in a great location, the metro is 5 mins away and there are places to eat nearby, the room was clean and comfortable, we had a great nights sleep, no noise! The towels, bedding etc were excellent quality and the TV was great, I could screen share from my phone!

Certain areas of the hotel could do with some maintenance, when we arrived it felt shabby but when we got to our room it was better with great facilities. Small things like better shower gel and providing some shampoo and conditioner would improve the room or bring your own! We were surprised on checking out that breakfast hadn't been included so were hit with an extra cost, this wasn't flagged to us at checking in and I didn't notice it at booking, had we known we would have been prepared for the cost but also most likely would have had breakfast outside the hotel. The breakfast was a basket of pastries and bread, choice of hot drink and a glass of orange juice, €10 per person, which for Paris wasn't a bad price and everything was freshly made,

Nice clean room, nice friendly staff, elevator, air conditioning and TV. Basic but nice breakfast served to the table. Relatively peaceful neighbourhood with shops and restaurants nearby.

Feeling of lack of privacy due to poor sound insulation. In the bathroom you can hear and make out what is been talked in the next bathroom even they are clearly talking quietly. There's also a gap under the door to hallway where the slightest noises like wrinkling of a plastic bag or a receipt in their owners hands can be clearly heard let alone talking, even in a lowered voice. Our hallway had little traffic and no real disturbances but such level of sound insulation make you feel quite self aware and not as private as you'd hope.
