It might not be a fairytale castle but it’s quirky; impressive yet unpretentious. It is also the owner’s home and the welcome and attention given to us as guests were impeccable. We used it as a convenient stop on our way to the south of France. Despite being off the beaten path it was easy to find by GPS, maps and the well-placed signs. I particularly liked the homely atmosphere inside, the creaking floor boards, the swimming pool and the surrounding forest.

The wifi signal could have been stronger, especially since there is weak network coverage. I also wished the bed was more comfortable and had light summer sheets apart from the thicker blanket. Some might find the dinner (to be booked in advance) pricey for what you get but then it is very convenient and it was nice to get to know the other guests.

Excellent host who supported us when we had a sick guest and was very flexible with access to facilities. Country location. Car a must but great location for walks.

Peace and quiet. A perfect retreat to rest and recuperate. Friendly host (KIRSTY). Appreciated a hotel with character. Table d´hôte was fun as we shared a meal with four german gentlemen with a good sense of humour. I would thoroughly recommend.

Maybe the access track could do with some improvements. We like to have a kettle in the room for a late night drink, but a kettle is available with tea and coffee in the billiards room and good for socialising with host and other guests.

Super friendly host. The chateau is full of history. Feeling refreshed after spending a magical night there. The dinner is very tasty as well.

Very pleasant stay thanks to our hostess, Kirsty. Very friendly, good atmosphere, easy going, very relaxing. Kirsty is well organised and makes everyone welcome. It is very peaceful and is a good place to relax.

Very nice, calm place. Perfect for running and enjoining nature. Tasty local honey. Exceptional service and pleasant atmosphere. I can highly recommend this place!

Accessible only by car. Restaurants nearby (5-10min drive) work limited hours and not every day

Friendly atmosphere, nice room and good local food. There was a hiking trial just outside in forest which was great for running and a nice pool.

Wifi was slow. The exteriir of house needs some restauration.

The castle is just amazing, to do a film on it. Gilles is at the reception and is quite exceptional and kind.
