Great location for exploring Kakhetian qvevri wines. Comfortable guesthouse wine exceptional hospitality. The owners are a lovely family who provide excellent wines, food, and rooms. Their wines all come from the vines on the property or nearby, and they are made in the traditional qvevri method. The owners speak excellent English (and also Polish!). We are thankful to have met such nice, worldly, hosts with very sweet children.

The state of the property is a bit more disorganized than you expect from the pictures— which is reasonable since the owners are a family with 4 children— but this did not make a problem for our stay. Just mentioning so others are aware, this is more like a home-stay than a hotel.

Service, food and wines were amazing! Friendly people that took care of us like family!

Area is quite abandoned

The Chateau is located in a small town in the Alazani valley. It’s a lovely space with a great garden. We had a delicious mostly vegetarian dinner and yummy breakfast. The wine is also very good. It is a great place to stay, but as other said a car is needed.

-Hard to communicate with the woman since she speaks only Georgian, not even Russian -Ratio value/ money hasn’t satisfied us. For 4 people family 1 night + breakfast + dinner we spent 200euro. We expected children to not pay the full price for the dinner

The Mountain View is nice. Bed sheets and towels were clean. There is a jug of water is the room.

The host doesn’t speak English, Russian, only Georgian. It was quiet difficult to communicate with her. The rooms were not prepared for your arrival. One door in the shower cabin was absent 😅 Twin room is very small and narrow.

The host was nice. Bed comfortable and good food.

The walls are not soundproof so we could hear everything in the room next door. The food was pretty expensive compared to other places in the countryside.

The room was very dirty when we arrived (mostly dust). They tried cleaning it when we asked. Breakfast and diner are tasty, but more expensive then we experienced in the rest of the country.

There could have bees soap & shampoo in the bathroom (had to buy my own in the supermarket).

Accommodations could have been cleaner. Be prepared to be eaten alive by all the mosquitoes. What ruins the experience, and seems to be a trend across Georgia and Armenia, is the practice of claiming to accept credit cards in order to lure tourists to an establishment, only to be told at time of payment that the terminal doesn't work! This is done because the establishment knows that tourists carry cash and will just pay. Some of us rarely carry cash, and it's often inconvenient to search for ATMs in remote villages, so we choose to stay in places that we know are going to accept credit cards as payment. Pretending that the terminal doesn't work, and insisting that I go find an ATM, or use PayPal and continuing this charade is extremely dishonest, duplicitous and downright sleazy. In the end, the terminal miraculously worked, as they always do when you just insist. Because of this experience, I would NOT recommend this place. There are plenty of other guesthouses across Georgia that conduct themselves in a more honest manner.
