Bed was not comfortable

We were traveling with our dog and when we got to our room we were pleasantly surprised. They had prepared the room with a mattress for our dog, some pet food and two bowls. What a delicacy. The room is classically decorated, comfortable and has all the items we need. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is hearty, tasty and if I may make a suggestion, the homemade yorgurt is wonderful. The city is a typical German town, with typical architecture, a cathedral in the center and the hotel on the banks of the Rhine.

Nothing, everything was perfect! Nothing to complain about. I would like to come back soon. I just would prefere to have a room in front of the Rhine. Our was on the opposite side.

Breakfast exceptional, restaurant staff professional, friendly and very helpful. All breakfast items are kept topped up and very fresh, so you can always find everything, even if you arrive towards the end of the breakfast session.

It would have been nice to have been told before booking/ arrival that parking is not free. That said, the hotel's secure car park is very good and woth the €7.50 per night for the peace of mind. Using the publi Parking in front of the hotel costs €6 per day.

The view was spectacular! The room lovely. Buffet plentiful! The location was exactly what we wanted. Easy walk from the train station to the hotel. The outdoor restaurant provided great ambiance! Easy access to the touring boats literally right outside your door.

We did not like our bed. It was two twin sized beds pushed together as one but the beds moved apart during the night as the beds were on wheels! . Not comfortable for a couple sleeping together.

The property was a lovely old traditional German hotel situated by the river Rhine. The facilities and rooms were of a high standard, spacious and Clean. The parking was secure but spaces were limited.

The pillows in the room were not the best they resembled a beanbag which were not the most comfortable. These could be improved for something a bit more structured The following comment in no way detracts from the great service and customer attention provided by the hotel. This is merely a possible additional service comment that may be considered in the future. This may well be just an English thing, but the rooms did not have any Tea or coffee making facilities. Also the hotel did not carry any lime cordial in its bar stock which is also a popular UK drink addition, more than one guest requested lime and soda drinks which could not be achieved.

The location is perfect. The staff are delightful. The old world decor suits and the good breakfast is varied and fresh. Great heating, pleasant meal in restaurant and excellent swimming pool.

Toilet in our room too high. My feet dangled in the air like a small child and the toilet room was very small. The two mattresses on one base were too wide for the base so I felt as if I were tipping out of bed. Solved by putting small pillow between mattress/base. These issues made what should have been an exceptional venue into just a good stay for me.

The beautiful room with a view of the river and a balcony, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and a very elegant individual hotel.

Young lady that checked us in was not very interested nor had attention to detail despite us explaining we had booked three nights over two bookings. Consequently our key didnt work the next day and we had to wait to have it sorted. Then the same lady checked us out and wanted to charge us 81 euros for breakfasts we didn’t have. There wasn’t even an apology after I told her we hadn’t had breakfast. The rest of the staff were helpful and efficient.

This hotel is a hidden gem. This is the second time we’ve been here and will continue to in the future. The rooms are clean and bright and all the facilities are there. The food is absolutely wonderful, however the food in the Chopin Restaurant is above and beyond excellent. The staff will go out of their way to help and advise you. With traditional values and atmosphere, you will not be disappointed. I cannot stress enough how fantastic this hotel and staff are. Would deserve a six plus star review.

perfect location, luxurious hotel but at the same time has a homely, welcoming atmosphere. wonderful view of the river out my window.

The staff didn’t tell me about the Guest Card for the region that allows for free travel. This was incredibly important for someone like me travelling on Eurail which has allocated trips per day.

We loved our room with terrace overlooking the river, the cleanliness of the hotel and the overall ambience of the hotel

The young lady who checked us jn for the three nights didn’t have attention to detail and didn’t see particularly interested in ensuring everything was completed. This resulted jn us being unable to get into our room when we returned after the second day and having to visit the front office and wait on three occasions. The rest of the staff were good.
