The owner was so kind to go extra miles to make sure you feel home at this place. He's explained about the history of Fuessen, all the benefits you can enjoy as guest of Maurshaus such as tourist discounts and etc.

We stayed one night at Maurushaus and were very satisfied. It is an old house with its history and atmosphere, nice and clean. The room was big enough, the beds were good, nothing posh, but there were all facilities we needed, and the price was very good for budget travellers. The hotel is close to the train and bus station. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Herr Alexander explained about the public transport and how to get to Neuschwanstein. He also suggested the sights we should see in Fussen, a lovely small city with a beautiful, nicely restored old part. I would definitely recommend staying at Maurushaus.

Everything! Alexander had taken care of us really well. He provided us with all the information about the town, nearby interesting places, tax, etc. Anything you want to know, you can ask him. The house itself is really beautiful, it’s an old house with hundred of years of histories. All the facilities in the house is perfectly equipped for your need, they even have free parking prepared for you! What more can you asked right? Overall perfect place with perfect price.

Ideal location, right in the city center, almost at the last point where you can still drive your car into the center of the city. The beds were comfy, we slept very well at night. The room and bathroom sizes were good. We had all the basic facilities too. The owners were very kind. Free parking was also important and the complementary tea from the owners was a nice touch.
It gets noisy starting 8 am. If you’re not an early bird, I wouldn’t recommend it, but this was not a problem for us because we wake up anyway around 8 in the morning.

Great location in the center of old town, free parking just over the street. The host Mr Alexander is very friendly and helpful, exceptional in one word. We have got champagne and beer as welcome drink, next day some red wine for the room ... Room itself was clean, spacious and equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was not indicated in the room price but for all that we had got some coffee, juice and cakes in the morning.
No remarks at all , pity we spent only two days on this spot.

It was a wonderfull stay. We've spend a great time in Fussen. Gorgeous nature, cosy tawn, tasty local bear. The hotel owner is very hospitable. We had welcome drinks, good advices about traveling and spending time, and at the end sendwiches to go. In room you can find everything you May need: hairdryer, microwave, frige. Bed is big and comfortable. Breakfast was also great: fresh buns, choice of meat and cheeses, vegetables and fruits, boiled eggs, yogurts, some sweets. But the most important it's a wonderfull service. We were impressed. I also work in a hotel and what I see is that service in a small places is always few times better thank on a big chain hotels. I wish one day I can also manager a small hotel in a place as wonderfull as that one. 💕

You couldn’t ask for better hosts. Upon arrival, the host Alexander brought us into the dining room where he showed us on a map where all the local entertainment was. He informed us about the travel perks and how to save money on parking. He then brought us a complimentary beverage of our choice, I had a beer and my wife had a red wine. We asked for a recommendation for a good restaurant and we were not disappointed. The room was charming, clean, and larger than we expected. His wife was kind and both hosts entertained my wife by encouraging her use of German dialect as she is learning to speak the language. In the morning, we paid a small fee for breakfast, which they encouraged us to pack a lunch to take with us for later in the day. They even provided bags for this. We enjoyed walking around the neighbourhood and found the surrounding area beautiful and equally charming. We would definitely return.

Everything. If it is your first time in Fussen, this is the hotel for you. The nicest hotel owner greets you with a welcome drink while telling you all about the city, places to see, go, how to get to the castles, which busses to take, and gives you maps to accompany that info. It was our second time there so we knew the city a little, but the first time we came we had to figure all of it out the hard way, like spending a lot of times googling busses and just randomly stumbling over a sign to the waterfalls. SO I wish I came here my first time. The owners offer you a nice breakfast, it is pretty early though, 7:30-9:30 for additional 7.50 but it is more then worth it, they give you baggies to take food with you, and if you are heading to the castles and especially if it is Sunday than you should not pass by an opportunity to make yourself a sandwich and grab a banana, cuz you will need it. The room we had was super nice and the bed was comfy and very big, the reclining couch could also easily fit two people if need be. Room also had a ridge, kettle and microwave. It was a steal of a deal!
It's just a minor annoyance, but I wish the curtain rod in the shower was a half circle instead of straight, cuz your shower is a triangle and the curtain keeps on sticking to you back.

A historic 700 year old house. Town centre. Parallel steer to the main road. Quiet. We booked a room with three beds and got an apartment with five beds under the roof. The bathroom was inbetween the two bedrooms. The fifth bed was a through room. Kitchen well equipped. The owner was super nice. Couldn’t do enough. Seemed really disappointed that the rest of the family didn’t also stay in our flat. Didn’t charge extra when our 15 year old daughter was “replaced” by the 24 year old. Breakfast looked awesome and is really good value. We were told we could even take a packed lunch. (Had unfortunately already booked breakfast with the rest of the family elsewhere though).
Love it

It is rare to meet such committed owners, which affects the family atmosphere in the hotel. We came to Fussen with the intention of seeing Neuschweinstein, but what captured our hearts the most were the views of the mountains we saw from the top, thanks to the owner, who recommended us some great places to see. However, the thing we will remember best will be the older gentleman who welcomed us with his all big heart. We still think about the breakfast he prepared for us. He asked us several times if everything tasted good and if we were okay, which touched us very much. The rooms and the entire hotel have their own unique atmosphere. Everything is very clean. We will always remember this place as the best we've ever slept in. The rating of the object is most deserved. PS: Greetings to a cuddly kitty :)
