Excellent ....just far enough away from the bustle for calm....but we walked along the river to get into town. You could get a bus.....but the fresh air and exercise was welcome Very spacious room....all areas were very clean.....surprisingly good for a 3* We were travelling through so just a couple of nights ....but Neckarlux hotel would make a good base for a longer stay in the Heidelberg area. Eco-friendly.

For a 3*....nothing could have been better. I think it's a 3* because its decor is a decade old, good quality marble.....patterned carpets.....but I like the way the hotel doesn't just constantly modernise appearance. It makes the hotel more eco friendly.

Staff were very supportive and friendly. We were upgraded to a larger room with a river view for only a small extra cost and it had everything we needed and was a very good size for the price. We weren't right in the centre of Heidelberg, but it was quieter, which was nice, and it was only a short bus ride into town.

The room was very hot and humid overnight, but we were provided with a fan, which made things more bearable. The fridge didn't work, but water out the tap was pretty cold.

The hotel is located overlooking the river Neckar, which is beautiful. In order to get into Heidelberg you need a car, although I'm sure there is a bus connection too. The room was large and clean. The beds comfy.

I had missed the note that parking needs to be pre-booked and is charged extra. Which was my fault, but be aware if you want to park close to the hotel. Parking along the street is free, but to me looked like it might be difficult to get a space close to the hotel sometimes.

Pros: super clean hotel. It is comfortable. Our room was small but appointed well enough. It had a desk, closet, and luggage shelf. There were 2 chairs on the balcony which we enjoyed immensely. Great, friendly, bi-lingual (at least, German and English), good food, street parking.

Cons: The biggest is it has no air conditioning. I had no idea hotels have no air conditioning. It doesn’t have an elevator, but it’s not a tall building. If you have a river front room it can be noisy. We didn’t care. The Single room is what it says. The bed is big enough for two people but it is 18m2.

Friendly staff that provided good suggestions for local restaurants and trips as well as large and comfortable room with a beautiful view over the river Neckar. Also, very comfortable beds.

The street in front of the house is bit noisy (if you sleep with open window), and I deem the extra charge for their own parking spaces (7€) unnecessary.

Loved the free upgrade to a river view room. Lovely little balcony with large opening glass door. Great location, bus stop outside to go into old town(7stops). Easy cycle. Family run restaurant with excellent food. Breakfast available at an extra cost. Parking also available at an extra cost as well.

The hotel sits between 2 roads, if you are a light sleeper the road noise could be a problem. A fan supplied as no Airconditioning! There was a kettle but no cups etc. To our surprise there was a small refrigerator

Everything was great. The location was nice, far enough away to be not so loud, but close enough to make it easy to get to the city center. The staff were super nice, and very helpful. My room over looked the river, and it was a great view.

The only reason i didnt give it a perfect 10, is because they offer laundry service, but at the time their machine was broke.

Magnificent view from our room over the river Neckar. Good food. The manager was very friendly and considerate. We were allowed to have coffee in the morning even though we hadn't paid for breakfast.

There is no lift and it was very difficult to haul our heavy bag up to the top floor. Dinner was expensive compared to what we are used to, and limited choice. My 7-year daughter wrote on a post-it: "This is not the best hotel I have ever stayed at but I liked the view". No tea or coffee in the room

Everything,especially the balcony right next to the Neckar river,where you can see the beautiful traditional houses and forested mountainous terrain.This hotel is run by a beautiful family who go out of their way to give advice and tips about Heidelberg sightseeing or anything else. The bed is orthopedic, adapts to the body contours,therefore is both extremely comfortable and very good for the body. Bus to the centre is just outside.Major supermarket is 3 minutes walk away.

Excellent location on the River Neckar with beautiful views across and pleasure boats travelling along. Car parking available if booked. Good outdoor terrace for breakfast in the sun!!. Large comfortable bedroom and ensuite. Shutters to keep room dark and reduce traffic noise to a very low level. Bus runs along the road of the hotel entrance into town. Helpful friendly staff and good recommendation to eat dinner at an excellent local Italian restaurant 10 mins walk along the road!! Comfortable beds.
