Our room faced the river and the ferry, so we spent ages on the balcony with cups of coffee, just watching life on the river. The hotel is right at the entrance to the national park, lots of hike routes start here and we were able to make the most of the balmy autumn weather and stunning woods. Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and delicious. We will be back, as there's still lots to see and lots to do in this area.

The pool water was very cold, so we only tried it once. I'm normally ok with colder water, but not only was the pool very, very small, the water was really chilly.

the staff were AMAZING. so accommodating. We initially booked a non-AC room because we didn’t know the hotel had AC available. We were sweltering. So we asked for any fan or anything and they actually upgraded us at minimal cost and we moved to an AC room. The staff stayed after their shift to assist us with this. Really above and beyond. They were friendly too

The first room was insanely hot but we didn’t want to open the windows because the mosquitos were quite bad. That bed as comfy but when we changed rooms to an AC room the bed was very hard and with bad backs it wasn’t the most comfortable sleep

Amazing location. Great stuff. View from a balcony is to die for. Saunas and swimming pool are great after a long day of hiking. Surprisingly, for breakfast and dinner - a lot of vegan options.

Pillows weren't the best

Hotel in a great location overlooking the Elbe river and rocks, accessible only by ferry. Room superbly furnished and comfortable, with welcome wine and online check-in. You have to book online also a seat at the breakfast/dinner table, but all works fine. Spacious wellness area, bathrobes and towels available in the room. Beginning of the hiking trails. Great for active relax. Mostly Czech staff.

The balcony was illuminated long into the night, it automatically turned off (I couldn't find the switch) so you don't have an unobstructed view of the night and the starry sky, pity.

The location is absolutely marvelous. It's right in front of the river and the ferry stop. You can start your hikes to the bastion right from the hotel 0 either the longer or shorter hikes. The terrace is facing the river is a great place to spend some idle time. You get unlimited trips in the ferry with the "Guest Card". On the opposite side of the river, there is a parking place where you can leave your car for free (the hotel will give you a free parking ticket). The parking place has an electric charging station in case you drive electric. I left it charging overnight without any additional surcharges.

Having to book the exact time for dinner and breakfast caused unnecessary pressure, particularly because there was plenty of flexibility during our stay. On the day of our arrival, we got there relatively late and wanted to hike to the Bastion to watch the sunset. We barely made it back on time for our dinner slot and were quite exhausted. It was not necessary to run as the room was only half full.

The room was very nice and clean. The shower was large and there was a lot of space to place your stuff in the bathroom - not very frequent these days. The ferry is free for hotel guest as well as the parking on the other bank of the Elbe river.

The mattresses very already quite used, so the sleep comfort wasn’t the best. The food for the dinner could be much better - we decided to eat elsewhere after the first night.

The views from the room and balcony are great. The breakfast was very tasty. For dinner they have fish, meat and vegetarian options. The swimming pool is small, but while we were there it was never crowded. The person in charge of the hotel that weekend was very friendly.

It would be great if some small desserts would be available for dinner (e.g. yogurt or fruits)

Large and comfortable room with an exquisite view. Completely digitalized hotel with self check-in, except for restaurant staff, no humans visible, but everything worked without a glitsch.

Dinner included on half- board I could have done without; a mediocre buffet. Also breakfast no more than OK. Real check-in was one hour later than stated in the Booking confirmation.

Kurort Rathen and this hotel is a very nice place to relax and unwind. Cars can't drive into the village so it's very quiet around and you can enjoy the view from the balcony and listen to the sound of the Elbe water. The hotel has a very good wellness center with a small pool and various types of saunas. And it is a paradise for those who love hiking.

There were few spots on a sheer curtain right at the eye level.. unpleasant to see
