Lovely location about a 20-min scenic walk from Rothenburg. Our family room (double and two singles) was very comfortable with an old-style wooden bedroom and a modern bathroom. There was a nice shared sitting area where my son and I played our board games before dinner. The restaurant was cosy with excellent German food and breakfast was a generous mix of cold cuts, eggs, bread, cereals and good coffee from an espresso machine. Good to have easy parking in the rear, too.

The staff could have been a tiny bit more open and friendly. But no issues.

Staff were very friendly. We were late, and forgot front desk will have no staff on site after 6:00pm, staff emailed me twice asking when we would check in, but I did not check email, when we finally arrived at hotel around 8:20pm, staff is still waiting for us, and helped us to get settled. We really appreciated. Next morning, my friend was not filling well, and missed breakfast time, the gentleman asked cooker to prepare sandwich for her, make her feel at home.

Room was little hot, no air condition but I guess that could be normal in DE.

Friendly staff, they have the information prerecorded in your language. There is a path to the actual town with signs and lights , we followed it under the full moon and nothing bad happened! The town decorated for Christmas is fabulous . We went in the first day at the opening of the Christmas fair . It was mostly with the locals and it was colorful, cosy and not to crowded. The town is truly charming, day and night! So many unique corners to discover...

A lovely place - just out of rothenburg town that is perfect for the price. Breakfast was also great. A nice walk to town - but you do need to have enough fitness do walk 2.5km and up a hill - which we found not a problem.

Sorry - but there was a couple.of things. The curtains were see through so it was light very early in the morning - so our sleep was not great. The neighbour's also arrived to their room around 11pm and we could hear them talking and everything creaking and moving - which was also a little hard for us to sleep.

Great location for exploring the nearby medieval town of Rothenburg. The staff were polite and professional. The main bar and restaurant are superb - after a lengthy drive we enjoyed a splendid evening in the bar with a first class meal. The room was spacious and had a gorgeous view over the church and surrounding area. Breakfast was plentiful and with a good choice. The room was spacious, clean and warm.

All good. The only recommendation I would suggest is to have the excellent local tourist information, found in our room, translated into other languages, English would have been handy for us.

The staff was extremely friendly. The food was delicious. The room was nice and clean and the view from the window was amazing. The beds are comfy and good size. They have all sort off leaflets and program books what you need to know from Rothenburg. Good location and one off the best places if you have a dog. The town is only 15 minutes uphill if you fancy a walk. We really liked to stay there and will definitely go back in the future.

Listed location wasn’t accurate. It says less than a mile from downtown Rothenburg ob der Tauber when in fact it’s in Detwang. A village well down the hill from the main town and a challenging walk up a very steep walk path.

I recommend the hotel and overall staying in Detwang was a great decision. The room was big and clean, the bathroom had a shower, towels and small cosmetics. The parking is for free - we had no issues to find a place on the street or backyard. The breakfast had a big variety of fresh products. The staff was very helpful and told us a lot of useful info about visiting Rothenburg. Overall I recommend seeing not only Rothenburg but also spending some time on walking the romantic route through the fields to the city and see the church in Detwang (open 2-4pm). Detwang is like a place from a fairy tale.

Typical German inn, clean and well organized. Convenient as a base to explore the surroundings and beautiful Rothemburg. Ample parking space. Super quiet room even on New Year's Eve! Very good and tasty breakfast especially the salty part

Worn carpet with old stains and no elevator. In general the room should be updated (mattresses, curtains, carpet, etc.)

Breakfast is amazing! The room was spacious (we were 3 adults) and we had plenty of space. Location was good - only 20 minutes walk from downtown (a hill) and very close to the hiking spots. Free parking. Staff was friendly and very patient: we had lots of questions about the hike and I needed more time To check out due to a health issue- I really appreciate their flexibility.

There is no lift and my grandmother had a hard time to go upstairs (the accommodations are on the second floor). The bedroom had no blackout curtains- so it was very lightful in the morning.
