Our absolute favorite stay in Germany, and we’ve stayed near the Alps and other beautiful places. Our room overlooked the Rhine Gorge, down onto St. Goar and St. Goarshausen, as well as the Rhine River dividing the towns. The breakfast was fantastic. The staff, from the reception to the restaurant to the cleaning staff, were so friendly and helpful. Again, our favorite stay in 10 years of traveling to Germany.

It is typical in German hotels to provide instant coffee in the room, which is not my favorite. Knowing that, I brought my own Aeropress and ground coffee, and used the kettle in the room for hot water. The coffee at breakfast is fantastic, so if you don’t need a cup first thing in the morning (like I do), you can always wait until breakfast and you’ll get a great cup of coffee. But if you want coffee in the room, and don’t love instant coffee, I recommend bringing your own brewer and coffee. PRO TIP: I don’t recommend a French press because you’ll have to dump the loose grounds into a trash can with no trash bag. However, you can empty the Aeropress “puck” or used pour-over coffee filter into the sanitary plastic bags in the bathroom for mess-free disposal.

Hotel is in a great location, on first arrival a very impressive entrance and looks fantastic, staff where very friendly and welcoming , room was fantastic with wonderful views over looking the small town and the river Rhine , room was very spacious, very clean and tidy, bathroom was very clean and tidy, shower was amazing, lovely decorated rooms, tea and coffee making facilities, and mini bar in room, the pool was nice size to have a swim and a sunbath or relaxing out on the terrace was lovely, the two restaurants where wonderful with friendly staff great tasting food all over looking the river Rhine , breakfast was wonderful with lots of yummy selection of foods and great views,

Found it hard to sleep at night with no air conditioning, it was in middle of summer so very hot, did open windows but found I would get bitten by the midges at night

smoking was allowed on the terrace. One smoker ruined it for everybody else. there should be a smoking area out in the parking lot area. It is insane that they allow a beautiful place like that to be compromised by someone who smokes

There are 4 of us and a small dog travelling in a motorhome around Germany. This was a welcomed stay and the first night in a hotel which was dog friendly for an extra charge of €25. Hotel staff were friendly, rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was delicious with a beautiful view. We had dinner in the restaurant the night we arrived with no reservation. The hotel staff sorted us a table and moved us by the window as soon as space become available. The food was delicious. I ordered the salmon which was perfect. Would highly reccomend the apple crumble too! You won't be disappointed. Wish we had more than one night at the hotel. Will be back again when we travel to that side and add on a massage. Would reccomend the hotel and a meal with a beautiful view

A fabulous location, a room with a view high from a cliff above the Rhine river- simply magnificent! Great facilities like sauna, indoor pool, massages. Exquisite 180 degree views from main dining room and top class restaurant. Overall comfortable and top class.

We booked here hoping to get the full castle experience. We arrived and were told we could not explore Schloss Rheinfel at all due to repair work. It was cordoned off and surrounded by scaffolding. I felt anyone who booked into this hotel should be informed PRIOR to arrival. We travelled from Australia and planned much of our holiday around this castle experience. I was bitterly disappointed.

I liked my room with its pleasant colours as well as the beautiful view from it. The pool and wellness area were very good as well as the fabulous view from the breakfast room. Breakfast was nicely varied and they serve it until 11am - wonderful!

The staff at breakfast could have been nicer and more welcoming when I arrived at 10h35. They made a remark about my late (???) arrival and started to hoover already at 10h50. This should not happen in such kind of hotel.

The view from the room was fantastic and the castle setting was hard to beat. I celebrated my birthday there and was greeted with a birthday card in my room which was a delight. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed to make our stay an enjoyable one. The location is ideal, offering spectacular river views. It’s peaceful and offers a good breakfast.

We saw that electric car charging was advertised and planned to charge overnight. We arrived and discovered that only one park had a charger which was occupied.

The view from the room was amazing. The room was comfortable, and very clean. The staff were very friendly, the woman on reception showed me around and was able to check me in early which was a huge help. They also helped accommodate my allergies at the restaurant, which was thoughtful. The wine was magnificent.

The price at the restaurant for food was quite high, but definitely worth it for the quality. It's quite a walk up the hill from the train station and I can't recall getting any information on a shuttle or bus even though I do believe there may have been one. That was probably my fault however, and can't say anything negative about the location when you have such a great view of the river and towns below.

The hotel is in a unique, unique location. It has excellent views and is part of a fantastic castle overlooking the Rhine. Breakfast is great, again with great views. The hotel provides parking. The area is beautiful and great for hikes and other activities.

The staff could be more friendly. We had two rooms in two separate buildings. Also, the space and luxury level varies a lot per room. It is a pity that so many restaurants and cafes are closed in this beautiful region.

Beautiful castle hotel with great spa , bedroom and breakfast . Evening meal and drinks on terrace lovely and great garage to secure our bikes . The staff were excellent.

Was not aware of the hill / don’t think made clear on booking and after cycling 70km to get there a big push up hill . Think hotel should have shuttle minibus to help guests up and down the very steep hill . Also the second room we booked for my sister / brother in law was tiny yet same price as mine which was disappointing for them .
