The food was excellent, and the room we had, majestic! Despite not speaking German there were no misunderstandings. Hotel Pilgrimhaus is right next to the wall of Soest, and highly evocative of the city, and the hotel's, medieval origins. Easy walk into the centre, and a walk round the walls is a must.

I didn't not like anything, although there may be an issue with parking, it being essentially a medieval hotel it wasn't designed for automobiles. Having said that our classic sports car, to which we a are very attached, was safely accommodated round the corner.

We were very concerned that we would have to climb stairs, because of a temporary disability due to surgery. Edith Santana made sure we had an apartment in the back where stairs were not an issue. She did everything she could to make sure we had a comfortable stay. Edith is by far the best thing about the property! In addition, it is a charming little hotel. We couldn’t have been more pleased with the facility. It had an old world charm that we just don’t have in the States. The restaurant was wonderful and the food was great! Best meal I’ve had in Europe! I just can’t say enough about the place!

Not a thing!

We took 3 Rooms at this location for 4 nights. The location is ideal, just a short stroll to the centre of Soest. Its located adjacent the ancient town wall which circles Soest and is a charming walk of approx 3 to 4km in length. It took us about 45 minutes to complete the walk. The restaurant facilities are VERY GOOD. The chef and his/her staff providing very good meals to a very high standard. As for the German Beers....Delicious. Breakfast each morning was of continental style ++++, and was also of a high standard. The staff were all friendly and answered any of our questions/needs professionally and promptly. The building is historic and is well maintained. We had a great time.

Honestly, given the natural constraints of an ancient and historic building, there was nothing unexpected.

Hotel Pilgrimhaus is a beautiful property. The details inside reflect the period it was built. I highly recommend this hotel because of its beauty. Because of its helpful staff and its location in Soest.

There there was nothing to be unsatisfied with at this property. It was fantastic.

It was old with great character. The restaurant on the first floor was packed both nights I was there.

The reception for lodging was also the restaurant’s check out, right in the middle. I had to roll my suitcase through the restaurant.

The Pilgrimhaus is perfectly placed to visit Soest and the area. The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful The building is a fantastic combination of the really old with modern comfort.

The are no downsides to the Pilgrim house. The location and the nature of the confines of Soest (12th Century walled town) would always make parking difficult. there is a free car park very close by.

I come here since 1996 and always love it.

The really ONLY thing that cuts abit into the experience is the breakfast. Buffet food quite unengaging, and has been looking abit abandoned in recent years. We d prefer less, but higher quality products, better coffee and slightly better breakfast service.

The room was very spacious, bright, and clean. They provided an electric kettle in the room on request. The bed was comfortable.

There was some repair work going on in the building and they cut off the water supply without notice. It was very inconvenient. On the first day I did not even have drinking water. I wish the reception desk had informed in advance about such eventuality. Even a slip on the door would have helped.

A hotell in an ancient, very pretty building. The room was a bit outdated but very clean and nice. We had a good evening meal in the cosy beargarden. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast. A very short walk to the city center.

Since the building is very old you have to climb high narrow stairs to get to the room. No parking on site, but nearby.

Beautiful old hotel, full of character., in the fascinating Fachwerkstadt of Soest. Comfortable bed and good-sized, modern bathroom. Excellent breakfast and great food in the restaurant.

Only minor quibbles: e.g. intermittent Wi-Fi.
