Very peaceful and cozy place in the small town of Diafani. Short way down to the harbor with a great beach and several cozy taverns and cafes. The staff were very welcoming and answered all informative questions. You were well taken care of. Everything was clean and nice and always new clean towels and bed linen. The hotel is personal and has everything you need. The rooms are large and a fantastic view from the balcony towards the sea. You wake up to a warm, beautiful morning sun. In the evening is the shade to cool off on the balcony absolutely fantastic after a long day in the sun on the beach.
We found nothing to dislike about this hotel which has a lot of charm

Nikos, the owner, was fantastic, he turned up at the port at 3am to meet the ferry, which was nearly 7 hours late. The room was perfect for me, a decent size with functioning air-con and fridge, there was also a nice balcony with a lovely view over rooftops to the village and sea beyond. For a small extra charge Nikos drove me to Olympos, the must-see traditional village up a pretty nerve-wracking mountain road, and came back to collect me later.
The hotel was fine but the location really is remote, one bus a week, that's it unless you can get a ride from a returning tourist boat to Pigadia and that's not certain. There are no taxis and I ended up paying someone to take me back over the mountain to Pigadia about 90 minutes hair-raising drive away. A car is a must but the road is all mountainous hairpin bends with occasional rock-falls; you need to be a confident driver.

The wrap-around balcony overlooking the village and sea was amazing and we loved having a studio with two rooms (also with an amazing balcony), kitchenette and bathroom. Everything was kept clean daily and Manolis, Maria, Nikos and the family really went the extra mile to make sure all guests enjoyed their stay. Someone was always there during breakfast to answer questions and give recommendations for the day so you get the most out of your vacation. You can also book boat excursions through nikosboat.com and it is fun to ask about their boat trips and experiences (we hope to do a boat tour next time). The family is an integral part of tourism and the history of tourism in Diafani and on Karpathos. They are great communicators and deal with guests from many different cultures with ease.
Nothing to report here. If there is a problem, just be sure to communicate it and they will fix it. I actually dropped the showerhead in the shower one evening and the plastic part broke off. I reported it and a new one was installed immediately during the daily cleaning.👍Top. Manolis recommended getting a rental car for the duration of our stay and we came at the end of the season, so please be aware public transportation is extremely limited and it is best to have a rental. We were happy to have a car to explore the island for our 15 days there.

We had a friendly, bright, airy corner room (No.6), small but adequate. Small, really cold fridge. At our request we were even given an electric water kettle. Very small bathroom, but great and hot shower. Everything super clean, daily cleaning. Linen and towels are changed every few days - very nice in the heat. Large corner balcony, so we could almost always sit in the shade. Nice view over the small village of Diafani towards the sea and the mountains — and the sunrise! The breakfast (buffet, included in the room rate) is ok. If you need something special: it's best to just ask for it! Our kind hosts Maria and Manolis always tried to help, and they also have good tips. Manolis conveniently offers a driving service. And if you like to explore Northern Karpathos by boat: his father Nikos offers boat trips. Quiet outside, as there is little traffic, and everything in tiny Diafani can be reached easily on foot.
Depending on how much luggage you have, you might find the storage options a bit limited — our room didn't have a closet because it was too small. The house is poorly soundproofed, so sometimes you hear the other cohabitants of the hotel.

Absolutely enchanting stay at Nikos Hotel in Diafani, Greece! A hidden gem just a stone's throw away from the sun-kissed beach, this place is a paradise for relaxation. Maria's warm and gracious hospitality added a personal touch to the experience, and her delectable daily cakes were a delightful treat. The breakfast spread was a gastronomic delight, offering an impressive variety. Manolis also deserves special mention for his exceptional kindness and courtesy. His reasonable transfer services across the island were a boon, providing a cost-effective alternative to other options. And the cherry on top? The opportunity to sign up for Nikos's private boat trips to untouched beaches, an absolute spectacle of beauty.

I was picked up at the port, and driven all the way to the hotel, an hour drive, without charge, and to my big surprise the breakfast was included in. I felt at home the second I entered the premisses, and was treated as a family-member my entire stay. The beach is 100 m from the hotel, and Nikos offers several boattrips to different locations on the island every week. This place is rare! This family is NOT it this industry for the money, but because of the love for having guests. Most of their guests does not bother to go anywhere else, but keep returning year, after year, and you can tell by the atmosphere at the breakfast, were we all interact. This is the famous greek filoxenia at its best!
Leaving.

Maria, Manolis, Nikos, Marina, are wonderful guest! We've immediatly set good and sincere relations with all of them. All of them took care of us over what could be expected: simply wonderful. Breakfast is simple, but with plenty of excellent food, especially hand made cakes and jam. Special mention for Maria that has been very friendly and kind to us. We'll surely come back next year.

It’s a small family owned hotel, where you almost feel like part of the family. We had a bedroom and a kitchen and a faboulous view from our balcony. Cleen towels and beddings every second day. Having breakfast in the dining room with other guest, was nice and relaxed. They’ll help you with anything, and Nikos and Manoli arrange wonderful cruises to the northern island Saria and other places.
Nothing wrong at all

Lovely traditional Greek hotel run by a friendly family. Great location a few minutes walk to the beach and restaurants. Good sized room and big balcony with beautiful views of sea and mountains. Excellent breakfast and comfortable bed.
The doors to the balcony were very stiff and noisy.
