We had a perfect stay here! Wonderful location, beautiful garden, comfortable room, lovely hosts, next to an amazing beach - everything was so good. The whole place is really well taken care of, quiet, calm, and free of crowds. Nice food at the taverna, too. It was just what we needed. Sfakia is a really special, interesting and beautiful place. We really wish we could have stayed for much longer. We will be back for sure! One small suggestion to the hosts: it would be nice if you could send an automatic message to guests after booking, to have confirmation from you directly (not just Booking), and to give some information about contacting you for questions and arrival. It is just a small extra that calms the nerves of anxious travelers :)

Everything was perfect, no complaints.

My daughters stayed by themselves and they loved their (newly refurbished) and impeccably equipped apartment. The view and location are exceptional. The garden and greenery are a fantastic bonus. Overall, they were extremely happy. The only thing that would make this establishment even better would be a swimming pool area: the beach, although beautiful, is a steep climb up and down and since it is not organised, one cannot spent the hottest hours of the day there.

The beach is not easily accessible, which makes the absence of a swimming pool (for use during the hottest part of the day) rather regrettable.

Awesome 2-story apartment with TWO bathrooms with showers. Clean, modern and stylish. Great quiet location amongst olive trees sitting above a pretty beach with good restaurants within walking distance. Great balcony upstairs with nice partially blocked sea view, patio on ground floor as well. Access to use single laundry machine (no dryer). Free bikes to checkout at front desk. Staff very helpful, welcoming and friendly! Arranged champagne and snack dish for anniversary celebration in room which was great. Helped with sightseeing plans.

The AC was upstairs in bedroom on lowest temp setting and could not keep the upstairs cool enough, and cool air did not get downstairs to kitchen, bathroom and living areas… way too hot to be comfortable and it wasn’t peak summer hot season. If anyone was along staying on sofa beds they wouldn’t have been able to sleep even with ceiling fans running. As usual with many European rooms, key card required in slot to power all electricity to run AC and lights so always hot when away for day. Rooms aren’t cleaned daily, not a huge deal but clean towels would be a plus. Probably would clean if asked I’m assuming.

Very good location, right on top of Akti Ammos beach. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Villas located in a picturesque olive grove.

Air con converters of neighbours just outside the terrace. So when neighbours switch on the aircon at night, the noise of the converter forces you to shut your terrace door and switch on your aircon as well.

The apartment was very comfortable, modern and spacious and it is located inside this residence just in front of the sea. The reception is located at the residence's entrance and it is always open. The staff is very kindly and helpful, they clean the room and change the towels every day. There are a couple of nice taverns just outside the residence, above the beach Orthi Ammos. The added value is the sky you can see in the night when you can only hear the sea.

We have stayed at Fata Morgana 4 times before and love the place and the family that cares for it. We were impressed by the upgrades since our last visit. We love it so much that I hesitate to give a rave review because part of what we love is that the area is not crowded with tourists. Quiet beach (with a clothing optional section), lots of tavernas within walking distance, lots of wonderful walks and hikes all over SW Crete.

Hard to think of anything. Maybe brighter light bulbs for reading?

Tastefully decorated, very comfortable apartment with full kitchen and everything you need for a great stay. The complex is in an excellent location at Orthi Ammos beach, which is stunning, and is a two minute walk from a fantastic taverna with a great sea view. The large bed was firm but very comfortable, and windows and patio doors have shutters, which is great, especially in early summer when the sun rises early. Staff were helpful and friendly and we were able to check in early and check out late which was very helpful.

The air con is a little trickier to use than some, but once I figured out the right mode to use it was very efficient in the bedroom but didn't alter the temperature much in the lounge area.

The rooms were very clean and even if we had some problems with our room, the host solved it really quick. The location is amazing, the garden is very nice and is right next to the beach. Very close you can find great taverns where you can eat local food (very delicious).

In the first night we had a window open and at 6.30 AM, from the olive trees, some insects started to make a lot of noise, but after closing the window we could sleep very well.

Loved this complex. Friendly receptionist who greeted us sweetly and showed us up to our apartment. We were closest flat to sea on upper floor, great great views. Fab clean apartment, lovely shower, all good. Water left in fridge for you. Best bit was we were tiny distance from fab beachside restaurant where we had breakfast and all suppers during our stay. Delightful staff, great food and modest prices. The cicadas rule here. From sunrise to evening they sing away, it is actually v v loud. I mean raise your voice to be heard loud. But fun. You can park in shade of a tree just by your apartment. I was told washing machines available but didn’t need.

I loved everything, except the AC wasn’t perfect. I wonder if my flat had been unoccupied for a while and stored heat? On the first night even with it on full I could not sleep in the bedroom (which had no AC and just an overhead fan which just moves warm air around) but had to lie on the sofa in the main room right under the AC unit. Second night was better. Also, some shampoo, shower gel would be very welcome. Fortunately we had some from previous hotel, but we who travel budget airlines don’t always carry many liquids so it really helps to supply.

Everything, good location, beautiful beaches around, really nice, friendly and helpful staff, free bike rental, great taverns around. The appartement was really modern, clean with air conditioning and mosquito nets on the windows. Very calm and relaxed place.

Nothing. Don’t expect a cool summer on Crete in July, but this has nothing to do with the apartment. We still recommend it for everyone.
