Mykonos town is a pedestrian zone, and the hotel is located 50 meters from where the crowded part of the city starts. It is build around a garden, and coming home into this green oasis is really nice. Our room had a balcony, from which we could look into the green, but also see the rest of the city. For such a central location the hotel was remarkably quiet. The room and bathroom were clean, and even though everything was a bit basic it was perfectly adequate for our stay. I wanted to mention for future reference that taxi's cannot access the hotel, because it is located inside the pedestrian city center (part of its great location). From where taxis drop you off - at the top of the pedestrian street - you need to walk downwards for about 2-4 minutes: 2 minutes without luggage, 4 minutes with luggage. Just be aware of it. Same procedure for leaving by taxi: taxi picks you up at the top of the street so you have to walk with your luggage up a steep-ish alleyway for 3-4 minutes. This was only a tiny bit annoying at arrival and departure, but the great central location of the hotel made up for it by far, and during our stay we only walked around the pedestrian city center, perfectly accessible from Matina Hotel.

Location was great and it offered good value for our money, relative to other options in Mykonos.

There was no shower curtain in the bathtub which made it very difficult to have a stand-up shower without spraying water everywhere. There was no kettle or iron. It would be helpful to let guests know about the water taxi from the new port to the old port that costs only 2 EUR per person, and provide walking directions to the hotel from there. A taxi fare is ~25 EUR and still requires walking a short distance to the hotel.

From the moment we arrived, she made us feel like we were long-lost friends, warmly welcoming us and making sure we had everything we needed. Her knowledge about everything Mykonos-related is remarkable. Whether it was advice on the best restaurants, hidden gems on the island, or navigating the local culture, Maria knew it all—and she shared her insights with enthusiasm and genuine care. We honestly felt like we had our own personal tour guide. And, of course, we must mention her amazing spoken English, which made communication so easy and enjoyable. Her ability to know what we were saying and to reply with a smile really elevated our experience We couldn't have asked for a better base for our Mykonos adventure. Matina Hotel provided the perfect blend of relaxation and charm, and Maria’s presence truly made it a memorable stay. The hotel is very serene. We are spending our honeymoon trip in Greece and stayed in Mykonos for a day and sleep in Matina Hotel. We arrived abit early for check in we are greeted and received by Tania the most lovely person we ever met. She recommend us restaurants and things to do around the Island. She is very charming . My husband and I were very glad of the warm welcome and we are surprised of the wine for two as a detail of our stay . ✨🥂 It makes our trip very romantic and we sleep so well at night . Very quiet and very relaxing all the time. From the bottom of my heart ,Thank you a lot. This is the most wonderful experience we ever had. The staff were amazing! Constantly trying to help us out with information, booking taxis, providing us with detailed information about the beaches on check in. They also figured out it was my wife’s birthday and provided us with a surprise in the room of wine and lovely flowers! Overall very very nice people. The hotel was perfectly located in the main town, not too central which avoided the music of clubs and allowed us a good sleep. It has probably the largest garden area of most of the hotels in town which provided a utopia escape from the busy central town. The value for money was excellent. Oh and a good thing to know! It’s 5 min walk to the main road so really not far to go with your luggage from the a taxi. Thank you everyone at Matina!

Perfect location in the city of Mykonos, we were able to move walking everywhere. The staff were wonderful, helpful and very nice, thanks for your hospitality and help :) It was a wonderful experience. We had a problem ordering food to the room with a local restaurant and they even offer to call them and speak with them! They solve the problem and we were really grateful. Thanks Maria & company!! It was really nice meeting you ;) The room was also really nice, clean and there were really complete amenities in the bathroom amenities. The hostel is has quite the "Mamma Mia" vibes. We didn't try the breakfast but I bet it had to be good!

I arrived around 9.30am and I had messaged the hotel prior to ask if I could leave in my bag. They confirmed I could and were extremely helpful telling me the bus timetable from airport to town. I arrived and my room was ready! The hotel grounds are beautiful. It's right in town so you can walk everywhere. Maria was so helpful and kind. She spent a long time going through a map of island and giving suggestions. I couldn't believe how great they were. All the staff were friendly and always smiling. They gave a bottle of water and juice on check in which was so fantastic after travelling for 24 hours. Just what a weary traveller needs Couldn't recommend Matina enough. Thank you Maria and all staff.

Matina Hotel, though located right in the heart of Mykonos Town (Chora), is in a relatively quiet part where there are no shops or dining places, so it is ideal for older people like us. The place is quaint, with a garden in the middle, and a garden set in front the rooms where guests can sit and chat at night.

Nothing to not like about the property, except perhaps a warning about the usual story of Greek island properties— to reach them, one needs to drag one’s luggage through narrow cobbled streets (poor suitcase wheels huhuhu), with a few steps climb and descent here and there, not exactly ideal for older and physically challenged people.

The property is beautiful. Rooms are big and accommodating with TV. Bathroom is amazing have an option to shower or bath and the bath has a jacuzzi button which is optional. Staff are friendly and welcoming and give you all the best recommendations on where to go. They even have up to date timetable of Seabus and buses in main reception which is useful. The hotel is pretty central near windmills. Little Italy and viewpoint and bus station. Everything is less than 10 mins to walk. From old port only 10 mins to walk. Pretty close. Thank you for such a beautiful stay.

Perfect stay at Matina hotel! Small hotel in the center of Mykonos but slightly away from all the music and noise, it's an oasis of calmness. Very clean room, comfortable beds, AC worked well, little fridge in the room. Lovely garden Maria in the reception was awesome: gave us lots of advise on how to enjoy our time in Mykonos and made us feel welcome. I would return to this hotel if visiting Mykonos in the future

Price was adequate for Mykonos but high vs what you would pay for an equivalent hotel on another Greek island. Bathroom was very clean and functional but a bit outdated
