great location. A tuk tuk to ferry or town center was a short 10 minute ride. Right next to the lake with beautiful views. Gardens are very good. Had considered AirBnB (Balam Ya) but glad that I stayed at Hotel Atitlan because of access to town center. Reviewers had complained about hot water - I had no issues. Taxi to airport arrived exactly on time.

Very very poor WiFi. No coffee/tea in room. Some furniture, not all, in room is not classy. It looks cheap trying to replicate 'antique.' All rooms have balconies facing the lake but views from some rooms (e.g. 207) is obscured by tall trees in the gardens. Tuk tuks are not readily available at hotel. Each time had a wait 20 minutes after requesting one. Pool closes at 6pm, a bit too early for a vacation spot.

Hotel Atitlan is a lovely property, full of antiques and incredible cultural art. The views of the lake and volcano were spectacular. The restaurant was very good, and the staff at the restaurant and housekeeping were excellent. Getting a tuc-tuc was very easy, and the grounds were wonderful to explore.

Our stay was limited by the refusal of the front desk to give us the king bed we had booked through booking.com. We were given a room with two full beds, and after expressing disappointment the first night, we were not asked or approached to change our situation. The restaurant food was very good, but it was pricey to attend breakfast on the weekends and have a highly priced buffet as the main option. We did ask for a menu, but were told that ordering off the menu would take a longer time, and overall you could see that they preferred you to eat at the buffet. The location is off the beaten path, which is a real plus, but you'll have to be comfortable taking a tuc-tuc into town if you're looking to eat out or party in Pana.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Atitlan. The rooms are spacious and beds were comfortable. And the view from our double bed normal room was breathtaking as it looked out onto the garden, lake and volcano. The gardens are so very well kept and relaxing to walk through. You can tell how much love and care goes into the grounds. The restaurant and pools also have stunning views of the lake and volcano. I stayed here with my husband and 3 and 5 year olds. While we only saw one other small kid at the hotel, it was super kid friendly. The hotel was great with helping us with a tuk tuk ride into town and with setting up a boat ride to another village on the lake. I would without a doubt stay here again.

The bathroom had some mold on the ceiling and everything is a bit dated. Overall those things didn't bother us and again I'd highly recommend staying at this hotel!

This hotel is the White Lotus of Guatemala (including a helicopter pad on the property that drops off guests). The hotel architecture and art is beautiful and authentic. Rooms are beautifully decorated/appointed. The meals were 10:10 and the staff is exceptionally attentive and helpful with organizing transportation/events. The grounds have a perfect lake/volcano view and the grounds/manicured gardens are world class. It is walking distance from a fantastic Nature Conservancy and there is direct access to the lake for activities.

The local community is mainly poor/lives modestly - many without running water or any means of transport. The luxury of the hotel is a big disconnect with the community. On our last day a group of 100 U.S. doctors came on a work event and took over the restaurant and pool area - were loud and drunk and ruined the peace and beauty of the hotel. Seems like the hotel could be a hot spot for corporate events where this may be likely and impact your stay.

Service was great, everyone had a great attitude and were pleasant all around. Gardens and grounds were immaculate and the art work was gorgeous.

The bed was a bit hard and the chairs in the room were for smaller/average size people, being a plus size traveler, it was difficult finding a good chair for the outdoor seating area. There were also some odds and ends that could have been better, like the shower head being maintained so it was not flooding the whole bathroom. There is no elevator, so if you have trouble going up stairs, ask for a 1st floor room. It’s not very accessible overall. Food was just ok and for the prices, should have been better. They do bill much higher, almost American pricing for the area.

The location, the friendly staff, the hotel itself (decor, comfort, garden, access to the lake, etc.) Booking sold a standard room with king bed using pictures from the suite (with view on the volcanos). The staff immediately upgraded our room with no additional cost whereas booking didn’t even reply to my customer’s service message!! Really unprofessional compared to the hotel’s manager.

The food was pricey for the quality.

The only breakfast I had at the Hotel (because I left early in the mornings) was the Sunday brunch, which was delicious. There were many options, and I tried several delicious traditional dishes. There was also a bounty of fresh and sweet seasonal fruit. And the coffee! Everyone working at the hotel was warm and friendly. It was clear that there is great pride in caring for such a beautiful place.

The rooms, though beautifully decorated and super clean were not as comfortable as I would have liked. Specifically, there was not a comfortable table and chair with which to work or read.

The breakfast is very good, served in a beautiful area around the pool. The garden is wonderful, located in front of the lake. In a general way, the hotel is wonderful and the staff is very gentle.

Despite of the good breakfast, it's not included in the hotel's price. This makes no sense, considering the excelence of the place and its cost.

The property is stunning with amazing views and a spectacular garden. They have an impressive amount of plants and flowers, as well as exotic birds. The service is top notch and the heated pool and jacuzzi are definitely a plus. You can also easily call a water taxi or take tours of the lake towns directly from their own dock.

The bathroom had mold stains all over the ceiling and the door, which took away from the luxurious feel of the room and the hotel. Otherwise it was clean, but I do think the bathrooms overall need some attention to detail for that class of hotel. I did inform the front desk and they offered to move me to another room, which we declined because we had just unpacked a ton of things and it would have been inconvenient.
