I have visited Kolkata many times and usually stay near Sudder street, but wanted to try somewhere different. The Red Arrow was a lovely find. Tucked away, neat and clean with a good breakfast and friendly staff. As most people have said in the reviews it’s difficult to find with poor signage. It’s very close to Rabindra Sadan metro station which makes access to other parts of Kolkata much easier. It’s reasonably close to restaurants and there is a Natures Basket close by. Thanks Red Arrow for a lovely stay

Location and difficult to find without help

Given how close the hotel is to the sites, the transport network and the general hustle and bustle of a major city, it was quite the haven. My room overlooked a wooden area and was as serene as could be. The breakfast is also varied with the Indian option changing daily. This sort of thing makes all the difference if you're staying for longer than a night or two. I very much appreciated them making me an earlier-than-usual breakfast before a flight when many hotels wouldn't bother.

Not much to fault, really.

The owners were so nice. It is a family run business. The hotel room was so cozy, quiet, and beds were very comfortable. The room was so clean and the Indian breakfast was good too! When you get to the property, walk down the driveway to the second white building. Talk with the security guard and he’ll help you on the old-school elevator to the 5th floor! This is where the hotel is. I’d recommend this place to anyone! Really thankful we found this place. Cozy, safe, and clean!! What more could you want?

I booked a room with a view I was put in a box room with just one little window. I went down to see the receptionist and she said it was Booking.coms fault as there were no rooms with a view. I had arrived late so I didn't argue. The next morning I was talking to some Germans at breakfast and they said what great rooms they had with big windows etc. I spoke to one of the people there and got the room I had booked originally. So beware if you book a room with a view. After being moved I could not fault the hotel. This is the reason I am not giving it 10 stars makes me wonder how many times the receptionist does this.

Location excellent....right next to the Metro Station....almost all tourist related places nearby....taxis available in plenty and they do not charge exorbitant rates....we had a dinner in- house on the first day of arrival and it was excellent....Breakfast, included in the package, was well done and the caretaker excelled in his work....quite an efficient person, I should say .On the whole, a well spent four days & nights at your place. My wife too agrees and sends her regards.....

The entrance is a little baffling and we could not locate your Hotel, in the first instance....even our Uber driver found it tough to come and pick us up, for the return journey to the airport. That could be looked into....that is all.....

I liked the creative and asthetic way they had done up both the 2 n 4th floor. It was hygenic, comfortable n very good location for us who wished to be in the center of town. There is a care taker on every floor who looks after any specific needs one may have.

The entrance to the building was a little daunting as there is no specific entrance and one has to go thru the ground floor car park to enter a depleted building giving rise to doubts on selection. But once on the 4 th floor where the reception is one enters a truly lovely property which has been put together with a lot of thought and care,

One of the best hotels I've stayed in in India: small, has a local feel, yet very comfortable and pleasant. Location is very central, but the building is inside a residential complex, away from a very busy street. I was safe, even when returning late at night; our group felt welcomed and cared for. Good breakfasts and the food in the evening is homemade and tasty. Very grateful to the managers and the staff!

There are some night clubs and wedding locations nearby, it can become loud at night. Apart from this, no complaints, all was perfect.

1. Excellent staff, easygoing even for payment modes2. Central location of the property, 3. Good breakfast, 4. Well maintained amenities, 5. Quiet room and lobby, 6. Preferred by international tourists and 7. Safe environment - the staff even let store our luggage for some days after we checked out!

Would be great to have: 1. Different options/variations in breakfast (e.g. continental and Indian), and 2. Being fair with the staff's focus on providing good accommodation services and guests' privacy, Local expertise sharing (for exploring Kolkata/surroundings and travel agent contacts) would be a bonus!

The location was great as the Park St. was 2 kms away. We preferred to walk and taxis in bad weather. The pleace was a bit difficult to find at first as it is located at the back side of an apartment complex but once you learn it you appreciate it as you are far from the noise of the main street. The place is also very close to a metro station if you are planning to use it. There are many eateries and other food stores on the street. The staff were great. They served wonderful breakfast and fruit juice each day. They also let us use their refrigerator to keep our drinks and fruits cold. One of our rooms was facing a line of buildings dating from 1920s and there were flying foxes right next to our balcony. It was an eerie but interesting sight to see as we watched these bats fly around when the sun was setting. The common place, with sofas and a large dining table was very great to use during the day as we needed to do some work with computers. Rooms also had desks but the spacious common space was a relief.

The elevator was very old, small, smelly and kind of dangerous as you needed to be very careful closing the metal fence manually. We heard rats running along the roofs outside but did not see any. Do not leave anything on the balcony as it may invite rats or huge bats. There are not many historic places within walking distance but tuktuks and taxies are many and can take you to Birla Mandir or Park St. for cheap. You can walk but I do not recommend using Google Maps navigation.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Red Arrow Residency in Kolkata for two days. I was traveling for work and needed a place to stay that was both affordable and comfortable. Red Arrow Residency definitely fit the bill. The residency is located in a quiet residential area, just a short walk from the metro station. The apartment itself is spacious and well-furnished, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was clean and modern, and the bed was very comfortable. The best part about Red Arrow Residency was the staff. Uttam, the caretaker, was incredibly helpful and friendly. He went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed, and he was always willing to answer my questions. The breakfast at Red Arrow Residency was also excellent. Overall, I had a wonderful stay at Red Arrow Residency. It is an excellent choice for travelers who are looking for an affordable and comfortable place to stay in Kolkata.

Considering i was there for work and not fun , there was nothing that RAR needed to do differently .
