The location was amazing.Peaceful and quiet with a lovely view of the mountains. Everything was very clean. The rooms were one of the best I have seen. Very tastefully decorated and has all amenities needed.The staff was very friendly and kind.The food was made fresh and also quite tasty.

The Amara Ayurveda Retreat is a small but beautiful place hidden away in the mountains but only a short drive from Kovalam Beach. The resort is beautifully kept and the staff have been welcoming and extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was exceptional with the chef cooking eggs and other treats to order. The food for lunch/dinner was super tasty - a great selection and great value for money. The saltwater pool was refreshing and because of the size of the resort, it was never crowded. We also made use of the ayurveda treatment options, which we'd highly recommend. Great value for money and very relaxing. We could've easily spent all day there without ever leaving.

The place is very hidden away and the roads up to it quite bumpy and a bit dodgy looking. Some of our taxi drivers were a bit confused on where to go but managed to find it after all. A new building is currently under construction to accommodate more guests in the future. While there was some construction noise, it wasn't disruptive at all.

The place is clean, the rooms are spacious, the surroundings are nice even if not close to the beach.

The breakfast could have been better The full body massage should include steam

Beautiful setting in the starry hillside surrounded by fruit trees overlooking the Western Ghats. I was greeted on the first day by a wild monkey happily munching away in a tamarind tree. Delightful. Very helpful and considerate staff. Overall excellent dining. The Yoga and Ayurveda facilities were busy with a yoga retreat group during my stay but it was still a peaceful and relaxing visit and the dining offered some of the best Ayurvedic food that I've found thus far in Kerala. Hope to stay longer next time and perhaps bring a yoga retreat group here too!

Beautiful setting & gardens. Restaurant food was really good but breakfast could have been better. Manu & Anthony at the front desk were really helpful. Comfortable beds.

Worst & most miserable check in not friendly or welcoming which was very unusual for India. No fridge in the room. Staff were either really good or miserable. Lacking attention to detail in some areas. Access road.

The decision to give 10 points has never been easier. We found this place to be the ideal home base for exploring Kovalam and Trivandrum. And here is why: 1. It is situated close, but not too close to the city and within a short tuctuc ride from the beach. 2. The property is beautiful and the rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped. 3. The entire staff (front desk, housekeeping, security guard, restaurant staff, as well as the drivers, ayur veda specialist and yoga teacher they work with) is extremely friendly and helpful. They really made us feel at home. 4. The food… is just something else. We can’t wait to come back simply because we weren’t able to sample the entire menu! Everything we had was delicious and fresh. Many of the fruit and veg are grown right on the property. We had never been to Kerala - or indeed India - before. We will definitely be back because we fell in love with the area and the food and the people. This is in large part thanks to the Amara experience. ❤️

It gives an earthy vibe upon entering the report and the same is maintained in the room as well. We got a few ayurvedic spa treatments done as well and it was really good.

Information sharing about the spa treatments were not up to the mark. We had checked about prerequisites a couple of days back but their revert was once you come to the center you can check and upon reaching there, they said such treatments require pre work on their end so can't be done now

Excellent staff and very friendly service. We stayed in a room where we had a fabulous scenic view. Pool area was very calming. It was great to have a spa on-site as well. Very relaxing place if you don’t want to live in the center of noise and massive tourist areas. Loved it!

Everything was very sorted. Pure natural feels. Greenery everywhere. Has a ayurvedic massage treatment centre within the facility itself. Rooms were great.

Restaurant staff were always in a hurry to close. The last ordering time was 9:30pm, but they always call at 7:30-8 for order and even after we requested to prepare the food at 9, they prepare it within 15mins and starts calling saying that food is hot now and will get cold. This was very frustrating for me.

its a splendid location, overlooking trivandrum hills.Beautiful view. Beautiful spacious bedrooms on first floor of the houses. the architecture and designs are made of local bricks and very nicely put together , in a traditional yet contemporary way. Great yoga teacher and good ayurvedic treatments.

A bit noisy at times due to surroundings . Sometimes if you do specific ayurvedic treatments for special problems, not enough following advices massages not fantastic, depending of the masseur
