The staff was very friendly... Cooperative & caring. I stayed with a special needs kid on the wheel chair. The staff (especially the valet) were kind enough to wait & take care of car with a smile..! I did take out my care many times but they didn't hesitate to bring my car that many times. Also special thanks to front office staff (sorry to forget her name) who made sure we got a spacious room so we can easily move the wheel chair. This ensured us the comfort. Will be thanking her personally during my next visit.!!

Not to highlight...but during booking if the futon bed was additionally requested, this can be made available in advance..!! I had to remind them thrice to get this.

The best thing about your hotel is the staff members right from the main entrance the way they greet with Namaste with smile and assisting at every step, also at Front desk Kankshita was very humble and attentive assisting me with all the check in procedures also a person who escorted me to the room was very kind and humble even the staff at the restaurant were very nice and smiling the energy i felt from them was like all of them here are working with good emotions and passion. Keep up the good work and keep spreading the happiness. Thanks a lot for making my stay so memorable and happy.

Location and front desk staff

Well...minor issue though. There was only one small peg bottle of Blenders Pride kept along with cookies. After I checked out one person called me asking if I had any booze from Minibar...I told her there was only one bottle though she said there were two. I don't drink anything less than Single Malt and I had my own bottle brought from Goa. They should check before and immediately after I check out...not when I am on the road halfway home.

I recently stayed at this hotel with my parents and was thoroughly impressed. The location is absolutely perfect. From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcome. Every staff member, from the gate attendants to the receptionists, went out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their warm hospitality made a significant difference, and I truly appreciated their attentiveness. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a convenient and welcoming place to stay.

Royal Orchid Shimoga is a hotel that I opt for each time I visit Shimoga. The hotel staff is courteous, and pleasant and offers timely service. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. As this is right at the Shimoga city centre don't expect any views from the room that is probably only negative to point, otherwise, a good option to choose when you visit Shimoga.

Hotel frontage is cramped.

Everything was good- location, parking facilities, staff behaviour, cleanliness and breakfast was really good with crispy vada. I liked the concept of No plastics. Water was given in glass bottles, no plastic garbage bag etc. They should publicize they are a plastic free hotel or minimum usage of plastic.

Restaurant staff is awesome, On weekend the best part is there is good singer who performs live.

Travel arrangement options, I did not hear any thing of that sort, it would be good, if hotel provides a service and puts a transparent invoice per kilometer . Since there were no such provisions, outside taxi services are horrible in shivmogga, where they charge 300 km even if we do not use 300 km.

Repeated bell ringing by housekeeping, once when I check and one at 10am in the morning, repeated relentless knocking, was in bath, then rushed and ask the lady why she knocked, she simply said it is their rules, crazy. Second thing hotel is Karnataka doesn't serve South Indian food, and each time I had issues next day, some thing is wrong with the food served.

One of the rooms smelt of cigarettes and the staff gave us a different room on request. Breakfast buffet options were a great selection of different cuisines. The restaurant manager provided good coffee to us on request which was good service. The staff gave us a complimentary food parcel at check out when we mentioned one of the rooms was not cleaned properly. Car parking was provided and accommodation for the driver was also comfortable.

The coffee available was instant coffee. Decoction filter coffee should be available - especially in a region which grows coffee. One of the rooms was not cleaned properly and there was dust behind the table. I paid Rs 5,500 in cash for a bill of Rs 5300 but the reception did not have 200 rupees change and there was a bit of waiting.

Room was very good for the money, cleanliness, size of the room and the hotel itself in general was very good. We had complimentary breakfast which was absolutely amazing. The restaurant manager (don't remember his name) was very good guy,. The restaurant was full as it was weekend but he was patient, listened to every query we had and even acted upon it. The bathroom at the restaurant was super clean. Also the location is perfect, right at the centre of the city.

The price of the food at the restaurant was super expensive. If you have opted for complimentary while booking the room only then eat there otherwise it's best to eat outside and there are plenty of good restaurants near by.
