The rooms are cosy, and just sitting on the deck in front at night and enjoying the view of the illuminated pool and garden is just beautiful. It's private and peaceful, and out to the left, you walk 100 meters, and that point is perfect for sunsets 🥰 The staff is friendly, and breakfast is a treat

I have been here twice (2019 and 2023), and I can 100% say that there is nothing about this place I DONT like

The owners of this small resort and incredible gem on Gili Air are so friendly and clearly understand what makes a place special. From the moment we arrived we were welcome and cared for like family. The staff are truly exceptional and took such special care of my family and I. Room was comfortable and cool with great lighting and a brilliant bed. Super clean and with small touches that show the generosity and warmth of the family who own it. The food was absolutely delicious and was a highlight of our stay.

We stayed over Christmas and New Years and their was a bit more party action then we anticipated on the island… sometimes the music could be heard from the bars on the beach front but this wouldn’t detour me from booking again as Dolce Mare Resort is truly a one of a kind paradise and a wonderfully relaxing retreat we feel grateful to have had the pleasure to experience.

I loved my stay at the resort. It's a small boutique place with about five bungalows. The bungalows have a little patio which was nice. What really set it apart was the hospitality of the staff. They asked about my day every single day and directed me to a doctor when I was not feeling well. They also offered to make me aloe Vera juice for my sunburn. I had great chats with them and was looking forward to going 'home' every day. The Italian restaurant in the hotel is also nice. I loved the fresh fruits for breakfast. dolcemare is close to the beach path and there are some great beach bars within 4_5 min walking distance where you can watch the sunset.

Perfect stay in this small boutique hotel with so much love decorated. The details show such an unique taste that we haven’t found in any other hotel in Asia. Everything was so good, well maintained, clean. The staff was just amazing. The breakfast was outstanding with so many options (each one better than the previous one, we could not decide which one was the best), best coffee in the island. We stayed with our two kids (2 year and 10 months) and they just loved the place and the staff, always making us feel like at home. If some day we come back to Gili Air this will be, for sure, our choice.

The access road from the beach to the hotel is full of water each time it rains, maybe it would be the chance to contribute to improve it a little bit.

Ed was a little firm. Very common for Asia. This is very minor and would not hesitate to stay again.

The place is absolutely hidden gem on island where you wouldny expect it all..it is very private, comfortable and quiet with wonderfull staff meeting all european standards as owners are most lovely family that runs also restaurant on beach with the best italian pizza ( not indonesian type of italian:-)), breakfast has wide choice of local and fantastic italian food, all absolutely fresh! If you chose to stay for dinner this lovely small restaurant is a great chice for fine dinning having real fresh daily catch that owner himself does sustainably hunting as a freediver! That was impressing! His lovely wife is a manager and chef that takes care of most amazing food experience sou can imagine!Absolutely recommended in all ways!thank you so much for the experience🙏

Dolcemare is the perfect little Oasis away from the main Gili Air Beach strip. A lovely small complex that is maintained perfectly with staff who are extremely attentive. The rooms are well equipped, clean and have a beautiful verandah, complete with daybed, overlooking the pool. The breakfast were fresh and delicious with the best coffee on the island... Thanks Aji! Very sad we didn't get to try the restaurant in the evening as we were on the island for a wedding and there were other plans made. We did get to have lunch at Mama Pizza though which was spectacular! We will definitely stay again next time we are in Gili Air!

Beautiful hotel, only a few rooms but makes it feel really cosy and intimate. Each bungalow is very traditional and has its own patio which is lovely and the pool is great. The breakfast is exceptional. The standout for us was the attentiveness and kindness of the staff, they couldn’t do enough for us and where always on hand to help with any queries or assist us with hiring bicycles or arranging massages (the hotel has a massage hut near the pool which is a lovely experience, we got a lovely couples massage). Lots of nice sunset places and resteraunts within a 10 min walk of the hotel.

Hotel is located down a dirt track road off the main road which can get muddy when it rains, this isn’t the hotels fault but just something to bear in mind. Location is about 6 minutes in horse and cart from the harbour, again just bear this in mind (staff sorted out return journey no issues with that just getting there was a bit harder)

The staff were just amazing - always chatty, friendly and helpful. The accommodation was as described and very clean and comfortable. The free breakfast set us up for the day but the food was so good we also ate there for dinner most of the time. The fish was locally caught and the pasta homemade. A very short walk takes you to the western side of the island where there are loads of restaurants and cafes - a great spot to chill out on the beach and watch the awesome sunsets. Great pool too. We will definitely recommend "Dolcemare" to our family and friends.

It's a 15 min walk from the ferry and the road is very sandy in places so hard to pull a suitcase. No problem if you are travelling light or have a backpack. The alternative is a 150,000IDR ($15) pony and cart ride as there are no cars on the island. And hey, it's a bit expensive but a great photo opportunity.

Dolcemare Resort is probably one of the nicest resorts on Gilli Air. We were the exception to the rule - most people spend 3 nights on Gilli Air but we spent three weeks so we got to see a lot of hotels! We stayed in four different places. Dolcemare was probably our favourite, primarily for the staff (Surya and Aji in particular) and the amazing 27m pool - we both LOVE to swim so this was a highlight for us. The grounds around the pool were lovely - coconut trees, flowering plants and SHADE! The outdoor seating area outside our room was also very stylish. The breakfast was great - lovely breakfast area and great choice.

The beds weren't the most comfortable we've ever slept on. The bathrooms were internal rather than external (not as nice) and getting a hot shower was a bit difficult which seems outrageous for a hotel in this price range. There's a small boiler/cylinder on the side of the room and once that hot water is exhausted you're out of hot water...so we were never able to shower one after the other nor could we do any laundry and then shower (or vice versa). We stayed at a homestay for 1/4 of the price and had unlimited hot water so I think this system needs to be upgraded.
