Nevertheless, its location remains strategically close to the city’s economic and commercial hub. The hotel’s common areas are warm and inviting, resembling large living room spaces where you can host your friends and family. You can conveniently order refreshments from the bar/restaurant. In keeping with its theme, the hotel’s cuisine showcases local flavors, primarily Javanese, and it is truly delicious! In my opinion, this hotel boasts the best Indonesian food among all the five-star hotels in Jakarta. Another notable feature is the availability of both outdoor and indoor pools. The outdoor pool is beautifully nestled in a shady grove of trees, creating the illusion that you are in an oasis far from the city’s clamor. For anyone visiting or residing in South Jakarta and in need of accommodations, this hotel stands out as one of the coziest options. It will make you feel as though you are home away from home.

We had a difficult time controlling the thermostat which by default was set at a very cold temperature. We live in the northern hemisphere and are used to winters, so it was rather absurd that we felt the temperature was too cold in the room and we were in the tropics. I would suggest asking someone to show how to use the thermostat at the beginning of your stay.

The room is exceptional. Very very big, comfortable, clean, with unbeatable view of the Dharmawangsa's pool. The ambience is so good. The staff is always very nice and helpful. Don't forget to try cakes in their cake shop, I rated the cakes highly, 100% tasted amazing.

I had unpleasant experience with one of the Reception staffs who refused us to have our dinner in the room. Thankfully the manager was aware of this mistake. He approved our request and went to our room in person to apologize. Appreciate the effort.

My wife kindly booked us into The Dharmawangsa over Christmas to celebrate my birthday and relax for a few days whilst in Jakarta. The hotel is located in a quiet, tree lined residential area so you have the benefit of being away from the congestion of CBD traffic yet just a short drive away from malls like Senayan. On arrival, we were greeted courteously and taken to reception and immediately made to feel welcome and a valued guest. Our room was clean, spacious and quiet with a nice balcony overlooking a tropical tree lined garden area and swimming pool. We also liked the traditional and spacious furnishings and overall decor in the room making us feel comfortable and relaxed. The bathroom is generously sized including a bath tub and shower room along with a plentiful assortment of amenities. I really enjoyed using the varied and excellent leisure facilities at the hotel including the indoor swimming pool, jacuzzis and sauna. I also finished our brief stay with a rejuvenating deep-tissue massage which I would highly recommend. We started each day with a buffet breakfast at the hotel. There is an extensive selection of food available including delicious, traditional Indonesian dishes and other Asian and Western style cuisines. We really liked the wide selection of fresh fruits, juices and freshly baked breads and pastries along with various teas and freshly brewed aromatic arabica coffee. All in all, a perfect way to start the day assisted by warm, helpful and attentive staff. Would like to thanks to say special thanks to Irwan at the Reception; Riyan, Ahmadi, Arief, Affan and Lisa for providing a great experience at Breakfast - along with the delicious food, keeping me supplied with excellent arabica coffee and introducing me to the tasty and refreshing Jamu juice. I really appreciated the surprise birthday greeting and cake too; all the staff at the Spa & Wellness Centre.

It’s a little difficult to walk to local restaurants - very short walk, but side walks are bumpy and not developed in some parts.

Dharmawangsa offers care and hospitality tailored to your needs. It’s an exceptional place which I cannot recommend enough. From the gorgeous pool and its strategic location to delightful breakfast to its stunning bars and restaurants. Dharmawangsa is an institution that cherishes and proudly upholds Indonesian cultural heritage. Bpak Angga is much to be credited and always goes the extra mile (and much more!) to ensure my family and I have a restful and rejuvenating stay. Others to make our trip memorable include Bpak Basly and Ibu Dia. Michael and Arief Abdullah were similarly so kind to offer their help and attention.

Located about 15minutes away from the Jakarta city center where you can take a break from the pollution and breathe hard, this classy place is a 5-star hotel that is enough to spend a quiet and comfortable time. You can't expect convenience stores or attractions nearby, but their sophisticated manners and kindness, as well as their fresh and attractive breakfast, are enough to compensate for all that. What about the delicious food in the restaurant that is incomparable to other places. Lying on the comfortable bed in the bedroom where traditional and luxurious harmoniously blend, I am grateful for finding a gem to stay in when I come to Jakarta and I am happy to imagine coming back again. This is one of the greenest hotels I’ve ever seen in Jakarta. It feels like an oasis amidst the city’s hustle and bustle. I love how extensive the facilities are, with everything from an indoor pool and sauna to a tennis court and squash court. The staffs were incredibly helpful, they went above and beyond to make sure I had an enjoyable stay, including fulfilling my friends’ request to surprise me on my birthday (huge thanks to Pak Yudha, Syahlan, Haris, and Galih!). The spacious room was very comfy. Would definitely return!

When I had breakfast with my friends, I was told that the free breakfast was only for 2 - despite my already saying clearly from the start that we would pay for the extras. Not a huge problem, but the confusion could have been avoided had they paid attention to what I said.

I’ve been staying at this hotel for several years. This was the best experience I’ve had. Seems they have detailed the hotel and rooms and brought it back up to its original splendour. Breakfast was good now it’s great, Japanese restaurant is now really good, cigar bar across from the Japanese fantastic. Everyone in the hotel addresses me by name, it’s like running the gauntlet to get to the restaurant for breakfast so many staff wish me good morning. All in all a faultless experience and surprising affordable for what you get.

Friendly staff. Immaculate service. Very comfortable rooms with a lovely fluffy robes and delicious welcoming cakes. Pool area is sublime, tropical garden feel, multiple pools surrounded by tropical gardens. Spa and gym is first class - gym had all equipment, inside spa and pool overlooks the yard. Breakfast was amazing - so much variety from across Indonesia and other nationalities. Very nice to try meals from soy d Indo. Breakfast staff so helpful and friendly. Recommend staying here - it was our splurge before coming home and loved it.

The Lobby and the surroundings were beautiful, especially the outside garden and the pool area, like an oase in an Urban jungle. The rooms are spacious. And the breakfast especially the outside patio was very pleasant. We enjoyed it every morning.

The wardrobe was too small to put al the stuff from two travellers, there was no place to open two suitcases, and we had the usual 2x90L check-in luggage and 2x cabin suitcases. So nothing special.

Since it is a hotel that has been built for a long time ago, the number and location of wall power sources and the interior structure may be outdated. However, everything is kept very neat and clean. I don't think it's outdated or old. This hotel is the traditional and classic in so much wonderful way.
