Staff were amazing, location was on point, the traditional temple right next to the accommodation is an impressive work of Balinese architecture. For its value you get such an amazing place to stay before exploring ubud. It’s quiet and in the country side makes you feel like ur a part of the local community. Our expectations were blown away by how convenient the staff made our stay. Even the welcome drinks and breakfast sets were amazing. The view of the rice terraces as you wake up and sip your morning coffee is truly majestic.

Honestly the only downside are the bugs and gekkos but that’s a part of living in the country side by nature. My additional suggestion for the staff, please market more things such as the tour service, room service, and motorbike rentals on booking.com we didn’t expect these services and honestly it would attract more guests to stay at this already amazing place.

Santosha Place is absolutely beautiful, the rooms are airy and bright with large floor to ceiling windows looking out to an ample balcony. A shrine, looking out from the balcony is planted out with mature flowering trees and the gardens have ornamental ponds with Koi carp. Meals are taken directly to the room and served on the balcony; heaven! The staff are attentive and couldn't do enough for us, special thanks goes to Komang, Ketut and Ni Putu for really great service that made all the difference to our holiday. Santosha Place is located about an hours walk from Ubud, but don't be put off by the distance; there are walks that take you through stunning jungle and terraces of paddy fields that should not be missed!

If anything, a dressing mirror in the bedroom would be nice, but the rooms were as close to perfect as we could wish.

Amazing experience in Santosha Place. After 3 days in crazy bangkok this was what I needed. Peaceful place and not in the center of ubud. 5 minutes driving. If you want to be far away from the crowds or traffic in ubud and at the same time near the main touristic spots (north of ubud most of them) this is the place to be. They have moto renting in the place and all of the activies you ll want to do. Staff is amazing. 5 Star Place.

Just some tips: -fixing the sliding door its heavy - no kids place (the last morning woke up with the kids crying) -chairs from the balcony are too tall and not confy to sit well Just these small things

Santosha Place was a very well-run hotel. The rooms were directly inside of a temple which was pretty amazing. The food was first rate and not expensive. I loved the way the room's entry door and windows opened up to the temple, but they also allowed anyone walking buy to have a full view of our room (when the drapes weren't pulled shut). However we were on the first floor, so this is probably not an issue for rooms on upper floors. I visited the pool a few times, just to cool off from the heat and humidity. The owners were very nice and courteous to us at all times. They helped to prepare several excursions for us. Very nice considering the crowds of UBUD.

The hotel was a few KM. distant from UBUD, so we had to arrange taxis anytime we wanted to visit the town. There was also a lot of trash around the hotel and it would be great if the community could pull together to clean up the trash on a regular basis.

I loved everything! The location is super peaceful, 10 mins drive from the centre of Ubud, a 10 min walk to Pyramids of Chi, 15 minute walk to the Unified School of Healing that offers free classes all day and a relaxed Day Club with infinity pool and cafe overlooking the jungle opposite, which was everything I came here to experience! The staff were so kind and helpful. The room was modern, spacious and well equipped with lots of traditional touches to the interior design, cleaned every day and 2 fresh bottles of water provided. Great little pool with sun loungers. Excellent value for money. I would have extended my 3 night stay had they not been fully booked!

The room looked really nice, exactly as on the pictures. I loved that it was really light, as one of the walls was a glass wall and it also had a big window. The staff was also really nice. There is a really good restaurant just opposite the hotel, it's a little expensive, but you have to try it at least one. There is also another cheaper restaurant abount 200 m away. I read in other reviews that the roosters are really loud, but we didn't really hear them. We could sleep very well, it was quiet and calm. And you get earplugs in the room too.

A fridge in the room would have been nice. And maybe a water dispenser because we had to buy a lot of water in plastic bottles. (You can buy water easily, there is a little shop right opposite of the place. But bad for the environment to use so much plastic)

The serene and tranquil environment, coupled with comfortable beds, beautiful decor, and exceptional cleanliness, made our stay relaxing. The welcoming staff and owners added extra charm to our stay. They made sure that they were available to cater any needs at any time of the day and night. And of course, waking up to a great breakfast to start the day was delightful. This place is truly a gem and highly recommended for anyone seeking a slice of heaven in Ubud. We will definitely be staying at Santosha Place on our next trip to Bali.

Everything was perfect during our stay

Nice and quiet hotel in a small local village far from hustle and bustle of Ubud centre, but still a short 10-15 min scooter ride away. Breakfast was included, portions are big, though unfortunately didn't offer vegetarian substitutes. Rooms have traditional wooden Balinese decor, bed was comfortable, staff was lovely! Lots of rice field walks going from the hotel to Ubud centre - was definitely a highlight.

Small things only. Pool area was average. Balcony has a big table and chairs, I was hoping to work from there, but looks like all/most rooms are on the sunny side and it was already really hot there starting from 7-8am. Chicken farm is right next door, roosters start going off at 5am for at least an hour. Hotel provides ear plugs, and it was actually nice to wake up early.

clean rooms, friendly staff, WhatsApp messages to confirm room cleaning time for privacy and convenience. prices for room service meals were good (50-60k idr per meal), fresh water bottles every day. local shops close by for snacks and drinks, a few other restaurants also within 10-15 minute walk. Staff were accommodating for leaving luggage after checkout time. very quiet and secluded. they also have a pool which is nice.

bed was a bit creaky, check the registration if renting scooters from them - a lot of hotels offer this service but both of the scooters offered to us were out of registration. They were able to source another for us though within 15 minutes or so. Location is beautiful and really quiet, would definitely recommend a scooter to get around - it's about an hour walk to Ubud centre or an hour north to rice fields etc.

We loved our stay here - it's a little out of Ubud centre, to the north, which we loved as it meant it was quite and peaceful but still easy to get around! The room was clean and very comfortable, of course a few little bugs but this is Ubud! We had a tasty breakfast on the balcony every day which felt like a treat. My partner used the pool and enjoyed it - it is a little shaded/small area. Ketut was so helpful, he did everything - checkin, breakfast & cleaning! I definitely recommend for a few night stay.
