The property is so quiet and serene, with beautiful views of Cortona. The staff is phenomenal and helpful in planning and booking any activities you want to do or places you want to visit. However, make sure you plan many days before you arrive. The breakfast each morning was plentiful and full of variety! We also enjoyed paid dinners and every meal was delicious!! The property is easily accessible by car, which can be rented in Florence or Arezzo (we took a train to Arezzo Station and rented a car from Avis, which is right across the street from the station). Everything was great! It is also possible to arrange pickup with the Villa from Arezzo (again, book many days ahead of your arrival) if you don’t want to rent a car. However, it is highly recommended.

Nothing, our stay was great!

This is an exceptionally beautiful villa with exquisite views of the aria (Tuscany)- a historic building, yet one doesn't miss anything for a comfortable vacation. Very friendly and accommodating staff, many members of which speak more than two foreign languages. Meals they serve, are based entirely on the local produce and are super delicious, wines are personally picked from Alen, the Manager, who is an expert in wine history, produce and selection. The breakfasts are truly amazing with freshly baked selection of cakes and biscuits (6-7varieties every morning), assortment of cheeses, hams and prosciutto and surely - their espresso is absolutely fantastic!!!

Maybe a pair of slippers and bathrobes would be just a good addition to the comfort of the rooms.

Hotel's architecture fits perfectly into Tuscany area. Stone and wood is what you get here. Very nice impression. Rooms are comfortable, average in size and very clean (daily cleaning service). A/C works great. Surrounding is very quiet (except for cicadas). View is very nice for a panorama of Tuscan fields of sunflowers, olives and vineyards. Breakfasts are very tasty with great variety of food including Italian hams and cheese. Coffee is truly perfect as you should expect in Italy. Swimming pool is a nice addition with enough sunbeds available. Hotel serves drinks and lunch at your request. All the staff are very helpful and chatty, especially the manager. Greets also to Ewa who speaks Polish. Safe parking is available. You can get to beautiful old-city centre of Cortona in 10 minutes by car. We will be happy to visit this place again.

There were some minor issues with electricity. Lights were occasionally blinking, especially in the bathrooms. They're partially fixed during our stay.

The road to the hotel is sideways and narrow, the signage is clear and allows continuous access to the hotel, which is revealed around the corner, a very nicely renovated and maintained building, the furniture is adapted to the nature of the hotel and the place, we got a room for three adults and a dog, the ascent to the room via a unique elevator with its slowness, the room is spacious, equipped, comfortable and clean, the view through the windows is amazing It was beautiful, the staff was inviting and helpful, the breakfast was fresh, varied and delicious, at the back exit you go out to a square with a large pool that overlooks the view and complements it without a doubt, a place to return to

Most importantly, everyone who worked there was lovely. They thought about everything and were very attentive. The food at dinner was lovely (try the ragu or pistacchio tortellini- to die for) with a spectacular breakfast selection. The Villa is situatd looking over the plains of Tuscany - the view is spectacular and you see it from the eating terrace and the pool. The swimming pool is just gorgeous and, when the sun becomes too much, there is a lovely dappled shade courtyard where we spent time sipping aperols and reading. I had to be taken to hospital when there and the owner was brilliant in supporting us durng and after my time in hospital.

It did not trouble us at all, but the rooms, though large, are quite dated. I guess this is why the stay represented such good value. The trade off worked very well for us. Everything else there was wonderful

Beautiful, quiet setting with lovely views. The staff were highly attentive and friendly. We loved the quirky, original decor and homely ambience. There are plenty of different areas to chill out and relax in. The swimming pool is amazing with top-quality sun-loungers, umbrellas, side tables and chairs. There is also a Jacuzzi. Our dual-aspect bedroom, with good quality air-conditioning, was wonderful with nice views of the countryside and pool. The breakfast is phenomenal, and was included in the price. (They were particularly good at catering for gluten-free). We liked the hassle-free 'tab' system where drinks and food purchases are paid for at the end of your stay. This was clearly itemised and printed off for us to see. The roof-top restaurant provided top-quality food priced at the local-rate. (The price of a meal there was comparable to that of a good restaurant in near-by Cortona.) We will definitely be returning to Villa Schiatti in the future, and would highly recommend it.

The staff were wonderful. They were so helpful and friendly. The food, both breakfast and the evening meal were exceptional. Though they don't always provide it, the staff made us lunch on two occasions which was lovely. The hotel is spotless and just idyllic and historic .The views were breathtaking. The most wonderful hotel experience. I can't speak highly enough of the hotel and especially the staff. Staff even took us to the railway station so we could go to Arezzo and picked us up. Though I paid the person, they knocked it off the bill total at the end. We will come back.

You are a bit secluded so a car is advisable

This is a surprising gem of a hotel! We actually had rubbish wet weather when we stayed which was a shame as the pool area and the rooftop terrace would have been fabulous on a sunny day. Everything about this hotel delighted us. The staff were all friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were excellent - the best we had all holiday. Because of the downpours we opted to dine in the restaurant on two of our nights and the food was first class and terrific value. Our room was small but had a lovely view over both the pool and the surrounding countryside and there's a pretty courtyard for evening drinks. There are also nice walks along the quiet lanes around the hotel. Highly recommended.

Parking in Cortona is a nightmare and you have to drive from the villa as it's too far to walk.

Excellent selection for breakfast, for all cultural diets. I appreciated the on site coffee/cocktail bar with treats for the kids too. The light lunch options were delicious. Federica was very attentive to our questions/requests before arriving to villa, as well as during our stay.

The light lunch options were delicious, but I would recommend offerings for a child’s palate too. With that, there’s the rule that guests cannot consume their own food and drink outside of their room. Also it is advertised that transfer service available. We received assistance with a third party driver, but a 10 min ride was $50, which seems extremely unreasonable, but we didn’t have alternative options.

The staff were very friendly and incredibly welcoming. The pictures on Booking.com massively undersell this place - it was gorgeous with very clean rooms, a stunning location and fantastic facilities. The food was superb and the terrace was the jewel of the crown with the most amazing views out over the Tuscan hills. Highly recommend

The bed was a little hard for our liking so not totally comfortable, and the menu was a little limited, but we always found something that we liked.
