There was no breakfast at Casa d'Aria. The top local breakfast recommendation was not open on Saturday morning- that was strange.

The Casa d'Aria apartment was very nice and we enjoyed our trip until the very end. Given that the elevator is so unique, I would recommend that you provide more detailed and clear instructions to your guests about how to use it, and what they should do if they get stuck in it. It would also be important to have a number people can call to reach someone in your business during an emergency. There were no Casa d'Aria staff on site the whole time we were there. All of our communication was by phone or texting on What's App. One other thing to note, Casa d'Aria uses a heavily fragranced room freshener. It was too much fragrance. There are doors that can open that let in fresh air. The fragrance was terrible and too much and it would be easy to get rid of this.

Location of this property is perfect, so central and right next to First restaurant which serves food till midnight. We were able to get a bowl of pasta at 11pm after our plane arrived late. We were at most a 15 minute walk from anywhere in central catania and the bus to the airport is a 5 minute walk away. There are a few gated parking options about a 5 minute walk away if you’re nervous about leaving you rented car on the street (be careful of the ZTL zones where non-residents are not allowed to enter, this accommodation is not within this zone but is nearby) The room also had a great view and street noise wasn’t an issue despite the central location. I can’t overstate how tastefully decorated everything is, it’s very tranquil and the shutters kept the morning light out so our sleep was great. The kitchen had loads of kitchenware so we were able to make dinner and breakfast. They also have a balcony bar which was very cosy, it felt like a calm oasis to come back to. The bar only takes cash but serves a range of drinks in the evenings, it’s communal so you can meet some lovely people. They were very accommodating with us leaving our bags there etc. I would definitely stay again.

The shower had a leak but they were very proactive in trying to solve the issue, they’re available via text/whatsapp most times of day so communicated very well. The shower pressure is also not great.

This unique self-catering accommodation in Catania's historic centre is a testament to the resilience and creativity of the San Berillo district. After the Valdinoto earthquake of 1693, the district was rebuilt into an open-air museum adorned with local artists' street art masterpieces. Daria, the owner, architect, and interior designer, gave us a personalized tour of Casa D'aria, which has been curated with passion and attention to detail. Every corner of the accommodation tells a story, reflecting the region's rich cultural heritage. The self-catering aspect adds an extra layer of convenience. We can't wait to return.

The only hiccup we encountered was the unexpected and extremely loud New Year's Eve celebration taking place right next door. While we fully understand the joyous spirit of the occasion, the noise level did make it a bit challenging to fully enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. However, this was a situational and time-specific occurrence.

This beautiful apartment, situated just minutes away from all the key attractions in Catania, was an ideal place for a few days. Stylish and sophisticated, the ground floor living area offers a small kitchenette, a wet room (walk in shower), a comfortable sofa and a Tv, while the superb bedroom is situated on a mezzanine. There is also a gorgeous shared chill out space available down the corridor, and a nice rooftop terrace.

The steep stairs leading up to the bedroom and the terrace may not be ideal for people with limited mobility (although we didn’t mind it!). This is an old building so some of the creative adaptations are to be expected.

Excellent location for a city vacation. The property was functional and clean.

In our case, as we stayed a week there could have been more than one roll of toilet paper. Also the kitchen had a bunch of equipment like a sandwich maker for hot sandwiches, but no cutting board and no strainer. Talked to the manager as we left and he said we should have said something during our stay, but we primarily used the kitchen in the evenings and the reception were not staffed at that time and in the mornings it wasn't important I guess.

Absolutely amazing place: stunningly beautiful, great facilities, incredible rooftop terrace, perfect location and Daria couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful. The room was nice and spacious with two floors, the bed being up on a spacious mezzanine, with a small kitchen and living room downstairs (and private bathroom with a good shower). Our room also had a small balcony. Daria also provided loads of really useful tips (via handy links) for where to eat, drink, shop or do plan activities nearby and was even able to help us out last minute with a tour up mount Etna the following morning when our previous plans didn't work out. All very well organised and easy to check in and find your way around. We couldn't recommend this more.

Everything was perfect, but if you weren't a fan of (pet) cats you might not enjoy the terrace as much as we did...

Room looks exactly like the pictures. The rooftop was a nice place to get a drink at the end of our night and the rest of the hotel was very nice and peaceful. The host was also very helpful and available until midday. We felt very safe in this busy city, mainly because of the front doors and our room doors that were locked for anyone who did not have a key and/or code.

Fantastic location, quirky room conversations. The lift up to the guest house is very helpful. Reasonable range of facilities in the room. Good WIFI.

It was very quiet when we were there and we didn't have breakfast. If we hadn't checked in very early we wouldn't have seen any staff at all. Fine for us but might be disconcerting for others. Steps upto the breakfast balcony and sleeping platform in our room very steep.

Daria was a lovely host and did fantastic work on the property with her background in architecture. You could tell that she put a lot of love into it with all of the details down to the paint she used on the walls that she created herself. The lofted bed was a perfect solution with the tall ceilings, and every view was picture-perfect. The terrace was also available to us and had some friendly cats as company. Would definitely come back here again!

The floors in the loft are a bit squeaky so make sure you light sleepers bring some earplugs.

Check was done smoothly without meeting anyone, which is interesting. The place has a lot of charm, and there also a common area with a handy self-service bar. The bed was comfortable. Location is top.

Lack of a chilling area in the room: the two sofas are stylish, but uncomfortable.
