Breakfast was self service in a a large dining area linked to a terrace surrounding the pool. An extensive range of foods from sweat to savoury. Coffee was made to order which was excellent. Various newspapers were readily available and for those still partying from the previous evening or celebrating a birthday the Francha Corta was freely available at breakfast. The bedrooms were large clean and well serviced with seating and coffee table. The rooms were serviced by two modern lifts. The swimming pool was well maintained as were the communal gardens. There was also a very enjoyable bar/lounge area again looking onto the pool. Clearly the staff at this hotel are its stars for how they keep the hotel and interact with the guests.

There was nothing that I did not like. However, I felt that during the season the breakfast dining area could have become a quality restaurant.

Everything & everyone! Amazing staff who made my big birthday celebration with family truly memorable. Special thanks to Mario for ordering flowers & to Giovani for keeping the secret of the unexpected guest from Canada. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean & comfortable, quiet with a view over the pool. We were given sparkling wine to have with my birthday cake. Excellent location with an easy walk to the lakeside & ferry terminal. Plenty of Excellent bars & restaurants close by. We all loved the hotel, can highly recommend. Breakfast was exceptional, variety of fruit, cereal, cold cuts, cheese, cooked items, cake, juices, sparkling wine.

The only sad thing was having to leave.

Breakfast was amazing. The location was in the middle of the city, and in walking distance to the center. Parking, check-in and check-out were a breeze. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Bathroom was good, with shower having good pressure and water temperature. I would stay again. The staff welcomed us with open arms and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We asked for assistance for the ferry to other villages, and the train, and they went out of their way to assist. It was a great experience.

It would have been nice for the pool to be heated. We came during the colder months, and it was impossible to swim. However, this didn't detract from the overall experience.

Lovely clean room and a good size (Jnr Suite) All staff were friendly and helpful but specific mention to the gentleman on Reception who sourced us a pair of flip flops (that we needed to access the Thermal Spa in Sirmione!) Good location, just 2 mins from a supermarket and 5 mins to the main area/ferry port in Desenzano. Train station 15 mins walk. Lots of restaurant choices nearby. Good breakfast choices Nice relaxed feel in the hotel

The road out the front could be a little noisy (although very quiet with balcony doors closed) Found the bed a little too firm for us, but that's a personal choice of course.

The breakfast was tremendous, great choice, hot and cold, waiter service, large patio doors to eat on the patio by the pool. We were fortunate to have a junior suite, a great room over looking the front of the hotel with some views of the surrounding mountains. A large balcony and superb features. We asked for a kettle for the room and this was provided FOC, there is a mini bar with a price list and the bed was very comfortable as was the aircon. We had plenty of wardrobe and storage space. We were located very close to the town centre and the sea front, a small 5 to 7 minute walk to the main shopping precincts, restaurants and sea from for the boat terminal to visit all of the Lake Garda towns. I stayed with my wife and my two sister-in-laws and husbands, so 6 of us, they had superior rooms, both pool views and one, due to mobility, had a ground floor, pool view room, all said, they wanted to stay and not go home. We all really enjoyed our stay, we have no complaints to make about anything, we even enjoyed some great advise about where to eat - Linus near by is a great place to eat, 2 minutes on the right once out of the hotel.

What can I say the hotel was amazing, perfect location, staff AMAZING!! we stayed here for our wedding week in Lake Garda with a group of 12 friends and family. 😍 The staff were attentive, polite and went above and beyond to make us feel special. Very comfortable room with lovely bathroom and good air conditioning. The lounge, breakfast room and pool area were beautifully kept. Cleaning and room maintenance were super. We were given a noisy room (traffic) on arrival and were accommodated next day without question. We thought the star rating was more deserving of 4 stars instead of 3.

A welcome drink would have been a pleasant addition. Breakfast lacked variety and there were occasional shortages. Reception staff were efficient but could be abrupt.

Fantastic little hotel, only a very short walk to the centre of the town. Well presented interior and rooms, the family room that we had was very spacious. Loved the breakfast in a morning, sitting out on the veranda overlooking the pool. The pool area itself was spotlessly clean, and there was more than enough sun beds for everyone. Free parking was a bonus. As for Desenzano, what a delightful place, very beautiful and with loads of restaurants, bars and shops. And all excellent value... we expected high prices, but all the meals and drinks were cheaper than you would expect to pay in the UK. Would highly recommend the sunset boat tour around Sirmione. Finally, the hotel staff were all extremely friendly.

We stayed at Hotel Nazionale in January and it turned out to be unforgettable. We have never been greeted so warmly and caringly in any hotel. Got a free room upgrade and a bottle of prosecco for my birthday. Kudos to the staff for their help with all questions and requests. The room itself was very cozy, bright and warm. Cleaning was done every day and was perfect. There were no problems with hot water, the shower was good. The location is ideal - near the embankment, the old town, cafes and restaurants, a small store, a public transport stop and a ferry. The birthday was perfect and we will definitely be back. Thank Hotel Nazionale for the nice stay!

Perhaps the only small drawback was the lack of a kettle in the room. It would be great in winter to have coffee or tea in the room or on the balcony after a walk. However, this didn't in any way affect the impression of the hotel and its staff.

Amazing hotel. Perfect location - 12 min walk to train station and 5 min walk to the ferry/front of Desenzano. The staff were all very helpful and spent lots of time helping us plan our trips around the Lake/Verona. Free parking and free bike hire are included. The rooms, hotel and pool are all pristine. Great value for money. We only checked out today and are planning when we can return.
