After traveling thru Italy for 3 weeks, we needed a few days to just relax and La Lira was definitely the place. By far the cleanest place, mordern as well. We were 7 of us, and booked 3 rooms. Each room was spacious and had its own balcony with some great views. The owner Valerio was awesome, accomodating and polite, his cousin Alessandro (Ibra look a like) was so welcoming and gave us a detailed mapped view of the city and places to eat. This family owned bed n breakfast is one of the best places I have stayed at in all my travels.

I loved everything about this place...

La Lira was perfect for my one night stopover. A short taxi ride or shuttle from the airport. It was well run, clean, simple, everything worked. The communication beforehand was really prompt and helpful. The wonderful lady running La Lira (I’m afraid I did not ask her name) was very polite, professional and helpful. She spoke excellent English - for which thanks - and arranged a taxi first thing in the morning at a moment’s notice. The immediate area has a selection of good value restaurants a short walk away. I would book again without hesitation.

Nothing. It rained very hard the time I was there, that’s it.

We missed our flight due to the connection being late. We scrambled at the airport to find a place for the night and my wife found this small hotel. This hotel is modern and new in every way - the look, the feel, the décor. The owner and staff were friendly and informative. It is in a good location, within walking distance to many restaurants. It has great security as you have 4 locked doors to get in from the street. Breakfast is continental with coffee, sweets, etc. We took a taxi there which was $30E, but as we found out later, they have shuttles to and from the airport for $8E pp at specific times. If you get stuck at the airport or just want a quiet place to stay for the night, I recommend this hotel.

The room/bathroom was very nice, modern, clean. Loved the receptionist/assistant (she was excellent—thoughtful) The lady who cleaned went out of her way to make our room available earlier than we should have arrived . The owner was accommodating especially since we arrived too early.

Since check-in is at 4:00pm -our cruise ship docked in the morning, our arrival at noon was awkward for everyone. My step-sister has mobility problems so we could not head out & just walk until we rested. Location great for people who can walk & enjoy the area—great restaurants but at least a couple of blocks away. Need to walk to get to restaurants. It is close to the airport which is a positive. Quite a distance from the Rome sites. I would highly recommend this B&B for people who are active and do not want to sight see near the Vatican, etc. maybe did it earlier & ready to go home. Loved the staff!

All the personal I met were really friendly and helpful. The room was really clean, the bed was quite new and it had a balcony. I was the only person having brekfast so the reseptionist was very friendly and helpful. She made me four cappuchinos :)

I wonder if the breakfast room would’ve been more crowded how would she have managed to serve the guests? There weren’t any youghart, fruites, ham or cheese - only sweets. There weren’t a fridgerator in the room and I left one beer in a dridge in common area. It was taken away.

Very close to restaurants, kind and attentive staff, very clean room.

The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable, but the room itself could use some improvements to make it more visually appealing- bed frame was pretty worn out, and the room needs a full mirror and some artwork on the walls. Although I sense they are trying to keep things modern and minimalist, the room just felt a bit sterile at first. But none of that prevented us from enjoying our overnight stay at La Lira.

Such a pleasant community to spend our last day and night in Italy. So close to the airport, lots of good restaurants within walking distance, the beaches nearby, fun to watch the boats come in the river and the old dudes fishing on the side of the river. This is the second hotel that we’ve stayed in the area. Last time we stayed at a hotel, Tiber. we enjoyed La Lira more, and the price was excellent! Seriously, nice staff!

It’s not that it could have been better or that I didn’t like it, but I think it would be really cool to have a few bikes available for people to take a cruise towards the beach and get to see more of the area. No fancy bikes just good old, one speed cruisers.

We just wanted a place to sleep not far from the airport. We arrived late, the owner was waiting for us. Some restaurants in the area were open so that was great. The room was basic but clean. The owner helped us, as we forgotten an important hand bag in the shuttle. He told us he will take care. We thought that only in the morning, but wen we came back it was waiting for us. He drove about one hour to bring it. They are nice and very helpful. Really recommend.

we had a late check in and the staff stayed behind until we arrived. we really appreciated that level of customer service. We had an early start next morning to catch a flight and the guy who checked us in ordered us a taxi for the morning which arrived a few minutes earlier than anticipated but we were ready. Staff were really lovely and the taxi driver was also lovely, despite the very early start.

the shuttle bus we were expecting to catch was too full to take us; driver said wait for the next one but we waited over half an hour and another one never arrived. This was disappointing as it was 9pm and gettting dark in a location we had never been in before and tired from travelling. Ended up using a taxi but this delay made us late for check in.

After a 24 hour flight from Australia, we arrived at La Lira via the airport shuttle bus (€8) at 21:30. Valerio was waiting outside to greet us. He escorted us upstairs and completed the booking formalities in a friendly and efficient manner. We dropped our bags and asked where we could find a pizzeria for dinner. He told us of a tasty place nearby but then decided he would drive us there anyway. Next morning, breakfast was continental style and plentiful. Valerio even offered us extra food to take on our journey into Rome. His general hospitality and warmth was uncommonly refreshing. All the facilities in our room worked fine; comfy beds and warm shower. Would I come back again? Why wouldn't I? Grazie, Valerio.
