The location, the view, and the gardens were great. Staying at this hotel was like being transported back in time. It was also very peaceful and quiet. The front desk staff and the cleaning crew were very friendly and accommodating.

The hotel is old and it does show its age. The wooden floors creek and the big gothic rooms are not well lit and can feel a bit sad. My only real complaint is the lady that was watching over the breakfast area, she was not very nice, nor welcoming. First words out of her mouth were not “good morning”, but a very dry “what is your room number.

The staff is just excellent, they are trying to help with all requests. The pool area and the view is nice. Aircon is great and the rooms are large. The Villa itself is very charming and huge. Our daughter loved the donkeys.

There is no on site restaurant. We could either preorder some dinner to eat at 8pm (we haven’t done it as too late for a toddler) or eat at the bar (pizza which tasted like a frozen one). This is a huge disadvantage because the hotel is quite far from the city, located on a hill. Closest supermarket is 15-20 min walk (down and then up a steep hill).

The location of the hotel was perfect, we couldnt ask for more. The amazing views of Florence, the fact you can walk into Florence in about 20 minutes but also it was so easy to get a taxi in and out of the city too. The tranquil setting of the hotel was just amazing, leaving the busy city and within no time at all return the beautiful gardens, pool and view across Florence. We loved it so so much, it was everything we had wanted for

The staff at Bellosguardo are fantastic. Friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The hotel was a haven from the heat of Florence during our stay. We loved the peaceful retreat from the city and being close enough to enjoy the sites of the Centre. Pool and pool bar are fantastic! Breakfast is wonderful and presented a wide variety of options. It's views from the top of the hill outside Florence are magnificent.

No iron or ironing board to press your clothes in the whole place. So you have to send your ironing out. Only one bottle opener for the whole of the hotel.

Breathtaking. The location provides unparalleled views of the entire city. The building itself is rich with history and you can feel that as you walk around the grounds and the house itself. The breakfast balcony gives incredible views across another Tuscan valley.. an avsolute must stay, did not want to leave

An absolutely stunning hotel, grounds, and staff. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating, from the front desk to the pool bar. Had the time of my young life walking around the gardens, swimming in the pool, and spending time with the cats & donkeys. The room was spacious, comfortable, quiet, with a large window that opened up to the sounds & sights of the garden and landscape (and the moon!). So many spaces throughout the hotel and grounds to sit and enjoy the view of Florence from above. Truly one of the most magical places I’ve ever stayed. Hope to one day return and spend more time.

When I had to leave.

We stayed here one night wish we had stayed longer the property is beautiful and close to the city. Loved the staff we were welcome by a young gentleman who was so lovely and welcoming! The room was amazing!

Only one thing I would like to mention is that I purchased A curling iron and hair dryer in Italy so I wouldn’t have to worry about the converters or outlet adapters but I couldn’t find a plug in the room that worked for them.

Loved everything about this place ! Such a charming hotel with beautiful gardens and great views Florence. This hotel is on a hill top just outside the chaos, a 10 min drive away. We had such a relaxing and quite time and even our two year old enjoyed playing in the pool, the gardens and the lawn. The weather was perfect too and we had the best evening ever in Florence. We were awestruck by the attention to detail they had put to the decor, the murals on the roofs, the furniture and the fixtures. The breakfast was perfect too. We will definitely come back to stay here for longer.

Breakfast was excellent and the terrace it was served on was stunningly beautiful. The property is unique in a beautiful setting, it was nice to be away from the crowds in Florence city centre and have the opportunity to stay in a 12th, to 13th century villa. The surrounding gardens are beautiful.

Absolutely stunning hotel and grounds. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Make sure you're aware of where the location is when you book. Walkable into Florence and you can walk back but this does involve some steep hills. Taxis are easily bookable and staff can help with this.
