A beautiful village full of history. We loved to walk around and play with the cats. We climbed the local hill towards the famous cross that was carried all the way up there from the beach. We enjoyed many delicious cappuccinos for breakfast. We visited a museum farmhouse, visited an amazing seacow cave and had a beautiful boat trip with the Pegasus. The waters have amazing colors! During our stay (end of October) there was no place to eat lunch or dinner in the village. We enjoyed some delicious local products (cheeses, sausages, you should really try some!) from the supermarket. What a friendly and helpful ladies! We could also find some restaurant nearby the beaches. It was a great starting point to drive to many different beaches, such as Calla Gonone. In the harbor was a nice restaurant.

The shower opening was very small and headed towards the toilet, that felt a bit cramped. We turned off the fridge at night, because it made a lot of noise.

Friendly staff (especially Cristian) and good communication. Good shower and bathroom. A large fridge (though noisy) and room cleaned for the first few nights. Nice little balcony for sitting out in the evening with some view of the town and mountains (view from our Rm 10 only). Two of the cute cats, led by Dante, come up there and want to stay in the rooms. Good value for money. We had to ask for a kettle, but Cristian quickly dealt with the request, and we kept it for six nights. Temperatures were high, so not all the negatives were their fault. Galtelli itself is a great spot to base yourself ... with great supermarkets and a good restaurant (Pizzeria Il Ritrovo) and is attractive (except for its functional high street). You MUST go up to the hole in the rock (Sa Preta Istampata) and at the top of the same VERY steep but decently tarmacked road is the Bronze Christ (Cristo Bronzeo del Monte Tuttavista) - both spots have simply UNBEATABLE views. Go up the road from Galtelli and DO NOT let Google try to send you up the road from Orosei, which is unpassable (we know!). Parking at the top slopey part of via de Gasperi not too difficult.

Temperatures were high 30s to 40s, and the aircon, which looks like a substantial unit, was in fact completely useless, keeping the room at 25.4 degrees in its immediate vicinity but not anywhere else. Hence, it helped one of us nearest to it get to sleep somewhat, but for the other it was just noise. Through the night, you are best throwing all windows and doors open and letting the breeze (most nights) cool the room to 20 degrees or you will wake to a room warmer than outside. We put a sheet over the doors for privacy. Can be noisy, with staff using the balcony as an office for phone calls, guests who want to hold conversations outside til 1, 2 or 3 am and motorbikes. Smoke also carries in this closed environment, so this place is suited to sociable types who don't mind smoke.

Galtelli is a charming town and Antico Borgo is located in the heart of it. It's a lovely hotel with charming character. It's difficult to comment on accessibility, as in March the town is very empty - parking in the old city centre was therefore not a problem and hotel was not crowded, but peaceful and calm. Our room was small but cute with a lovely terrace with table and seats to enjoy the sun. I appreciate it had a fridge. Staff did not speak English, but it was willing to communicate and we managed with a little help of mobile translators. They were all very nice and friendly! The owner of the hotel was very welcoming, all though we unexpectedly arrived very late in the evening, much later than our arrival announcement.

As there are no brunch places in town and there is no dining table in the room, we were planning to order hotel breakfast everyday, but it ended up a little annoying to eat same combination of cheese, ham and eggs for seven days straight - for this price, there could be a tiny bit more variety - I don't ask for much, just a little change of what's on the plate makes a huge difference!

The hotel is charming and the bed was really comfortable! The host is super friendly, offered us a glass of wine on arrival and had the friendliest cats ever. The location is quiet & residential but there isn’t much around so a car is a must to drive to the hot spots! There is also a fridge in the room which is a bonus. We also purchased a litre of his homemade red wine for €3.50 and it’s really good.

Just to clarify, the free parking is street parking around 100 metres down the road, it’s not private parking which is a little misleading when you have a rental car you want to keep an eye on. There are also no tea/coffee making facilities but you can purchase tea/coffee.

in a beautiful rustic part of a small authentic village that is filled with history. it was in a peaceful environment. i was single mum with child and there was a good few shops with all necessary items ( supermarket and smaller shops). there is a public bus that runs daily to other villages and near the beach, also a larger town/ city. Andrea is very helpful, staff are friendly. I really enjoyed my time spent here and also the castle. superb views and beautiful scenery! having a car would really open up opportunities for exploring this area more. sadly I didn’t have the confidence to hire a car but it’s defiantly a great part of Sardinia to stay weather for a few days or the night passing through :) thanks Andrea :)

all good 👍🏼

So pittoresque, boutique, nice village. Definitely recommend! Room is clean and has a nice balcony on both sides. I did not opt for breakfast but still they offered me coffee in the morning.

Nothing!!!!! The restaurant the host recommended was closed, if i HAVE to think of something. I have been in sardinia for 2 weeks and this was the best accomodation so far. Just go.

It's a small boutique hotel in a beautifully restored 600 yrs old house. The room was not big (considering the medieval architecture), but fitted 3 of us decently. We even had a fridge in the room. Sheets were impeccably clean, smelling fresh. Air con / heating was doing its job quietly. Free parking place, 2 mins away from the hotel. The old village area has narrow streets, fitting a compact, but be careful if driving an estate. If so, better come to the parking lot from uphill down, instead of the standard Google maps routing (it is a quite narrow corner just before the parking, if addressing it going up the slope). Would definitely return It happened to be the most appealing accomodation we had in Sardegna.

What a phenomenal place! loved it. Galtelli itself is like traveling back in time. You will be staying in the very centre of this medieval town with narrow cobbled streets. Fantastic hotel, decorated in a traditional way with the utmost attention to detail. Lovely spacious bedroom with en-suite decorated in high quality finish. The hotel has a lovely courtyard with tables and chairs so you can enjoy a glass o wine under the stars. The staff was just fantastic - so helpful and polite. I bought breakfast in the morning and the plates just kept coming. Galtelli itself, in spite of being a medieval gem, is not a tourist destination (yet) which adds to its charm even more. For that reason though you need to check in advance where you want to eat out. I just went out hoping I’ll easily find a restaurant, but I couldn’t find anywhere only later on to find out there was a highly rated pizzeria.

Everything was perfect.

The hotel and rooms are very authentic. The village is amazing and the beds are comfortable as in two star hotel. Everything is clean. Just note that there are some cute cats that come inside the rooms as soon as the door opens, so if you don’t like cats or are allergic to them, you may have some difficulty staying there.

Cristian was an excellent host! He gave us some Sardian wine to try along with other guests and was very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant he recommended was also fantastic and very local with Sardian dishes to try.It was a great place to stay and had a great atmosphere - I’d recommend ! Close to Orosei too and surrounding villages/towns
