Everything. 😍 Ambience, surroundings - olive trees, flower fields and vineyards, backyard and terrace, sweet dog, chickens and cat. Domenico and Laura were so, so, sooooo kind, helpful and friendly. Domenico is full of tips and suggestions how to enjoy the area best and will give you a bunch of advise. Breakfast was delicious - freshly baked pastries 🍰 - yum! And a special touch was serving the breakfast on the terrace. For me that was a perfect way to start the day. With the birds and the sun. 🌞 We had a fantastic time and felt so sad when we had to leave and would love to come again. Grazie! Thank you! Hvala! 😊 *If you come to Puglia and have car - this is a perfect place for you. Location makes day trips to different places very easy. For us was super convenient. 👌

This B&B is in a beautiful countryside setting just outside of the city. Domenico works extremely hard to make sure that every guest has an enjoyable experience and mine was no less than perfect. I had a room in the shared space and found the accommodations to be lovely and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and if you have the opportunity I would suggest sitting outside to enjoy the sunrise while eating. It is outside of town and taxi services is limited so it's best to prearrange your arrival with Domenico or to have a rental car. The weather was beautiful and I was able to enjoy a nice walk into town in the morning and back in the evening. It's about 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes depending on your walking pace.

Everything was perfect.

The location is great, this was exactly what we needed. Quiet, peaceful, not in the town. Everything was clean, the host, Domenico is extremely friendly. He greeted us warmly, showed us around and offered us his permanent availability. Later he advised us where to go and visit, what famous sights are worth visiting.

The shower in the room was a bit small. It was not a problem for me, however, it might be a problem for an overweight guest.

Mandorla Amara B&B is situated in a very nice farmhouse in a rural area about 4 km east of Gioia del Colle. Excellent hub for visiting the many beautiful sites in the Puglia and Matera regions (all within a 40-50 km radius). The guest rooms are in an annex with a private entrance. The hosts are very hospitable and helpful, and can provide recommendations with respect to local points of interests, restaurants, etc. A very nice breakfast with locally grown fruits and home-baked cake is served on the porch in front of the guest room entrance. A nice extra is that the car can be parked in the shade (under a canopy).

The walls between the guest rooms are relatively thin, so guests may experience some noise from each other. However, this accommodation mostly appeals to guests looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday, so it will probably not be a problem. The accommodation may be challenging to reach for guests travelling with a large car, because the country road leading up to the farmhouse (approx. 900 meters) is relatively narrow and used for both directions.

They speak English! Domenico and Laura are great hosts, super hospitable and accommodating, interesting and fun to talk to. It was a beautiful location, very relaxing. Great breakfasts; they use local produce, including "primitive wine" that they make from their own grapes. There is a lovely pool. Our rental car didn't work out (make sure you have an international driver's permit) and they arranged for a friend to taxi us to sites such as Matera and Alborobello. I would highly recommend the B&B Mandorla Amara!

I definitely recommend that you have a rental car to get around. I believe they put that on their website. Although it was great that their friend was able to drive us, and he was very nice, your schedule would be more flexible with your own car. Their place is more remote and really only accessible by car.

if you came to Puglia and you have a car, do not look for the best accommodation - you just found it. Mandorla Amara is one of the best places we've ever had a chance to sleep in on Booking. absolute peace of the Italian countryside, singing birds, clucking hens - awesome. it is located in a great place, it is close to all the attractions of Apulia. The hosts are extremely nice, they will help you with everything, they will show you the best places to visit. the room itself is clean, warm, the bed incredibly comfortable, the bathroom clean, well-maintained, towels, cosmetics, hair dryer - everything is there. pleasant breakfasts provided on site, excellent coffee. You can also buy homemade wine on site - you must try it! We love everything about our apartament, next time, when we are in Puglia we will definitely stay at Mandorla Amara

Feels like you’re at home. The owner is very nice and answered all the questions I had about places to visit in the area. Delicious coffee in the morning. Quiet place.

This is not the owners fault… but I wish Booking.com would put whether you share a common area or not. As you do share a common area, and it’s quite small. Fortunately I had great neighbours.

The owner is very kind and the town in the olive fields is very quiet and beautiful. Clean beds and towels, fruits, tea, coffee, friendly dogs and cats. I was on foot, but after checking out, he drove me through the city! It was a very enjoyable stay. And the mozzarella is excellent.

It's an hour's walk from town, but the owner will pick you up!

I loved everything about this place - the location as I like the countryside, the owner, so outgoing and helpful, and finally the place that has much more that an average Italian room you rent, especially for this price (the italian rooms have nearly no furniture :). The room was very cosy, the owner was kind to put a small desk for me to work and simply all I would have wished more would be a nice weather to sit outside! Just 2 rooms in the property, which makes it even cosier. No children running around as I think it's not a proper place for children (sorry, not everyone likes it!). Big grazie.
